sorry for the ignorance here, but if we acquire any guy that their contract runs out this year ( escobar, bryant, story) and we dont resign them or make them a qualifying offer do we get a sandwich pick in the next draft? I am unsure how that all work and could use some insight from the members on this board.
You can't off the QO to a player you acquire mid-season so any rental the Sox trade for will come with no compensation when they lose them in the offseason.

Incredibly good deal. Extraordinarily happy.

Let's fuckin go!! Feels like it's been an eternity. Baseball seriously becomes such a staple of your life, it's just expected that there'll be a Sox game on that night so when we get a few off-days in a row it's hell.

You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to doing this.

Too good to be true. Last week of July possible?
Rehab assignment can only last for 20 days, so yeah.

Really fun win, feels good to bury the Twins. 8 game lead in the central, incredible.

For a DFA it's a legit exciting move because of all that it signifies.

Same, but I think a big part of this is Sox not having room for a guy working through chain link injuries. Brian Goodwin had health, which clearly is now the premium.
You gotta be available to be valuable and his body's about done. I just can't imagine with Engel dealing with injuries and the high probability that Goodwin turns into a pumpkin sometime soon I think they're going to get someone, admitting to this mistake was the first step.

Yeah, this move shows they're not fucking around, I'm shocked as well but also delighted, he's clearly on his last legs. I do think this signifies they're making a deal for an outfielder.

The season is extraordinarily long and it's really hard to watch bad baseball, they've been playing mediocre baseball for awhile now. It's exhausting to live and die with every out of a baseball season, sometimes you just need to take a step back, nothing wrong with that.

3 firstbasemen in the lineup and it's Grandal playing first today. Not complaining, that's what I'd do too but it's funny.

Really wish they'd sit Abreu down for a game or 2 and see how he feels after, he's not doing anyone any favors playing through pain, he's certainly not helping the team.

Despite the offense doing its best to ruin my night with weak grounders to short I enjoyed my time at the ballpark. Man, did it feel good to just be out in a crowd, will probably haunt me for awhile that they couldn't get that crowd to explode, we were looking for any opportunity, the mini 8th inning rally felt good and the Yas homer but they blew it, wasted a 32k raucous crowd.

I also pulled the trigger on tickets for tonight. Give me a good showing, White Sox.

My two cents on the frustrating revolving door on who hits second. I’d like it to be more consistent. I’m thinking Anderson Moncada abreu bat in first three spots. It would in long run get yoan and Jose a few more at bats. Grandal would not be effected batting clean up or just have Yermin continue behind Jose mostly. Surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention this I believe. Thoughts?
I don't think TLR sees Moncada as a 2 hole hitter, he seems pretty well entrenched in the 3 spot right now.

A maybe even worse tag to that image, despicable from the White Sox:

There's no ability like availability, but he's still behind Buxton, Posey and Trout too even though they don't qualify.
Yeah, considering it's a counting stat I should have taken off the qualification, puts him 7th in the AL.

Up to 10th in MLB in fWAR tied with Arenado, Wendle, Adolis and Trae Turner, .1 behind Jesse Winker. Just an incredible season for him now, if the homeruns start coming he'll be unstoppable.
Man, Yoan is at 1.9 good for 5th in the AL but Vlad Jr. has compiled 3.2 WAR already.
