  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 08:09 AM) Bolland CRUSHED that guy - beautiful open-ice hit! I have NO IDEA how she stayed asleep!!!! LOL Between the horns and the drunken f***s arguing behind us, it was a miracle she didn't wake up! I'm kind of glad, because I didn't want to have to try to explain what "f***er", "s***head" and "a**hole" mean. Oh, and Krush, this should be nice for you to hear - my kid NEVER falls asleep during Wolves games. She is completely into the whole deal at the Allstate! I was at the game last night, and Bolland hit Kariya... knocked him off his feet but it wasn't that bad of a hit, Bolland is too skinny to make any hit bad. They definitely sat on the lead later in the game.... and Rudy turned the puck over way too many times. Overall they outplayed a good veteran Blues team... a team I think that can make the playoffs if they get better goaltending out of Legace. Finally, I got to the game at 7:20 and didnt get inside until close to 8, why? Because of the ticket office people who were pathetic, they couldnt handle even a small rush of walk-up crowd.
  2. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 05:14 PM) Unfortunately, this wasn't brought up. I dont think the Hawks would profit from it, so they have no incentive to do so. I think they are only televising 7 games because they got Chevy to buy the AD-time, maybe comcast couldnt sell all the commercial time in such a crammed time frame.
  3. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 4, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) Putting the games on CSN+ in s*** quality is not the way to expose the team. All the games need to be in HD, so however many you can get on there this year in HD, that's what you do. I'm not in opposition to putting as many games in HD as possible... HD is, in my opinion the way the NHL can be saved. But the team doesn't televise its home games, and never has. They have two amazing teenagers making history. Get as many games in HD as you can... and put the rest on CSN+ if you need be. just my opinion.
  4. I deleted everything except the Game Day Thread. End of Story. Lets move on.
  5. Thanks for your support. We were hacked a couple months back, and were trying to build the site back up. I apologize if 5 posts in a 20 page thread offend you, but its a sister site to this board... and well it's ours to push. That being said I wasn't planning on pushing the site in this thread any longer, and I won't - It just seems fitting that soxtalk community members who dig hockey could utilize a board run by soxtalk administrators who also like hockey. Go Blackhawks.
  6. on a side note.... do you think Brian Anderson has luscious curly blonde pubes like the hair on his head? just thought id break some of the tension...... Darin Erstad's pubes can smooth stone, cause ya know he's grindy.
  7. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Magnus' play has been spotty at best. Maybe some time watching from the box will help him. There is no doubt that Magnus has offensive ability.... but this team needs more consistent play in their own end. Khabibulin hasn't played up to expectations and needs help. could you imagine what Khabbys GAA would look like if Aucoin and Cullimore were still around?
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Little heads up, Byfuglien called up for the game tonight, and is in the lineup. Magnus in the pressbox. This is Bubba's big shot.... he is the defenceman they are looking for.... big physical and sure on the puck. If he can be all those things, he will log major minutes this season.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) ^^^ The frame is up, and the site is upgraded so that all of the hack attacks that happened before are a thing of the past. Re-register, and email the link to your friends! The Hawks are exciting again, and this should be the place to restore the roar. Also, were in the planning stages of a contest set up for January, where the winner will get a pair of tickets to an upcoming game.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) CWSguy and IlliniKrush ... I totally understand your optimism. There hasn't been a lot to be optimistic about about in the last decade or so. I also understand the fact that Rocky is not Bill and he HAS made an impression on me. Still, after 10 years of crap, I'm not going to say that things are finally turning around for the Hawks. I need to see more than a month of hockey to erase a decade of incompetance. The most hopeful sign to me is that they got Pulford out of the operation. But still, it remains to be seen if things are actually changing for the better or if this is just another mirage. I was completely stoked until I heard they could televise more games.... and Rocky has decided against it. I'm not sure what the motivation is there..... PUT AS MANY GAMES ON TV AS YOU CAN this year. This isn't like introducing the glowing puck and gauging interest.... this is exposing your team to its fans. 6 to 8 games.... ugh
  11. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) Hawks win. Tonight was f***ing beautiful. Kane is scoring at a faster pace than Sid the Kid, and Melrose (I know, take it for what it's worth) said that Kane is as good as Crosby if not better, and that he's going to score "110-120 points a year" for a long time. MANNNNNN, Kane is the shiiiiiit (and I was all about Kaner before we even drafted him)... Toews is great, Kane is God... and Blackhawks hockey is back! Hallelujah, holy s***, where's the Tylenol? I'll be honest... when we drafted Kane I was feeling sorry for myself, because he wasnt Crosby, or Ovechkin... he was short.... weighed nothing.....but I was absolutely wrong. Patrick Kane has what all the best players in the game have - vision. Kane can make plays at 18 that few players in the league can, because he is strong on the puck and finds passing lanes that wouldnt exist for other players. hes good.... almost tooo good
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Melrose (I know its Barry Melrose) stated last night that Patrick Kane just might wind up being the best American born player ever (then offered Mike Modano as the guy who currently holds the title). He then said that there was so much hype about Crosby that this was expected, but that Kane is easily going to be as good as Crosby if not better. Talk about a ringing endorsement. The Mullet Speaks, Thus is Law.
