  1. Cannon is money. Great performance so far. Time for some run support!
  2. 3.52 per game. 25th out of 30 teams. (fyi)
  3. At least Vargas stepped on third before that pathetic throw.
  4. Right. That's the thing to keep in mind. When each piece is lacking, it puts more pressure on the others to be their best (offense, defense, starting pitching, bullpen). Yesterday, everything was peak. Tonight, if the game is tied late, the pressure will be on the bullpen to keep it so until the offense can squeak out a run. If they choke up 3 (like Booser the other night), it'll be an L.
  5. Vargas made a routine play look hard. Man. Cannon really shining though.
  6. Close and late is interesting: Pitching: dead last in WHIP (1.75) Hitting: near the bottom (but never last) in AVG, OBP, SLG, and OPS. Surprisingly, the offense is 19/30 in runs scored 7th inning and later. They can score more late than one would think. If the bullpen gives up 2 or more in a close game, the team will likely lose. But that's true of a lot of teams.
  7. After a couple good 0-2 takes, I would have appreciated a two out single from Pantera there. The offense, as bad as it is, isn't as bad as I thought. It's not only NOT the worst ever, it isn't even the worst in MLB. As of today: 25/30 in runs scored per game (3.52). By comparison, the Guardians are 23rd in runs scored per game (3.81) and they have an 18-13 record. Before the game, I was going to post about the team overall so far, but I didn't get the research done in time.
  8. LOL!!! and he looks like he should be working the fryer!
  9. I love the 1950-60s flying Sox logo. I'm not a Bulls fan, so I don't really dig the red pajamas, but I won't hold it against anybody. I love the previous black "Southside" City Connect uni.
  10. Ugh. Getz sounds like he's making it up as he goes along.
  11. Cannon's performance here is not reflected in any stat that I know of. He just saved the offense, defense, bullpen and himself pressure going forward. Not to mention some possible confidence boost. That was exemplary.
  12. That's two fundamental outs blown. Come on guys!
  13. I agree the poor situational hitting is maddening, and I hate to see the team beat themselves by failing the fundamentals. Repeatedly. This game was still winnable late though.
  14. Vaughn drove in Robert to tie the game. Granted, Pantera's GIDP hurt, and late hits would have been nice. But Cam Booser killed this game. Bullpen holds, Sox win this game 4-3.
  15. Time for my man Don Luis to earn his pay. I'm not holding my breath. OOOOWWWHH!
  16. With this team we have to be grateful when they execute the fundamentals. "I make a good short throw home to the catcher so he can tag the runner who is out by a mile." That's what ya s'posed to do! - Chris Rock.
  17. Don Luis doing his job, and Quero is the man!
  18. That's it. Take what they give ya, hit 'em where they ain't.
  19. Vaughn with a sac fly, not a GIDP!
