QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 10:32 AM) The DVR is god but on an other point. Lalime was incredible all weekend. Not to point out the obvious but this team really needs to generate scoring opportunities on a more consistent basis. The third and fourth lines are non-existent and hardly generate anything. The defense was pretty solid. Gotta say Barker and Jordan have looked pretty good. I am not sure if it is Williams and Toews being out or Havlat looking like a shell of himself but the number 8 spot in the playoffs would not be pretty if we had to face Detroit. As for the future, why can't the Hawks handle Habby/Lalime like the Wings treat Hasek and Osgood? They were pointing on CSN last night but the rest for Habby could be a good thing in the long run. Take all of this with a grain of salt as I thought Kevyn Adams was a defenseman.......... Khabby hasn't been the same since the rule changes... im not sure if the change in pad size has bothered him, but he looks uncomfortable in net sometimes. Also, he benefitted greatly from some big dudes on defense when he was in Tampa Bay, guys like Cullimore could bear hug the opposition and let Khabby play the angles more effectively.

I'd like to at least consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to movies, and I'm a particularly hard sell.... but I absolutely loved this movie. Someone said it earlier and I couldnt agree more... this is truly a movie you must see in the theater and preferably with a large crowd. I have been following the viral marketing on and off since the trailer premiered with transformers, and I think knowing some of the back story enhanced the story for me. I liked the feeling of having the film speak to me specifically because I knew some of the references that required prior knowledge (Jason wearing the Slusho shirt). Consider me a sucker for this type of marketing... I think JJ Abrams should be lauded for his creativity. The imagination behind this movie was absolutely inspiring. It may not take a total genius to combine the concepts of Blair witch and Godzilla together, but it was something else to tell the story the way he did... completely ignoring the norm and allowing the audience to decide how deep they wanted to journey down the rabbit hole. The monster was also sick, not like anything you could have ever imagined... scary, ugly, and unique. Abrams had said it somewhere he wanted to make the US version of Godzilla, this may not have the same type of personality Godzilla had... but it was none-the-less effective. I don't like to give numbers, but i'd give clover field ****1/2 out of ***** / end Abrams suck fest.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 12:38 AM) HNIC is stating that DT is shopping Habby to pretty much anyone who will listen. Old news I know but it seems to be getting around he is really trying to deal him. With his poor play and huge contract I have a hard time seeing too many teams being interested. Only way Khabby is traded A) Team is in playoff race B) Team has established defense C) Team has comparable albatross salary they want to unload Colorado? Philly? just some thoughts. Rosenbloom had a good line couple days back..... Khabibulin is Russian for Ben Wallace. How true.

Did anyone catch Rivers jawing at some Colts fan at the end of the game, and then the Colts fan gave him the finger right in his face? Priceless.
-
to be fair.... if i spent a weekend in Mexico bouncing my beanbag off that beautiful retard's face, I'd probably lose the biggest game of my career too.

Nuke, what was it like around the base while the latest bombings were going on.... 40,000 Lbs of explosives!

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Nope - that county is still not in. I was being snotty, Balta said it was over... but anyways. I consider myself independent and I'm just glad that they will at least need to keep the campaign to the issues and not the Obama "movement", even if only for a little while. If Barack Obama wins, and he would be a fine leader in my opinion, I'd like to at least know the people heard his stance on the issues, rather than focus solely on his "Rockstar good looks." Keeping things close will make all candidates re-focus on the campaign and not let anyone run away with the ticket.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) 3500, still missing Dartmouth and a couple other college towns. Not over yet. are you sure? he said it was.

Ron Paul is a goofy dude.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) Back up to 2900. I'm starting to think she won it. Darmouth - Hanover County (6000 votes), Durham - NH State, will determine the outcome. Those numbers seem to indicate Obama will squeek it out.... still a loss as far as expectations go.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) OK so, the gap between Clinton and Obama is now 39%-36% (was 40-35) at 30% reporting, but they are saying the Clinton camp is sounding like they are going to lose. Interesting. All depends on if the young dems got out to vote.... if they didn't Hillary might pull this one out.
-
I still think Hillary loses tonight, but if she keeps it close.... its a victory for her. McCain train looking good, took 36% of Reps and 36% of independents so far.... he struggled getting the conservative base in 2000, did alot better this time around.
-
McCain Train falls to 4th

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) wait until Obama speaks. I saw Senator Obama at DePaul, and while I was moved then too... Huckabee has the ability to tug on your heart strings, and then make you laugh a few words later. When Obama tries to be funny, it feels like hes trying too hard. Its just my opinion though.
-
Huckabee is undeniably the most talented orator on either side, the speech he's giving right now sounds very sincere.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 09:37 PM) So biggest winners and losers in both parties from tonight's result? Winners Obama (Biggest Winner) Edwards Huckabee McCain Losers Clinton Romney (Biggest Loser) Thompson
-
Huckabee should consult Jeremy Piven and ask him how to grow back hair.
-
McCainTrain in third, according CNN (78%) reporting.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) So, the caucus was actually a long, boring process, but I'm happy with how everything turned out. It was about an hour of my night eating stale cookies. Thanks for voting for me btw.... friends forever my ass.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Cant be the comeback kid when you have pretty much acted as the defacto winner the past 6 months. From the people who didn't consider head in the office sex? Anything is possible. Hilary took a kick in the vag tonight, and I think Obama will carry this momentum... but I'd feel silly counting the Clintons out just yet
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) No matter what happens, the media was going to declare it as a win for McCain anyway. And they might have done the same thing with Obama too. Because they've decided those are the likeable ones. Your probably right about that, but considering where McCain's campaign was two months ago... a strong 3/4 finish is victory of sorts. If he finds a way to win in New Hampshire, then he is a legitimate contender.
-
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) McCain is getting his ass kicked. how do you figure that? the highest he was projected to finish in Iowa was 3rd... he's running 4th. New Hampshire is McCain's big chance, he's made a furious run there and has pulled into a statistical tie with Romney.
-
Obama has run a pretty straight-forward campaign... and it has paid off for him tonight. I'm not what you would consider a liberal, but I've been impressed by what appears to be Obama's leadership qualities.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) The Republicans have had the Christian Coalition vote on their side for decades now. Aren't they due a chance to have one of their own win? That's the voter's right, and the beauty of democracy.... i just disagree with their choice.
-
Mike Huckabee....Seriously Iowa?
