  1. Chris Heston gets no hitter. His k-zone was about 5 miles long.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 07:10 PM) SoSoto is***ting .294/.368/.353 vs. LHP, a really hipot lefty is facing the Sox but the b****ing continues because Gillaspie, LaRoche, Sanchez, and Shuck are riding pine vs. a lefty? Soto should play ever day. Flowers is the problem.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) Yeah, a lot of the articles I was reading had him in rounds 3-5. Baseball America had him 69 overall. Next closest available college player was like 120.
  4. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 06:27 PM) btw, since round 1, the sox didn't even attempt to take the BPA. Hickman was definitely a bpa pick in round 7. He was a round 3 talent. The only other names even in the conversation would be would be high schoolers who aren't likely to sign with anyone let alone a team with a small bonus pool.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 06:02 PM) You know, one day in my lifetime there will be a pitcher who also hits even on his off days because he is just that good Too bad Mike Hampton was a NL guy
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) Remember, even if Fulmer goes at slot, with our draft pool we get the 5% to play with plus whatever we saved from the two 10K's + Erwin. That is enough to be able to give a few guys a couple hundred K or one guy half a mill. Not saying it will work but I'm sure there are some top few round guys that will end up taking that. It all comes down to the relationships our scouts have with the various guys to see who they think are worth the gamble. Too bad the 5% rule publishes those with already small draft pools even further. I imagine the Astros for example can play with like 500k more than us when that rule comes into effect.
  7. I don't think any of our guys will go over slot. And good chance more than just Hinchley and Grines go underslot. I imagine the sox think they'll have enough to play with.
  8. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 05:13 PM) Hit .357/.456/.506 across 4 years with Fresno City College and Michigan. Also hit well in the Cape Cod League. Like that pick a lot better than the 9th. Nice stats and anotheanother pick to save money. Must have some big plans tomorrow
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) Danny Wright comes to mind, but I can't remember his exact college numbers. I do remember them being ugly. Iirc we drafted a guy with a big time arm relatively early, I think from a Texas school, with just dreadful stats last year. Can't remember his name but I bet he sucks.
  10. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) Not sure on the point of this guy, even as a senior sign. His numbers are terrible. They'll sign him for 10k. Probably another guy who came through the sox academy. Perhaps a favor to someone for some goodwill down the line.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Why did Hickman fall so far? Obviously very signable. Mechanics straight forward. Medical or he told teams to f off and he'd only sign with the sox.
  12. According to his bio, he was named White Sox Double Duty selection in 2008 and has a bunch of other accolades since then from the Sox.
  13. man's been involved with the White Sox since basically forever ago. Seems like a long time coming.
  14. Blake Hickman. #69 on BA's top 500. BY FAR the best college player available.
  15. Corey Zangari, drafted as a 1b man 355 on BA's top 500. Okay.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 01:23 PM) Dejong goes the pick before the sox. Lame Sorry were picking 142 not 132. My bad
  17. BA's top 5 bpa: 21. Everett, p, hs 39. Hooper, p, hs 41. McCarthy, OF, Uva 53. Molar, p, hs 58. Baker, 1b/p, hs
  18. Dejong top catcher availble (if he stays there). I wanted him in round 4. McCarthy top college player available, also wanted him with the last pick. Hoping for one of these. That's if we stay the college route. Don't know much about the hsers.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) Smells of Jace Fry Fry was way, way more dominant though, fwiw.
  20. Uninspiring. Hopefully mccarthy can last til the next pick
  21. #117 on BA's draft board. 7-4 3.04 ERA. Was a reliever up until this year. Perfect game has his fastball at 87 mph, but probably very old report. Meh pick
