  1. Wow...the players don't even know how many outs there are. This is one of the worst efforts in Sox history.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:48 AM) Yes he does, he did not put a lineup on the field designed to win this ballgame. And what pisses me off is that he knows that! He f***ing told the reporters that if Griffey is playing, then he has to play Wise to make up for the lack of speed out there.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) Wasn't it said that Griffey only waived his NTC because he was guaranteed CF? They said on the radio today that he told KW he wanted to play RF, and not CF. KW said he would have to play CF, and Griffey agreed to it then.
  4. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:47 AM) Hawk has been around long enough to know when you're going through a funeral procession. You guys are just a little too young and a little too naive to know it if you think this team is going to win ONE game this series. I disagreed earlier when you said it was over, but I completely agree that judging by Hawk, a Twins sweep is inevitable.
  5. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:45 AM) I hope Ozzie really rips into the sox if they lose. Yeah, since that worked so well yesterday.
  6. BTW, did you know that when KW acquired Griffey from the Reds, he told KW that he didn't want to play in CF.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:35 AM) Blame ozzie, not griffey, period. It's like getting mad at mackowiak before - not his fault he was put out there when he's not a cf. Griff only plays where and when ozzie says, if he was used properly, no one would hate him. Good thing AJP is batting 2nd. I'm sure there won't be any big at bats from that slot tonight.
  8. Brilliant managing having AJP bat 2nd. Terrible leadership.
  9. Hawk has given up on this series.
  10. That's more like it OC. Please AJ, please!
  11. As jphat says, everyone has gone into a slump at the same time (out of our usual starters).
  12. How many bad pitches can we let Baker get away with right now?
  13. As your sig says Milkman, this series shouldn't even have mattered. We've given away so many stupid games over the last few months by pitching guys like Ramirez.
  14. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:31 AM) I hope so. I don't even think about Chris Young anymore Haha, me neither. Chris Young has a special place in my heart for last season's postseason, so he's cool with me.
  15. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) They're a far better team than the Sox, that's all I'm saying... which shows you just how bad of a team the Sox are. No, they're really not. However, they have the huge advantage of having the last series of the rivalry at home, a place where we absolutely suck.
  16. Actually, you pull Javy sooner than later, as he might have to go on 3 days rest again (gulp).
  17. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:26 AM) Do you really see this team winning ONE game this series? My whole adult life this team has NEVER been able to beat the Twins in a pennant race. In 2005 the Twins weren't in it... This season is no different. Buckle up boys because we're going to need to win our last 4 games of the year including the makeup game just to make it to a 1 game playoff as we will be trailing by a 1/2 game after Thursday night....Twins will go 5-0 to finish this season after the easy W tonight which we've already given them Think of this like a 3 game divisional playoff to make the next round. If these guys can't win at least one game, then f*** them, they don't deserve s***. The only reason they have a lead still in the AL Central is because the Twins have collapsed.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:25 AM) Come on. It was obvious he was trying to challenge him, not rip him. If Javy can't respond in this situation, he's worthless. It was just a no win situation for anyone. There's a reason you don't see other coaches/managers do something like that.
  19. I don't care if we lose this game. However, the Twins are completely setting the table for just a monster series. The Sox seem defeated the second they step onto this field. Go Royals this weekend!
  20. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:22 AM) Ozzie is correct once again. Yep, and he proved what by saying that? Now, all he's done is make everyone hate Vazquez even more. Just a completely irresponsible thing for him to do yesterday.
  21. To hell with Ozzie Guillen. He made the choice to have a pitcher he can't trust start in this series, and he's the dumbass that continues to play Griffey. His managing down the stretch has been absolutely pathetic.
  22. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:20 AM) Nope..... honestly though...this thread is more depressing group therapy
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:18 AM) Javy Vazquez is an overrated, overpaid loser. Trade him to Pittsburgh or KC and he'll get Cy Young votes. You're the best with this. You know he'll rebound here and strike out 8 batters or so.
  24. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:19 AM) That is our only chance. Javy has a no trade, right? I think he would waive it to join Minaya, and that is it. Javy will be traded this offseason, no doubt about it.
  25. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:18 AM) I know exactly what you mean. I don't really like 'em. Not when when we have a bunch of old, ancient under-achievers starting...and guys like Swisher who were supposed to help have their head so far up their ass...and then depending on the nutless wonder Javy. I thought of this when seeing the lineups today....our big acquisition this offseason is so f***ing bad, he can't even start one of the biggest games of the decade for the Sox.
