  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 09:44 PM) I still think there is something wrong with Arrieta and now Hammell? Hammel is just a first half pitcher. Fell apart last year as well. Maddon thinks he sucks as well, it seems.
  2. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 09:44 PM) Cubs are 7-0 against the Mets. They should be favored. That was also with Mets not having Wright, Cespedes and D'Arnaud. Most of those games were low scoring, and you have to think with the offensive improvements, the Mets would have won a few of those.
  3. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) John Lackey at 36 years old is the Cardinals "ace" right now. The Mets have arguably 4 or 5 starters that are better than Lackey. Hell, Bartolo might be better than him and he's in their bullpen right now. Put it this way...Lackey sucked pitching in a postseason game against Chicago....against the Sox in 2005
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 09:41 PM) And believe it or not, the Mets actually have a decent offense. Cespedes, Wright, d'Arnaud, Duda, Granderson, Conforto all with good power. Can't wait to watch Addison Reed again and pray he doesn't hang a slider
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:37 PM) Complained about the ball. Lackey already had it on the mound. And the ump had to come out to him to replace it. Ah yes, the whole "he's cheating, it's the only way we can lose" argument from Game 1.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) Oh my god that's the most Cubs bulls*** thing ever. Christ. Stepped away, what now
  7. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) The White Sox would play the Cubs tougher than St. Louis is right now. Definitely match up better pitching wise. When the Sox played the Cardinals this year, I didn't think they were much better than the Sox.
  8. With that said, that pick off is an example of how well coached the Cubs are. They probably have 15-20 of those this year, especially with Ross behind the plate.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:29 PM) My god the cardinals are dreadful Yes they really are. Pirates were a much better match-up in terms of best of 5 vs the Cubs
  10. Heck of a series for Holliday...not
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:23 PM) Eh STL is a shell of itself. LA or NY are much better teams. Couldn't agree more. Said in other thread I think us Cubs haters should root for Mets tonight, as two straight Dodgers wins means an unfavorable matchup in game 1 of NLCS of Arrieta vs Anderson/Wood/Bolsinger
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:21 PM) Well Hammel is trash so there's hope. Maddon is going to have him on an incredibly short leash unfortunately
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:19 PM) There goes my buzz. on the bright side, at least the Mets have pitchers with actual "stuff".
  14. first pitch fastball to Baez is just insane
  15. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:17 PM) I am sure he was but Matheny wanted Lackey Matheny is also the worst in baseball at handling a pitching staff by some metrics. Not sure there was anyone that thought Lackey pitching today was a good choice.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) And decision to pitch Lackey on 3 days rest already looks terrible. I really don't get why Garcia wasn't available.
  17. Ballgame, Cubs have a horseshoe so up their ass this season.
  18. Yay, 2 out RBI to the pitcher. Cardinals just have no pitching left.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) Sickening part is the crap i have to hear from cubs fans on a daily basis about how its a lock they will win the world series. It's clearly going to be awful living in Chicago for a while if they end up winning. Just have to hope they don't win it all and ends up shutting up the bandwagoners....until next season starts up
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) His plan is to play one more season if possible. According to Spiegel. Supposedly Braves really want to bring him back
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:24 PM) I'm not in Chicago, so tell me what it's like. Is it total Cub fever? Or are Sox fans helping keep down the craziness? Last night's game had all those home runs and chicks love the long ball, so what is it? Cub mania or just normal playoff atmosphere? Anything sickening? Cubs mania
  22. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) They've been breaking down all season. Wainwright, Martinez, Walden, Grichuk, Molina, Holliday, Adams
  23. Can he be Sale's personal catcher?
  24. Kurkijan said this morning on Mike and Mike that the Red Sox might have the best chance, followed by Cubs/Dodgers to get Price.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) ESPN showed the one when there was a fire at a library at Auburn, in which 20 books were destroyed. He said the tragedy was 15 of them hadn't been colored in yet. Loved the one about how you can't spell Citrus without UT