  13. Little Shameless Self-Promotion We have game day threads for the Hawks over at TalkBhawks.com.... lets make TalkBhawks the premiere source for hawk fans looking for good discussion on this exciting young team.
  14. I hear the United Center is upgrading from Beta to VHS....... also there is this new technology called "Compact Discs" that they are investigating to play music with. Times, they are a changing..
  15. Dare I say it..... will home games be shown on television soon? The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!
  16. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 05:45 PM) Gotta say, I've seen hawt, I've seen sexy, I've seen sultry. I've never seen saultry. Looking forward to it. Although the followup letter in which 'one reader' explains to you that a "hummer" need not be an expensive suv might be a little dull. Then your whole disbelief ("wait, they'll actually DO that?! THAT?!!!") will get a bit old. But okay. Baby steps. saultry is like sultry but..... involving a guy name Saul. He lubes up in baby oil etc... its a circus. Body hair and jizz everywhere... im trying to reinvent a genre.
  17. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) I knew there was a reason it fell from 4000%. just wait until is start my own sub-topic board "Murcie's Taxi Cab Confessions" its gonna be hawt, sexy, saultry, and follow the Dear Penthouse Forum format. "Dear Murcie, I never thought it would happen to me.... I got this saucy bridgeport skank to give me a hummer in the shower behind the left field bleachers."
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) The good Romo/bad Romo Rex reference died on the last 2 drives when, unlike Rex, he overcame his mistakes and led his team to victory. The thing with Rex is he is mentally very weak, I have yet to see him ever have a game where something went wrong and he came back to help his team overcome it and win. As we saw last year, anytime the Bears won during one of Rex's bad games, it was due to the special teams and defense (SEE: game at Arizona and vs. Minnesota at Soldier Field). Romo managed to have a respectable 30 for 50 night and 302 yards, while leading his team to a TD and field goal inside 2 minutes to win the game in a hostile road enviornment. Almost NOBODY would have the stones to be able to come back and do that after turning it over 6 times, however Romo does, as has Favre his entire career, and that is where the comparisions come in. Nobody is saying Romo is Favre, they are just saying he has a lot of similar traits to Brett Favre circa 1994, and that is a fair point. See how he bounces back from adversity when he is playing a competent defense, head coach. Belicheck is not Jauron, and Adalius Thomas isnt Terreance McGee. If the media gets on Romo like they did Rex..... he will falter too.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) Bad Romo = Still got the job done. Bad Romo was better than Bad Rex.... but after that game the luster of Rex's fast start wore off and teams started to really challenge him. Romo is more mobile and has better weapons.... but the Patriots are going to be biggest test of his career.... 4/5 ints is a possibility next week too. "Go ahead, Crown their butts." "The Cowboys are whom we believed them to be."
  20. Good Romo....... leads the drive to get 6. Bad Romo....... cant get the 2pt conversion to tie the game
