  1. It makes me so happy Bliss is already the #1 contender to the RAW Women's title...

    Bayley is going to get completely hulksmashed on the mic.

    I can't believe how badly the WWE botched Bayley as of late to the point she's getting booed. I mean, seriously...how do you take a heroic character like Bayley and find a way to turn the crowd on her? I almost feel bad for her because if they let Bliss talk s***, holy hell this is going to be awesome. :D

    It's kind of been oddly kept under wraps I feel but there's a Takeover now the day before Backlash in Chicago. There's an Evolve show during the day that Saturday as well. Think I'm going to hit up Evolve, Takeover and Backlash which is just stupid but whatever, it'll be a good time.

    I've got tickets to Backlash already -- but if those above rumored trades occur, I will be enormously heart broken. :(

    So you don't watch NXT as a series, you don't care about matches with out a backstory but you watch the NXT ppv's? To each their own.

    And I had a feeling that was going to be your response on the New Day and Enzo and Cass. I'm not going to argue much on that as there is a reason I've soured on both(thought I still get a kick out of the New Day at times). Still, their mic skills are what got them over and they're good at what they do. Might not be for me or you but they're definitely good on the mic.

    I guess I really don't disagree with you there...like you said, to each their own -- I just don't care for their shtick.

    I also understand that these shows have to have a bit of something for everyone...so while I don't like it, I do understand why it's there.

    No, I'll watch matches when people rave about them or tell me to check them out -- but I don't really watch NXT PPV's either. ;)

    Only character left on NXT I like is GLORIOUS. ;)

    I literally keep up with RAW and RAW PPV highlights, but watch Smackdown religiously (and Smackdown PPVs). That may change with the talent shuffle, but that's the way it is now.

    If you're not Emma's biggest fan then that's understandable but call her crap is just incorrect and it's funny cause everything you ranted about that you like is stuff she's good at.

    Since you edited this, let me reply to this in specific.

    Emma was fine until the whole Emmalina thing...like I said, that soured me on her...and now I just don't care. It became a running joke that wasn't funny, and I know that's not her fault, but meh...

    I'm sure she'll win me over but it's gonna take a bit.

  6. An example of what I mean, Jake the Snake had good mic skills -- not because he said the same damn thing every week and the crowd chanted along with him, but because when he talked, you listened, and what he was saying was relevant to the story he was involved with.

    I can give numerous examples just like Jake the Snake...and Enzo/Cass and New Day do NOT apply to this. They're slogan chanting silly machines...nothing more.

  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 04:29 PM)
    And Emma is a great character worker and the story with Asuka was well done so I don't get where you're coming from there. Omega is also a fantastic interview but that's fair if it's not your style. I mean, everyone has their things they prefer in wrestling so you're entitled to your opinion on what you like most like the rest of us. I do find it funny that you went on this rant about liking mic skills and then also mentioned Enzo/Cass and the New Day as crap.

    I don't watch NXT as a series, so I never saw any story -- all I saw was the match...so it was meaningless action to me.

    Let me clarify my thoughts on "mic skills". For me, mic skills obviously don't mean the same thing as they do to you. I don't consider getting a crowd to chant silly s*** along with you as having good "mic skills". Mic skills are the ability to get your character across, thus getting the story across. Spewing the same nonsense every week, while fun for a large portion of the audience (and I'm sure it's fun live), just isn't my thing.

    I HATE New Day...I absolutely despise them, because they're embarrassing and silly. They represent an aspect of pro-wrestling I find mind-numbingly embarrassing, and it's stuff like that which makes people laugh at it, and literally why I hid the fact I was a wrestling fan for so long.

  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 03:28 PM)
    Anyone who thinks Emma is crap needs to watch her match with Asuka from London about a year and a half ago. It was awesome.

    And as annoying Enzo has become, he and Cass are still super over.

    I hold almost no regard for "wrestling" in relation to pro-wrestling in general, so Emma's match with Asuka did nothing for me. Was it good wrestling? Sure...also didn't care about any of it.

    I care about the entertainment aspect far more than the actual wrestling...IE, the character and the mic skills of that character outweigh sheer wrestling ability with me, because the wrestling isn't "real" anyway. Now, don't get me wrong when I say this -- when they do wrestle, I like it to be as fluid and real looking as possible -- but I'm so burned out on punches and high spots and crazy moves these days that they've lost their effectiveness.

    The story being told leading to the big match is just as important to me as the story told in the ring...

    A bunch of chain wrestling? I just don't care...unless it's telling a story and it's happening between two characters I'm invested in, anyway. And you can't get me invested in a character just because they can wrestle...they need to be able to tell me that story.

    There are a ton of great wrestlers on the indy circuit...but none of them are in AJ's league because they don't have the personality he has, the same can be said of many others. Take Kenny Omega for example...probably one of the best "wrestlers" in the world...his interview style is weird and I don't like it...therefore I just don't give a s*** about him.

