  1. You're onto something here. Maximize the + minimize the -
  2. 5 for 11 with RISP. You do that every game, you're gonna win a lot.
  3. That CS was a nice play, but play of the game's gotta go to Cannon pitching out of 2 jams, or some of the clutch hitting.
  4. Play the game right (except for those bush league errors).
  5. Good times! Two consecutive games of good baseball outweighing the bad (the bad tonight being two errors Cannon pitched out of). Let's remember this feeling. Not every starter is gonna pitch like Cannon did tonight. Our guys aren't going to score 7 (or 4) runs every game. When they don't, Booser's gonna need to do like he did tonight. That isn't always going to happen. It's a high wire balancing act with this team.
  6. OK Booser. You can give up 3 again, but that's it.
  7. Shocking. The Sox getting the breaks and getting it done. Unless the pen totally chokes, this is the second game in a row we can hold on to.
  8. I agree that any player on the DL isn't helping the team. Robert Jr's games per season is worrying. I'll have to look at that. I do love watching him when he is on the field though.
  9. The 8.2% cider kicked in a couple innings ago!
  10. "A walk equals a single." Unless you could have advanced the runner as well. But we'll take it!
  11. Surprised Vaughn didn't swing at that pitch. Glad he didn't. C'mon, let's get some insurance and take some pressure off our bullpen! We deserve a win on this one.
  12. Imho, they need to (re)build around some outstanding players like Robert Jr (if he produces like he should). At some point, ya need to stop trading away your stars for potential.
  13. OK, Leasure. You can give up 1, but no more!
  14. I wanna see him be the "straw that stirs the drink." Get another star like Abreu in his prime to hit after Robert for a knockout 1-2 punch.
  15. (Replying to friend Caulfield) I saw Seaver with the 73 Mets. The GO GO Sox had great pitching and light hitting, like the 73 Mets. Of course, both those teams lost! LOL. I think we can only hope for some fun games this year...
  16. Harold said: I'd be more than happy to go to war with a staff full of Johnathan Cannon's. He doesn't light up a radar gun but Dude just competes his ass off. Love to watch him work. He has done all you can ask and more. He hasn't K'd everyone, but he's done better than Seaver did much of the time. (Seaver my go to for elite pitcher).
  17. Alright. Old timers like me will remember - Vargas just looked like Brooks Robinson on that play. Throw on the fly from foul territory to get the runner. Why does he look so bad most of the time? Come on, Vargas, focus!
  18. OK! ML defense there. The defense was laughable earlier, but now they do it right. Forget the former, do the latter!
  19. Cool info re: Robert Jr. from you guys. Thanks. I think he's a special player, and I hope he lives up to his potential.
  20. See that. Good situational hitting. Clutch 2-out single. We need more of that every game!
  21. Luckily, the E's haven't cost any runs. Cannon picked up the team and pitched out of those boo boos!
