  1. Tomorrow's quite an intriguing game with Sale going the following day.
  2. Anyone know how many times the Twins play KC the rest of the way?
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:04 AM) A double play would be neat. NEAT
  4. Not a fan of bringing in the worst reliever to face a lefty when they hit over .300 vs him
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:02 AM) Lost 5 of 6 at home does not nullify my point at all.. IF IF IF It's not like they played bad in those games. For example, when they literally struggled to score more than 1 or 2 runs the first half of the year.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:58 AM) Sort of surprised to see this from you to be honest. But I agree. Particularly if the return is the same for Kazmir. It's not like Samardzija is someone with a lot of years/money left on his deal, and Hahn would be missing out on clearing his salary (i.e.: trying to trade Danks last year would have been great).
  7. Ugh, pull him. Lots of pitches here without getting an out.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:57 AM) His pitch count was also fine for starting the 9th. Reminds me when sox talk (especially me) melted down when Peavy got left in the game an extra inning for what ended up being his last start before he got traded. He gave up a home run, and we went nuts.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:54 AM) Same deal if they lose 7 of 10 in August this team is beating bad teams. KC and Stl whipped the Sox last week. Sox didn't play that badly in those two series.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:54 AM) Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 2m2 minutes ago If the White Sox were seriously considering trading Jeff Samardzija, would they have him pitch the 9th in a 9-2 game? Just wondering. Great point
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:51 AM) Not me And what happens if they win their next 4 games after today and then E. Johnson starts (cause Samardzija's traded) and gives up 8 runs? This team was built to win this year, and they're playing their best ball of the season. Might as well see how it goes.
  12. I'm disappointed/shocked that De Aza didn't turn Sanchez's double into an inside-the-park homer
  13. The ironic thing is if they trade Samardzija tomorrow afternoon, a lot of us will be disappointed now
  14. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:45 AM) Let Shark finish this. Let Webb finish it. Samardzija will have to throw a lot of pitches likely vs the Yankees
  15. Anderson didn't play tonight....
  16. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:05 AM) Abreu and Sanchez loving it in the dugout Clearly Sanchez telling him that he didn't need help on his homers this weekend
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) The ironic thing is, for Samardjiza's value, you need him to pitch well. If he pitches well, that lessens the odds he's dealt. I hope the Sox win 12-0. The draft pick is always a fall back option. It will be interesting to see if he isn't traded, if some of the proposals are ever leaked. I think if they were for future HOFers, he would have been traded by now even if they don't want to wave a white flag. I think if they could have gotten MLB-ready offensive prospects for him, he would have been gone. As we talked about after the Kazmir deal, most of the better hitters traded at this time aren't close to being ready in a year, which wouldn't fit Hahn's plan.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) I'm calling the unprecedented 75 page game thread tonight. Including an epic meltdown if Samardzija pitches poorly
  19. I can only imagine the overreaction in this thread tonight if Samardzija gets torched and the Sox lose.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) Sean Manaea going to Oakland Wow
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) What's the story on Wheeler? I'd do this trade, I'm not sure the Reds do it though. Sox would have to take on Bruce's entire contract, as Reds are trying to cut costs.
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) They gave a top 100 prospect (not top 50) and a couple of other interesting pitching prospects and got to dump Reyes' contract in return for Tulo. Those interesting pitching prospects are the type we gave for, oh, say the rent of the mediocre Brett Myers in 2012. Hoffman has a chance to be a top 10 type prospect in a year if he stays healthy.
