My friends and I are all 18 now...
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) I registered. Made me feel like an American. I then proceeded to field phone calls from every single branch of the military for the next two years. I stopped by a strip club one night. I saw the entry fee, choked. I saw the minimum drink limit, and then asked the price. $10 for a coke. I did the math, it would have costed about $70 just to get in. I laughed. I left. I've never been to such an establishment, and I am now closing in on 36. Your local Quickie Mart (or whatever) has a fine selection of magazines you could possibly buy now. As long as they don't lecture you. That was another thing I did right away back then. Stopped in, asked for a copy of...I think it was Oui or Chic, and the guy behind the counter (the owner, BTW) decided I was in need of lecturing. It ended with me explaining to him I was just buying one magazine for kicks, he on the other hand was selling them and making a profit on them, so who was at the greater wrong. $70 bucks. That is outrageous.

Recruiting Thread
Kansas St. also has Herb Pope, one of the top PFs in the class of 2007, as a high interest recruit. Can you imagine Mayo, Walker, Beasley and Pope in one class? That is sick.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) The Cubs have a guy named Angel Pagan? Anyone else find that name kind of hilarious? I don't, but sometimes things just make other people laugh for no apparent reason.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) Letting Neifi Perez beat you... pretty sad. 4-4 tie game. Cubs fans happy in ST b/c they know they won't beat the Sox in the regular season...even sadder.

I am really loving what KW did with the bench. Ozuna, Macowiak and Cintron are all top of the line UTIL players. Wid is the perfect backup C as he is a vet, smart, communicates well with pitchers, calls great games and is a great clubhouse guy.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Politte in to pitch for Buehrle. Francisco Hernandez in to catch for Pierzynski. Chris Getz in at 2B for Iguchi. Getz is a player to watch, he can do everything except hit for power. But he can run, walk, strike out rarely, field his position, has great arm strength. He is a big-time keeper.

Thome a HOF'er??
All the steroids people will hurt Thome. He is going to get the 500 homers, but now that doesn't give an automatic entrance to the hall. However, he is in the top 20 all-time in OPS and Slug %. 2-3 more solid years, I think will get him in b/c he is just "country-strong," as hawk would say and never took roids. But, in the end, as YASNY said, it will be a coin flip.

More roster cuts made
Nelson has proven that he can get righties out with ease. He would be a solid vet to add to our bullpen. Give him the tough righties in the 6th and 7th and now our pen looks deep again. Surely, he is better than Hermy (just b/c of injury issues,) Thorton and Lopez. And I am sure that as a veteran who is near the end of the road baseball wise, he would love to come to a contender for one last hurrah even if it were in a limited role.

Lumsden generates some very good velocity with little effort. He has a nice smooth delivery.
