  1. He was bad last night. No other way to spin it. Kept Illinois close. He did make some nice passes, but it takes a pg with with an iq of about 20 to get the ball down low last night. Him trying to shoot while Illinois kept inexplicably switching Egwu on him was flat out stupid.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 06:20 AM) Phil Pressey with the most impressive 3-19 performance you will ever see. That was a fun game to watch, Illinois wasn't gonna win them all, DJ & BP3 went 3-17 from behind the arc, it happens. Just be ready to play at the UC next weekend, Auburn just lost home to Winthrop so that needs to be an easy W. And back off all you Tyler Griffey haters. Griffey was dreadful. Is there a site that tracks cbb +/-?
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 06:39 PM) LOL It was true. Thought Dykes might fellate him. Maybe then he could have hit something.
  4. Tyler Griffey pretty much single handily lost the game for Illinois tonight, even with a couple key 3s. Anytime he came off the floor, Illinois made a run. When he was on it, they had no chance at stopping Missouri.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 01:41 AM) Refs have lost control of this game. Meanwhile, Phil Pressey trying to go 0-20 from the floor it seems. Yeah, he's keeping Illinois in this while the announcers think he's Isiah Thomas.
  6. This game is out of control. About to be full-on Xavier-Cincy. Teddy V got in between two players to calm them down...while play was still going on.
  7. Yes, get to complain about the refs, my favorite. Giving a T to McLaurin for doing nothing was a joke.
  8. We desperately need a starting catcher. Everyone for Matt Wieters.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) Matt Spiegel ‏@MattSpiegel670 Hawk Harrelson had to sell Kenny Williams on the idea to sign A.J. Pierzinski. Hawk talks AJ's Sox career with @MacAndSpiegs at 3 pm. Is he the best FA signing in Sox history ( not including guys who returned)? Off the top of my head he is.
  10. QUOTE (staxx @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 04:23 AM) As do I, but personally at this point in time believe we have little shot versus the tigers this year, why not try to develop flowers? What if he turns into a legit .260/20/75 threat? Hahn will look like a magician, But yes i know, what if he doesnt, well then were all in for a long summer.... go D'Backs? He won't. Tyler Flowers is awful. I know we are a little out of MLB season and we may be forgetting some, but it was just a few months ago where we all wanted him gone because he wasn't a good enough back-up catcher. One that barely played. Now he's our starting catcher. Well, I don't think he will be. Hopefully Hahn has another move.
  11. QUOTE (staxx @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 05:18 AM) one year on a semi-cash strapped team? I think you would be surprised. There are many doubters in AJ's year last year, wouldnt be surprised for him to be below career AVGs next year Sometimes thinking like a business owner > *** Oh, I have no doubt this was a business/saving payroll move.
  12. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 05:14 AM) I'd love to see a poll that asked MLB GM's who'd they rather have as their starting catcher going forward: AJ or Flowers. I bet most of you guys would be surprised. Hahn had the choice. He chose Flowers. Deal with it. For one year? Yeah, there is not a GM in baseball who would go with Flowers.
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 12:24 AM) Downgrade??? Catchers are about defense AJ's sucked lately Uh, yeah, "downgrade". Not even the biggest Tyler Flowers backers would argue otherwise.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 12:10 AM) Tyler Flowers had a .708 OPS last year in partial playing time. We got nothing close to that from our 3B last year prior to Youkilis coming on board. Plus Flowers is a much better defensive catcher. Most of us love AJ here, but he's not going to repeat last year and we need to see what we have in Flowers. IMO, this was the correct baseball decision. That's why I said almost. Flowers is not the answer. Far from it. Fortunately he's not as bad as Morel, because, well, that's pretty much impossible. But the catcher position just became a massive hole. One that we seemingly have no solution to correct. If we want to compete for a division title, which I had thought we did, then this move makes 0 sense.
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 12:10 AM) Giminez, Phegley, not sure of your definition of capable. A potential starter at catcher in MLB at some point. Flowers is not one, or at least not a decent one.
  16. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) Yeahfor the bottom line, we'll see about the box score. Yeah, the only way to possibly defend this move is from a business perspective. We just got a massive downgrade in a huge position of need. Do we have any capable catchers in the minors?
  17. Love how people are so happy to move on from him. We have Tyler Flowers now as a starter. Tyler Flowers is an awful f***ing baseball player. Someone we all wanted cut at the ASB last year. Now he is the future. Great. The catcher hole is now almost bad as the 3B was.
  18. The chatter from people closest has been MSU for months. Don't know why the national guys were so convinced that it was Duke. I don't even think think they finished 2nd
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 07:49 PM) Or maybe we've found the transitive property to be unreliable. Transitive property is for three teams. This is only two.
  20. He resubmitted his ballot with Indiana at six. In other crazy ESPN rankings though, Katz put butler sixth.
  21. Can't imagine the answer being anyone other than Gordon Beckham.
  22. So yeah, I started Josh Freeman over Brady. And Wilson did s***. Nicks too. Two teams I want to do well get shut out. Luckily I had a 50 point lead.
