  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 09:13 AM) i dont know if any of you heard JA on the Boers and Bernstein show yesterday, but I have never heard that guy laugh as much as he did with those two. It was odd to hear him when he isnt on the defensive. B&B asked him about the upcoming team, JA said that Garrett Wolfe is who he foresees as his steal of the draft. He also said that if he hadnt been in Tampa when Warrick Dunn was drafted, he may not have felt that way about him, but he sees alot of Dunn in Wolfe. he also loves the phantom of the opera..... so.... yeah
  2. Things went downhill for him after Gage, Mario and I stalked him at an Applebee's in Winston-Salem. I take partial blame.... I was a bloomin onion addict.... 3 time a day habit.... my arteries are totally shot.
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 08:08 AM) Rex had a decent year in his first full year, and by Bears QB standards he still is way at the top of the list(which isnt saying too much, but still). Rex will have more weapons to his disposal, another year with the same OC and the same playbook, and hopefully a little confidence more than cockiness after having a Superbowl year last year. The premise of the season will still be the same, the defense will do what they do and Rex really only has to manage the game, but the prospects of the offense are really exciting this year. If Rex can turn some of those total stinker games into merely mediocre games, his numbers will be through the roof. Rex spent this off season working on his most pressing issue .... footwork. ( he of course took time off to fight evil and totally ravage his wife sexually) If Rex can roll out of the pocket without falling over, set his feet and fire the ball accurately..... he's going to be a pro bowler and the bears will be contending again. Have some faith in Rex..... Rex is not only a talented Quarterback, but he is going to be the most prolific Passer in Chicago Bears History.
  4. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) Because Lance Briggs was designated as a franchise player, the Bears cannot sign him to a long-term contract until the first calendar day of the 2008 season, which I believe is the same day that free agency begins in late February or early March. It’s interesting to note, however, that the two sides can negotiate during the season if they are so inclined. In terms of whether the Bears will ultimately sign Briggs to a long-term deal, I’d have to say that the chances of that are remote. You and Larry Mayer from Chicagobears.com have very similar styles.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 07:55 AM) I think this was the same guys who robbed Antoine Walker. i was thinking the same thing...... seems like too much of a coincidence. if i was an athlete living in the area id be careful.
  6. very odd to hear that little boy..... did DJ just say that little boy gives him chills? :ph34r: :ph34r:
  7. Billy Martin..... Bridgeport is burning.
  8. if they re-sign PODS.... there can be absoultely no animosity towards him on this board when he tweaks an oblique muscle next year and Luis Tererro is your starting left fielder for a 5th place ball club.
  9. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) This trade wasn't about what we got back - it's about opening the position for Richar. To think, we'd get anything more than a mid-level (if he's even that) prospect for a struggling player on the last year of his contract is unrealistic, and wishful thinking. Hopefully, the White Sox are smart enough to get an extended look at Richar for the remainder of the season. I couldn't agree more.... everyone clamoring about KW only getting Dubee back from Philly is overvaluing Iguchi's worth. Bottom line: Gooch had almost negative value at this point. his offensive and defensive play suffered greatly this year, and the only reason there was a market for him was because he isn't guaranteed money after 07 and there was an injury. I'll miss you, you crazy ninja bastard.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) None of what you said makes sense, if Briggs sits out he is going to get a smaller contract than if he plays. The only thing that could change this is if he has a career threatening injury which isnt all that likely. Than also he is now guaranteed 7.2 million no ifs ands or buts about it..... Also Rosenhaus is good because he gets his agents big contracts, he hasnt been successful in hold outs as of late but that has as much to do with the player as the agent. He still got a cancer like TO paid great money. the average career for an NFL player is a little over 3 years..... career threatening injury isn't all that likely? what game do you watch? he is gauranteed 7.2 million for 1 season..... 1 season...... 1 season. if Rosenhaus got the longterm extension he was trying to fanagle would have received considerably more upfront, without playing a down, no risk of injury. (He wanted BRIAN Urlacher Money). If Briggs sits out he is going to get a smaller contract than if he plays? Perhaps.... but how much smaller? i wouldn't think it would be considerably smaller. Briggs is in his prime, coming off pro bowl years, and plays a valued position.... even if Briggs held out and signed elsewhere next year... he would have signed a ridiculous contract with a team like Washington for arguements sake, and he wouldn't risk injury. So Rosenhaus paraded Briggs around talking about how the Bears are s***ty and how he is going to hold out.... for what? he took the 7.2 million and now has to play a season not to get hurt. If Briggs has season ending surgery for a torn achilles, acl or anything else that would prohibit his mobility..... we'll see what the market for him is then. What you made makes absolutely no sesne. Rosenhaus is a deuchebag who thinks he is smarter than he really is. He got TO money NOT BECAUSE HE IS A GREAT AGENT.... BUT BECAUSE TO is an ungodly talent. Jerry Jones didnt talk to Rosenhaus and give TO a contract because he bought into Rosenhaus, he signed TO because like every team before the COwboys they thought they could tame him. Glad to have him back.
  11. I think Fields is the answer to 1 of the many questions that plague this team.
  12. Briggs is taking a big chance that he can make it through this season, not get injured while still playing well enough to keep his value intact. even if Briggs does play subpar, someone will give him a big contract...... but why chance a career ending injury? dont get me wrong Im stoked he is back with the team.... but for Briggs this is a big gamble. This also has to be viewed as a loss for Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus loves to play chicken with General Managers around the league but he seemingly always flinches first. Drew Rosenhaus = ????????? why is this guy a good agent? Because he got Willis McGahee drafted in the first round? color me unimpressed.
  13. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 08:56 AM) FIXED. I perfer Bukb****...... but to each his own.
