“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
All the beat reporters seem to think its not over either. I was born, raised, and lived in Hammond for 30 years and so my Facebookis blowing up with the news. I'm telling them to pump their brakes just a lil bit and I hope I dont look stupid. I'd say it's like 95% Indiana at this point but dont think it's over.

Yeahhhh in hindsight that offer sucks. I was trying to tie some things together. There's been the BYU coach report along with (probably false) reports about tge Bulls trying to trade up and the reports of the Bulls taking on salary. The thought would be to flip AD later for draft picks but nah, not worth it. Dybansta is probably not gonna be worth Wilson/Boozer plus 15 and whatever you get outta AD.

Bulls are interviewing BYU coach Kevin Young. Pretty interesting name when you consider the #1 player in the draft. Before going to BYU he asks associate head coach for the Suns who made it to the finals, so there's more than just the Dybansta connection. Would be pretty interesting if they go that route if they can trade up and get his guy. Wizards would very much like to get out of Anthony Davis contract and the Bulls can eat that whole contract..... Who says no... Wizards get- Pick #4 Pick #15 A million future 2s Bulls get- Pick #1 Anthony Davis

That's a bummer, he was my favorite candidate. I wonder if they were waiting around for a formal interview on him. Since he's still in the playoffs I believe they could only do zooms. Splitter is the guy who intrigues me the most but the fact that Portland is not bringing him back gives me concern. Portland was trash for years and Splitter got them in the playoffs. He won Gold as a head coach in a 23U league for Brazil and won a couple titles in France as a HC as well.....Deni didn't become an all star until this past year under him. I'd be happy with Nori, Quinn, or Kidd as well.

Trade Proposals
Maybe it's because i haven't watched much at all the last 2 years and haven't fully got to embrace his grindiness, but just looking at the back of the baseball card, Meidroth just seems "Okay." If Gonzalez keeps hitting like this come trade deadline time, I think it's worth a consideration.

Trade Proposals
If Gonzalez keeps hitting like he is, I might consider trading Meidroth over Gonzalez. Like some one suggested in the minor league game thread, I think you call him up and just move him around in like a Ben Zobrist type toll......That's if they dont just move on from Benni which is probably ideal even after showing signs of life.

And that's a series taking White Sox winner!
So what you're saying is Willy's boys will just not quit?

Lol. I think maybe some Bulls fans are having PTSD from his dad. Carlos was also a dann fine player but what he represented(the results of the decision) left a bad taste in our mouths.

Was Jerry still in charge for AKME?? The more I hear from Michael and see some of the moves, the more I start to like him. Also.... Boozer is starting to grow on me. He was awful shooting the 3 in the tourney and that made me kinda sour on him. Didn't realize he shot 39% from 3 overall. I could definitely see Wilson going 3 and im now more content with taking Boozer at 4.

At what point do we start to believe?
I think its about time I give CHSN my moneys. I've followed the box scores daily and as a driver im constantly tuned into 670/1000 so I'm still "Up to date," but I haven't physically watched a game since going to a July game last year. Between the sox being so bad, and me becoming a borderline degenerate gambler who hasn't yet jumped into gambling on baseball, the Sox have become a visual afterthought. I wonder at what point does the organization start to believe?! If this team keeps playing like this do they look to BUY at the deadline????? Or are Teel and Montgomery their additions to this team? Would you trade Antanocci to a team looking for infield help for a more proven outfielder?? Do guys like Gonzalez(I think thats the AAA infielder doing well) or Billy Carlson have enough value to other teams to bring in a legit OF/DH?

Lol that kinda defeats the purpose of trading Giddey because the PG market is flush buttttt.... I'd do Ja and 16 for Giddey. Grab Carr at 15 and Steinbach at 16. Ja-Carr-Matas-Wilson-Steinbach would be loads of fun.

I like Giddey a lot, I think he can be a starting PG on a championship caliber team if the pieces around him are good and hes the 3rd or 4th option. That being said, looking at the PGs in this draft if you can get a 1st for him, especially this year, I think you can make that trade. Wonder if theres a team would want to part ways with a big bad contract, add a good starting PG, and send us a 1st.

If Mara is gone I like Cam Carr at 15 if he's there. Yes they need a center, but they also need a shooting guard and Carr is one of the better off ball scorers in the the draft, he has great length, and is a strong defender. My dream scenario would be packaging 38 with a few 2nd rounders and moving up to take Veesaar.

I made pretty much the exact post a few weeks ago. They're in a really interesting spot where a case can be made a few different ways. I know reports are that they may be looking into using their cap space on bad contracts that come with draft picks, but i really hope they look into the RFA market. Getting a young guy like Peyton Watson or Walker Kessler still fits the timeline of these young guys hopefully developing into stars. Getting Ayo back would be pretty cool too but I think Minny brings him back.

I really hope it's Wilson. I'm sure Boozer will be fine but he just doesn't tickle my fancy as much. I know the new GM brought up rebuild, but i still wonder if this changes anything. It at the very least should shorten the rebuild.