  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 03:01 PM)
    Calling Emma crap is silly. She's really good in the ring, plays a great character and ain't too shabby to look at either. There's plenty of rumors about who is going where so I wouldn't get crazy yet. It seems likely AJ is going to raw, wouldn't be surprised if Alexa does either but I'm sure they're not getting just tag teams back.

    The whole 500 months of Emmalina soured me on her...I just don't care now.

  10. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 11:31 PM)
    Wyatt's booking is what killed them. Booking of the Wyatt's is perhaps the worst thing next to giving Reigns every single opportunity.

    AJ To Raw would be fun with the Club and Finn.

    I hear Enzo/Cass to SD. I think that's a smart decision, they could be a top team there and win the title.

    If you trade AJ to RAW in light of Cena leaving -- you may as well cancel Smackdown. Nakamura will not be able to carry that show on his own with just the Miz to go heel against him.

    This talent shuffle HAS to even out the rosters in the end.

    I keep hearing the same thing from the IWC -- that AJ and Bliss are going to RAW for crap like New Day and Enzo/Cass/Emma. Do that and other than Nakamura matches against Miz, I could stop watching the rest of Smackdown entirely.

  11. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 09:31 AM)
    Is it because he retired a lifelong favorite, or because he's bland in the ring and on the mic and they're tired of seeing him be the focus of storylines all the time (e.g. 3 WrestleMania main events in a row)?

    I think this is totally intentional. His booking is completely irrational. Gets booed, treat him like a face. Constantly defeats multiple guys, pretend he's an underdog. Repeatedly given sweet opportunities, pretend like he's kept down by the man.

    It's like a weird meta experiment where they're trolling fans and causing them to hate-watch Roman-related portions of the show (and hate-watching can be enjoyable).

    It IS weird.

    Which is why I said they need to go all in on him as a heel. It's obvious fans love to hate him, otherwise his merchandise wouldn't sell like it does. It does seem rather disconnected that they keep pretending like he's some underdog, etc...but I think they really want him to be accepted as a babyface, but he's just not...so they need to accept that and go with it now.

    Now is the time to strike when it comes to Roman as a fully fledged heel.

  12. Whoever claims Roman isn't "over" doesn't understand wrestling whatsoever.

    The issue with Roman is, and I partially agree here, is that he's as over as a heel as it gets yet they insist on trying to portray him as a babyface. Take RAW tonight for example...Roman had TREMENDOUS heat with that crowd, and for good reason. He just retired a lifelong favorite of many of the fans. So what does the WWE do? They have (I think it was Michael Cole) spew nonsense that some fans boo and some fans cheer because it's all "part of the fun".

    No, that's not why they're booing him...they're booing Roman because they don't like him, and that's fine -- but GO WITH IT now. He could be a top heel the likes of when Hogan turned, but he has to own that character. Roman's promo was *almost* perfect on RAW, standing there listening to the crowd vent with that smarmy smirk on his face. What he said was great, but he needs to just go all in now, and the WWE needs to allow it -- at that moment, with that kind of heat from the crowd he needed to say -- quite simply -- "And you can all kiss my ass."

    And I agree -- the Undertaker was done, and he did the right thing by passing the torch to Roman.

    Any recommended sugar substitutes? I need my coffee sweeened but need to ditch sugar.

    If you tend to eat a lot of candy and processed foods, sure...stevia and whatnot -- but if the amount of sugar you intake is limited to your morning coffee and a few pieces of fruit, you're ok using regular sugar to this extent. ;)

    You'll often hear people recommend Agave Nectar, but stay away from this stuff. While it has a low glycemic index and is backed by mega-marketing, it's higher in fructose than high fructose corn syrup (yeah, no s***). Agave nectar is about 85% fructose, which is about 35% higher than high fructose corn syrup or sugar.

  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 07:54 AM)
    To me this is shaping up to be a lot worse than last year cause they have a full roster. Waste Styles, waste Cena, waste Miz, Goldberg/Brock is the ME. At least adding Luke to Bray-Randy makes that semi interesting. Overall just bad.

    Yes but Goldberg/Brock is the ME specifically because they're pushing people like the Wyatt's, and while they're all IWC darlings...the WM crowd (which is probably majority casuals) just don't care about the Wyatt's as much as the IWC wishes they did.

    My wife is a casual (total mark, constantly asks if what just happened was real)...and she can't stand any of the people with hillbilly beards. Automatically hates them all and just doesn't want to see them...even calls the Wyatt entrance boring as hell even if it looks kinda cool, though she does like Randy Orton...

    She likes wrestlers like AJ, Miz, Cena, etc...and I think she's pretty close to the reality of most casual fans...if any of them were headlining wrestle mania, she'd be on board. But she literally said last night, "Well, there's a match I can skip" when it looked like Harper was going to win and move onto WM in a predictable 3 way against Orton/Bray...and I guarantee she hopes Orton wins if that happens.

    I get it, I'm a fan of the Wyatt's now...it took me a bit, but I'm on board...but I also get why casuals just don't care about them, and likely never will.

    Hence...you get things like Brock/Goldberg sucking the spotlight...they look like legit stars...the Wyatt's simply do not.
