  1. Dekker v. McDermott for white man most likely to take over the world!
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2012 -> 07:54 AM) In your own mind... absolutely. That is a truly ironic statement. Creighton v Wisconsin tonight.
  3. Yes. But social stereotypes make it so that its not really considered.
  4. Saw Lincoln, it was not what I expected. It was good though, could have been better I think. (edit) And they used "Battle Hymm of the Republic" sparsely, which was slightly disappointing.
  5. According to SS2k's logic I must be an elite program, because people keep talking about me. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
  6. Seeing as merely responding about a certain school is seen as evidence of that schools importance. I will not mention it. Fathom, You are a reasonable guy, I have no animosity. The we are so special attitude bothers me, I think respect is earned. And for whatever reason when people act like that, I cant help but try and bring them back to reality. It is definitely not my most admirable trait.
  7. I knew what you meant, I just wanted to say its not something that is often discussed, so I didnt want it to seem like I knew what other people thought on the issue. I also am not religious, so I dont care about it at all. Its hard to explain. The best I got is its a Jewish version of Mecca, but its way older with much more significance. Then add in that it was destroyed twice and now another religion has a Mosque on it. Its a really bad situation.
  8. No idea, I have never taken a poll. But in my opinion the entire religion is built around the messiah, etc, so its really important to them. They have been b****ing about this temple for thousands of years. It was destroyed twice. That is how infatuated they are with it.
  9. Jerusalem is shared right now. But the Jews want to rebuild the temple so that the Messiah can come, that is the whole point of the entire religion. It has to be built in an exact location. You keep thinking this is a rational discussion. Its not, its insanity.
  10. I dont even know what people are talking about in this thread anymore. Mr. sup jordan?
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Well someone can either just deal with things as they are and break the problem into two separate countries. The alternative is fight to the death and I'd like to tell the Jewish community that they're outnumbered 17 million to 1 billion and their "greatest friend" the USA is unlikely to involve themselves in a World War over the issue. As I explained, you cant just split it into 2 countries, because thats not what this is about. Its about a very specific piece of land for the Jews, where the original temple and second temple were built. It just so happens that after the second temple was burnt down, the Christians built the "Temple Mount" on top of the site. After the Christians lost Jerusalem, the Muslims then turned Temple Mount into Rock of the Dome (which I believe is considered the 3rd most holy Muslim site.) Your point about the US is exactly right. While I welcome the fact that we are in a brief moment of history when someone is actually supporting the Jews, I have no doubt that one day that may not always be true. In fact many Jews are very suspicious of the "help" they receive and what the ulterior motives are behind it. For 60 years the Jews have received support, thats a drop in the bucket compared to thousands of years of being persecuted. Lets be clear though. I dont like how the Israelis treat Palestinians. I believe it goes against everything that being Jewish is. That being said, its hard to be compassionate when their leaders repeatedly state that they want to murder me just because thousands of years ago my relatives happened to be Jewish. The part you dont seem to realize is that many Jews believe that they are always fighting to the death for their right to survive.
  12. The first thing we need to accept is that there is nothing that the US can do. This is about religion and a stupid piece of land that 3 religions claim as theirs. There is no solution, because the fanatics will never agree. How can you convince a Jew to give up rebuilding the temple? The only possible way their Messiah will return? How can you convince a Muslim to allow the Jews to tear down the Dome of the Rock, in order to rebuild their temple?
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 07:22 PM) I want to know the explanation for our insistence on the "pro-Israel, f*** everyone else" foreign policy. There are 2 main reasons. 1) Israel provides us with a strategic ally in an area that has oil. 2) Guilt over the US policies towards Jewish immigrants in WWII. Neither of them make it right.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) Jewish...lawyer...joke...overload... Yeah im quite the stereotype. I do not usually bring it up, because its really not that important. But in this thread, when you have someone attacking the US-Israel relationship, I just have to wonder, what is his real purpose.
  15. Kap, Are you Jewish? Im asking this seriously, because I am.
  16. Ive had to cancel going out the last 2 nights because of illness. Damn you sinuses.
  17. Kentucky down early to Morehead St. Here are some odd stats: Morehead State- 11/28 from the field UK- 6/17
  18. Getting sick right before vacation just sucks.
  19. Steam has some pretty good deals on computer games right now. I just grabbed Civ 5 (with all dlcs and updates) for around $40. Im not convinced that its better than Civ IV but for that price Ill give it a test drive.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) Illinois is the most talked about program in this thread. Therefore, Illinois has the biggest target on them in all of college basketball. Big 1 little 13, Illinois is the 1!
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Yep, Indiana isn't a target, yet everyone is here talking about them. Point. People would talk about Wisconsin if I said asinine things like: "Wisconsin is the only reason the big 10 has been in the spotlight the last 10 years." If you want to have smug and arrogant attitudes, expect that people are going to call you out on the nonsense.
  22. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) You hold on to that hope that that record will remain somewhat the same. You're going to be in for a shock. And please, how is Crean and Indiana disrespecting the Bigten and it's coaches????? Looks to me like he put the Bigten in the spotlight the past two years. He's not badmouthing anyone. I recall earlier this year him praising Wisconsin and Ryan every chance he got saying their the team in the conference to look out for. It's the same s***, different day with you and all things Indiana. It's pathetic, really. You're so damn butthurt, it's sad. We get it. You don't like Crean. You didn't think Indiana would come storming back. He's "creaning" kids left and right, but yet you can't find one article or instance to support your BS from a former player speaking out against him. Newsflash, he's in the bottom 1/3 of the B1G in transfer rates since he got to the bigten. I dont hold onto any hope that Indiana will be bad. I want Indiana to be good so that the Big 10 is respected. As for the bolded what are you talking about? Indiana didnt even win the Big 10 last year, they didnt win the Big 10 the year before. Can you quit acting like Indiana has actually done something recently in the Big10. Its the arrogance that annoys me. You want to be arrogant like Crean, expect people to call you on your bulls***. Why would I be upset about Indiana? They wanted to pay me to go to their school, they were nothing but nice to me. Its fans like you who annoy me, win games and then brag. You act like your MSU or OSU, youre not. Im not talking about whether Indiana will win the next 100 big 10 titles, thats the future. If that happens Crean and Indiana fans can crow all day long about how great they are. But as it stands now, Indiana hasnt done jack in almost a decade. Those are the facts, get over yourself.
  23. The oddity of that game is that it was an exhibition for Faith Baptist but a real game for Grinnel. One of Faith Baptist's players, David Larson, scored 70 points on 34-44 shooting.
  24. Yeah that record is a joke. But espn will cash in on anything that draws viewers.
  25. 19-53 in the Big 10. I guess that is special. And Indiana could become one of the top teams in the Big 10, there is no doubt in my mind. Its just Crean should show some respect to the schools who actually have represented Big 10 basketball over the last 10 years, the schools that kept the Big 10 brand strong while Indiana basketball was making a mockery of the conference.
