Sox interested in Crisp?
Called on it? How? Make the comparison then. So far you have compared him to Erstad, owens, Pods, Fields, am I missing anyone? Really great players there. In 115 games he has a .326 OBP and a .257 average. He is thrown out stealing bases 50% of the time. 22 years old you say? Nice. Let me know how this works out for the Nats.

oh yeah - with redi whip and hersheys syrup.

Sox interested in Crisp?
I think you are correct. They are waiting for him to declare residency. That was a couple weeks ago that I heard that though because the Indians were supposedly interested in him and were waiting to make an offer for him. I agree - there is nno harm and is definitely worth the risk.

The rap music is an issue? Seriously? Ok whatever. I don't believe it is the same category. We will see about how good that trade was. Delightfully comparable - hilarious!

Wow the number 9 player lands you Ryan Church and Brian Schneider. Sweet!

Sox interested in Crisp?
(1) ha ha - that isn't saying much. Pods, Erstad, Owens....yeah that is who I want to compare my top prospect to. (2) He wasn't? Was he close? Who was? (3) Yes I am. (4) Bobby had issues. (5) Pierzynski - Possibly one of the worst trades ever in the history or MLB. Then he supposedly had issues. Your comparisons are funny.

I don't think Garland is worthless, I think he is worth less than some on this board do. He is a #3 or 4 starter. I do think we took the Angels for a ride. An overpaid #3 or 4 pitcher for one of the best SSs in the league plus cash is a great deal. I don' think Zito deserved it and didn't want him on my team either. You are correct - I don't trust FA rankings.

Fukudome. I have only heard about his talents. Yet some thing he is the next great thing.

Sox interested in Crisp?
That means I don't trust any rankings on what team has the best and worst farm systems. NONE.

Sox interested in Crisp?
Guess not.

Such as Alexei Ramirez? NICE!

You know this how?

Sox interested in Crisp?
I'll give you that. A little something. How many prospects do they say will be great MLB players but are s***? How is Lastings Milledge doing? Wasn't he the number 1 overall player a couple years ago? Now all they could get for him is Ryan Church and Brian Schneider? WOW! Baseball America knows a little - that is for sure.

They are always right. Damn Borchard and Brian Anderson turned out to be a couple of stud players didn't they?

Cabrera gives the Sox great defense up the middle along with a veteran to help Richar. He also is a huge upgrade in smarts and offense over Uribe. He is a huge upgrade over what the Sox had and does a lot for this team. I think you are highly overrating that trade chip. He may have been the biggest, but that is hardly saying much. I can see you want this to turn out to be horrendous, but I am planning on seenig why it will turn out to be a great trade.

90 loss team last year. By whose standards do we have the 2nd worst farm team in major league baseball? Yet, still teams want our minor league talent and people here don't want to give it up. So strange to me. If it is that bad then trade all those f***ers for any kind of major league talent you can get.

Sox interested in Crisp?
yeah - that is obviously it. Nail meet head.

Sox interested in Crisp?
What mess? The White Sox have a couple of holes and a couple of extra players. The White Sox have no more of a mess than the Cubs do and yet they are hit by winning a weak division last year and signing Fukudome. Ridiculous.

Sox interested in Crisp?
Oh boy - here we go with the innings pitched again. He has a knot in his shoulder that is not going away. Good luck to him. He is #3 at best. Orlando Cabrera is one of the best shortstops in the league when you take everything into account - offense, defense, and leadership qualities. This is not just an offensive game. Garland for Linebrink, OCab, and cash is an awesome deal. AWESOME! Not a bad use of resources at all.

Sox interested in Crisp?
I am implying that you probably shouldn't be comparing yourself to one of the best presidents of all time in anyway whatsoever. JMO.
-
Sox interested in Crisp?
And I, for one, am damn glad it's not your job if you would have paid 18-20 mil per year for a player like Torii Hunter. That is the only way that deal would have been completed. Miguel Cabrera? Hell, what could you have done? Nothing!
-
Sox interested in Crisp?
Yeah - great comparison.

Sox interested in Crisp?
How do you know what the options are? Strictly FA options? Yes, you are right. There is hardly anything. That doesn't mean that there is nothing out there. Hell, I didn't know Orlando Cabrera AND cash could be had for Jon Garland. I didn't know Quentin could be had for Carter.
-
Sox interested in Crisp?
No - that is a huge upgrade over Uribe. He probably should not have signed Uribe, but I can't say what was going on before he made that decision. I don't know what other options he had or what kind of position he would have been in if he didn't sign him. Other than that I have a hard to believing that the Hunter or MCab deals had any effect on the Garland/Cabrera deal. That should have been done either way.
