  1. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) dude, they aren't going to be happy until he's fired, regardless of whether or not he leads this team to another parade, they want him FIRED. That couldn't be more wrong. I know he's not going to get fired, so I have to root for him to start making better decisions and using his personnel better. The only way that Ozzie isn't managing the Sox for at least the next 3 years is if he says something ignorant in the press again or he quits. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) It's been a while since this team shined on national TV in a regular season game Haven't we had a great record on Fox this year?
  2. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:37 AM) it's ruled as a force out, no hit, on gameday, for what it's worth It probably should be an error on Lowell for bringing the 2nd baseman off the base.
  3. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) Since we're winning big tonight and since we seem to rate Ozzie's performance as horses*** every night we lose ... would you detractors say Ozzie did a good to great job tonight?? I have a HUGE problem with Dye being left in this game. That's irresponsible by Ozzie. I love the fact he had a team meeting before this game though. Also, I think we can all say we're happy he shook the line-up up.
  4. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:33 AM) Eh, I don't know about that. We'll be 5 back if we hang on and win against Boston. With the way we've been playing, I don't see anything more than a split against Cleveland. If the Twins sweep, we'd now be 3 back against both Minny and Detroit while heading to Oakland/Anaheim. Plus Detroit has a much easier schedule, even if they are playing poorly. Well, if we only split this wknd, and then go on to struggle on the west coast, we're not going to make the playoffs. Sooner or later, we have to start winning more games than we lose. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:33 AM) If so....weird way to get a first hit. Fielder's choice
  5. That's a bad loss for the Twins. To be going for the sweep, and get that type of start for Silva, that's a game they have to feel like got away.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:31 AM) So....is that a single? Good question, I'd have to think so.
  7. Nice catch by Delmon, Twins lose! Please Ozzie, get Dye out of this game.
  8. Chris Stewart definitely crowds the plate. Warning track power = 2 outs
  9. I'm sorry, but there's absolutely no reason for Dye to still be in this game. Please take him out Ozzie!
  10. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) Delmon Young, nice work. His brother got released by the Tigers today. Ex-Sox players are having very strong years, as Frank, Valentin, Norton, and Durham have looked very strong this season.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) Did I hear the Mets have never had a no hitter? I'm pretty sure that's true. A more phenomenal stat is that the Bucs have never had a kickoff return for a TD.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Rather quiet when we play well... I was going to say that even though Sweeney has no hits, he looks pretty solid at the plate. I thought he hit his last pitch better, but it only went like 340 feet. I really hope he got it off the end of the back like Hawk stated.
  13. QUOTE(jenksd @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) That would have been the most brutal way ever to lose a no-hitter. They would have found a way to give him an error.
  14. What in the world was Hanley Ramirez doing?
  15. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) A double play Thanks Captain Obvious. Was it something special that made it "rule"?
  16. QUOTE(jenksd @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) for those watching the marlins game, that double play ruled What happened?
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) With the way the 2nd half has gone, this game is so far from over, its almost scary. No kidding
  18. Here's where it would be nice to add a few runs against the middle relief. We've got ourselves in trouble this year when we jump ahead, but then get shut down by long relievers, and the opposition jumps back into the game.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) It's just depressing to look and see we are winning solidly, but with Minny also winning...we gain nothing. Silva's on the mound...there's still a chance. Don't forget that the Twins/Tigers are guaranteed at least 2 losses this wknd.
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) God I hate watching Thome run. Scares the hell out of me. Who's slower, him or PK?
  21. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) is Bobby back with the team tonight? Yes, but Ozzie won't use him.
