I'd feel a lot worse about things if we gave Detroit someone like Adams for Cespedes, have the team tank the next 2 months, and then see Cespedes sign back with Detroit while Adams becomes a #3 starter.

How about the outside chance that the Sox know they have a great chance of extending Samardzija once the season ends, but only if he's still on the team?

If Samardzija had a contract like Cespedes, I'd be pissed. Since he doesn't, the compensation draft pick is quite valuable. No complaints here, let's see how the next few weeks go.

Not disappointed...if they keep playing well the next two weeks, I'm sure they'll add another bat if needed.
