  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) It is just like a bull market in stocks. The fundamentals don't change, and things tend back to their norms. The Sox are the second team in Chicago. Second team + Small fanbase + Top 10 in mlb ticket prices = 20,000 fans instead of 30,000
  2. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) The Denver Post article mentioned Headley specifically because the Padres have several prospects ready for the majors, apparently including a hot third base prospect at AAA. Maybe Headley wouldn't be so pricey. Headley's also played LF in the past, so 3B isn't his only position.
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) That's still not worth offering the deepest discounts to your worst customers. If they want to discount a split or full season upper reserve that's ok. A majority of mlb teams don't have a problem with sub $10 tickets. Why do the Sox - or you for that matter?
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) It's bad business to offer the deepest discounts to your worst customers (single-game ticket buyers) Your future season ticket holders come from the families of single game buyers. It's an investment in the future of your fan base.
  5. Sports tickets are like hotels; a perishable item. Sports teams should do everything in their power to fill their stadium every game. Even if it means $5 tickets in the Upper Deck for every non-premium series the entire season.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) Hakeem/Ewing was nice. Though Ewing was never viewed as a top 5 player. Robinson/Ewing never saw each other in the finals. Ahem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_NBA_Finals
  7. I'd rotate Viciedo with Rios some too. Couldn't hurt to get a little time in RF this year.

    "Vial", Marko.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) So I managed to get Scarlet Fever somehow. I can see that. She was pretty hot in The Avengers! /get better soon!

Good thing that I wasn't planning on watching Prometheus. Between you guys and the previews, I feel like I've watched the whole film already.
  11. Olajuwon/Ewing Robinson/Ewing were both top matchups
  12. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) that same seat at teh box office is $29. the deal is on stubhub. unless you have a code. It's not a deal - overall. It doesn't matter where they are for sale.
  13. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) so we have to keep stewart up here then I'd rather have Quintana in the rotation than Humber at this point.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) I'm not about to give up on Phil Humber. Seems like Robin and I have about the same amount of patience for struggling players Humber has been better in the bullpen than the rotation. Perhaps he'd be a good long reliever.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) Say... Why would Houston want to move him? They don't. Hey, there's been bigger miracles.
  16. Say... You know who can play 3B? Jed Lowrie.
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) I hope to god we don't f*** another guy (Quintana) by putting him in the pen for no reason He could take Humber's spot...
  18. Stewart's the first one in AAA when Danks comes back. I think Quintana and Humber stay.
  19. If he played a whole season, Danks might have more Ks in LF than his brother would have on the mound.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Because however you do it, it's going to be messy down the stretch. I still think the right thing to do, if you're worried, is to give Sale a break every 5th or 6th start. Use mr offday or a callup. Doing so right now could be rough since we're missing Danks, but when Danks comes back, use that to give Sale a skpped start. It's like Strasburg with this situation. The Nats are balking and back-tracking with Stras as well.
  21. End Sale at 80 pitches, then. Of course, 80 pitches could be 4 innings, it could be 6 innings, it could be 7. How can you truly measure innings limits? Why not have a season-long total pitch limit if they're that concerned?
  22. Stubhub has Sox - Brewers tix starting at $25 for nosebleeds. Ridiculous. I'll wait until a couple days before the games and see if the prices drop.
  23. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) I've come to the conclusion it's a Bear's town. which Bear is it?
