I love how Count had a pretty bad game for him recently yet he was damn good by any other standards.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 5
even though it looked a little tough out there tonight for Count, solid game 3 runs and a 1.00 whip.

Count go have a Cuban, solid pitching effort.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 5
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Because if we can get 2-3 scoreless out of El Duque, that gives us our best pitchers available should the game go to Extra Innings. And if El Duque gets in trouble...we have backup for him in the form of Cotts and Politte. Which would you prefer, El Duque getting into trouble in the 8th with Cotts and Politte both available, or El Duque getting into trouble in the 12th with Cotts and Politte already used up? You don't play for extra innings, you play for the 7th, 8th and 9th.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 5
If the leadoff man gets on, we need to get in Cotts.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 5
The bottom of the order has hurt Contreras today, so why let him go out there and face their fast and good contact hitters? Our bullpen is well rested, this should be a Cotts inning.

JD do it!

bad pitch to swing at Gooch, why is Duque warming when we have Cotts and Politte?

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 5
Count shows some kahones there with Vlad up. Even though that was a pretty hittable pitch, Vlad just in a funk.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 5

2 close pitches, why doesn't Buck talk about that for an inning?

Look what the Sox offered for Billy Wagner
QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) If that were indeed the offer, anyone want to explain why Philly wouldn't have taken it? I call bulls*** on the writer. Crede is just average, Marte sucks and they have some good young pitches already: Gavin Floyd, Brett Meyers, Robinson Tejada and Vicente Padilla. They really don't need McCarthy and they wanted to resign Wagner anyways.

Anyone ever hear of the gyroball pitch?
http://www.robneyer.com/book_04_gyroball.html Daisuke Matsuzaka, who probably going to be posted this off-season has got one and a 98 MPH fastball. But it is weird pitch that "the ball comes at the hitter looking like a hanging curve and then takes a hard, flat turn away from a right-handed batter" Here is some video of a high school kid throwing, not the best view, but you can see the movement. http://static.baseballtoaster.com/blogs/th...video/gyro1.mov Anyone here of it?

Jerry Owens
Yesterday, Jerry had another nice game. He was 3-5, with 1 run, a double and a SB. He is batting .556 through 2 games. Even though it's early, glad to see him picking up right where he left off.

Just think if we did this deal, we might not be in the playoffs with all the great things Crede and McCarthy did for us. Source: http://mlb4u.com/rumors.html
