  1. This is getting insane. What did you want him to do, spend 20 million for 5 years on Torii Hunter? We don't have the prospects to get a Miguel Cabrera. What the hell did you want him to do? Come on!
  2. 2008 - losing Garland is not a big hit to the rotation. Rowand doesn't help address the needs this team needs and what KW and Ozzie are looking for. I think Fukudome is going to be looked at as a terrible signing and the White Sox already have a RFer named Jermain Dye. Fukudome is not a good CFer and doesn't want to play CF. I am glad they didn't get either one of them. I would much rather have Josh Hamilton who is a lefthanded hitter and plays a very good CF. Just my opinion.
  3. There is nothing wrong with complaining and not accepting failure. It is another thing altogether to think that you (not you in particular) smarter than the general manager and assuming that there are other trades out there that can or should be made that he is not making. It is also quite different to criticize and start complaining about an unfinished product. There are other options out there for KW to get for CF. Lets see what he does about it. He has a while to get it done. I like his moves so far this off season. Orlando Cabrera is much needed. Scott Linebrink is much needed. Carlos Quentin was a hell of a pickup. He has addressed 3 big needs in LF, SS, and bullpen. He has pieces that don't fit with 2 SSs and 2 3Bs. He needs a CFer and leadoff hitter. Lets wait and see what he does to address these issues before we start complaining and criticizing about an incomplete product. I don't like his talk. I could do without that. But lets just be a little smarter about all of this and not just jump on board with what the talk radio hosts are saying. Take a step back, take a deep breath, and realize that it is December 14 - very early in the offseason.
  4. It is pretty obvious that it does take that kind of player for KW to deal Fields.
  5. I never mentioned Crede at 1B. Maybe Fields' best position is 1B in the long term. Maybe he stays there and they either re-sign Crede or get another 3B.
  6. I don't mind trading Paulie K at all. This would be the fastest way to make this team younger and more atheletic. I like the idea of Fields at 1B and Crede at 3B for next year, especially since Crede has 0 trade value. I think trading Konerko would help this team out a lot more than trading Crede right now. We all know the team needs. If they can fill a couple of those by trading Paulie then that is great with me. Would Thome want out then?
  7. The White Sox will have one - Schoenweis. I believe the Athletics, Giants, Mets, and Yankees will have the most on that list. I agree that there will be more pitchers on there than most expect.
  8. No one ever said his KW made a better offer. Levine said it was about the same. What that means, I don't know. The fact is that Fukudome didn't want to push Dye aside and the White Sox didn't want him playing CF. They know he can't play CF. Let Japanese Jacque Jones play in Wrigley Field and get paid double Jacque Jones did. They couldn't wait to get him out of town, but now they have the Japanese version. Good luck with that.
  9. The offseason has been, what, 2 months with about 3 weeks of meaningful offseason stuff happening? I don't think that Linebrink signing was so bad after seeing what some of these other relievers are getting paid. I think he is paid just about right. Plus this bullpen desperately needed a veteran in it. I like his two moves so far. I would like to see more and I am sure more will come. Don't get all hysterical about a few weeks into the offseason.
  10. I couldn't remember what it was. I thought he was either hurt or he wanted to get his family situated in the Domican Rep.
  11. It is December 12, 2007. Calm down. The White Sox had Hunter and he signed with someone else because they offered him 3 million more per year. I don't want him at that price. I would be embarrassed that we overpaid by that much. The White Sox didn't want Rowand for 5 years because they know he isn't that good and he won't be that good in 2012. I didn't want him anyway. I didn't want him anyway. I don't think he makes this team better. He is not a good fit. Fukudome didn't want to come here because he didn't want to push Jermaine Dye out and the White Sox know he can't play CF. Again, not a good fit. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too. It is December 12, 2007. Calm down.
  12. That is not true. Post what you want, but at least tell the truth.
  13. Good point, and that is why I wouldn't want to part with Danks for him. I think Danks will be better than a lefthanded Garland.
  14. Good post. I am not sure I would want to trade Danks for Hamilton though.
  15. hey hey, no one mentioned giving up anything for a little piranha. I would assume tyner or punto would be cheap to sign. Definitely not worth any kind of player in return.
  16. I agree. I would be very excited about an acquisition of Hamilton. I would like to get both Hamilton and Alexei Ramirez to be honest. You then have Ramirez play in the minors for a year and hopefully become your SS next year and have Hamilton play CF. That would be one hell of a core of young position players if everything works out nicely.
  17. hmmm, sounds like a White Sox to me.
  18. Here is another option: Jason Tyner. How about one of the little piranhas coming over to join the White Sox and help out in CF. I don't know how good he can be or is, but he always played good against us and was non-tendered by the Twins. What do you guys think about him?
  19. next year - when they may not have the gold glover who hit .300 anymore. Then it is a hole.
  20. Wasn't he hurt or pulled himself out of that due to getting situated with his family? I can't remember everything involved, but there was somethign going on. Like I told Fathom - please show me something different. I can't find anything else on the guy but positive. I would love to see more. If you have other information then please show it to me. Thank you.
  21. Show me something different please.
  22. Totally agree. His contract would probably be cheap enough at either of those positions to help the team to afford some big names while other teams have these big Torii Hunter, Aaron Rowand, and Fukudome contracts to pay off.
