  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 04:55 AM) Yeah cause it was a low throw. Forsythe would have been out by two steps if Smith was able to get a good feed Saladino was on the move and had to throw on the run. We got the out at home. The run scored on a hit batter
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 04:52 AM) Whole bullpen is. Oh well, lose away I guess we can't expect much. All our good closer types have been traded
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 04:50 AM) It was a bad throw that prevented an easy double play That's not the way I saw it or did Row and. Smith couldn't get a good grip on the ball for the throw
  4. Pitching staff blows it
  5. Petricka gets a grounder with bases loaded and Saladino makes a nice throw home to cut down the runner
  6. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 04:42 AM) Thoughts on Bummer? He is like a number of our young pitchers. They can't throw strikes. It's like they are afraid to challenge the hitters
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 03:24 AM) How many at-bats does Moncada get at the big league level before they force him to hit lefty only? The only time he came close to not having a pronounced split was in 2015 (actually hit better from the RH side), his first year playing professional baseball. Jose Valentin comes to mind, but I believe his splits were even more dramatic than what Moncada's been doing in 2016 and 2017. He's a switch hitter. It's not an experiment. He will continue to switch hit
  8. Wood needs to lose another game so people don't think he's going to be another Koufax or Drysdale.
  9. I wouldn't denigrate Clippard and his ability. It appeared he worked with Cooper and made some adjustments in his delivery that certainly seemed to provide positive results. If nothing else those results convinced the Astros to trade for him. I was confused when we took him in the original deal from the Yanks, but he certainly had the credentials. Now the question is what do we get back from Houston. A decent prospect, or money with which to use to help sign free agents?
  10. Feel bad for Delmonico. Robbed earlier by Cain if a two run double and robbed in the 9th of a two run homer by Gordon. Game could have been real interesting,if not for the good D
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 08:37 PM) Way to miss two straight batters on the broadcast for some stupid shutout story no one cares about What was the purpose of the extended story anyway?
  12. I have not been an Infante fan. We have some work in the off season reworking the pitching staff
  13. Sox offense trying to make a game of it. Beck relieves and gives up two walks and then a run scoring single. Kills your rally
  14. Cain robs Delmonico of extra bases and saves two runs. That's what good defense can do
  15. Tim Anderson is turning things around. Saladini doubles and Abreu drives him in and then Avi singles. Let's go!
  16. Pelfrey relieves and has given up a homer, single and walk
  17. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 07:07 PM) I don't think Holland will be buying Leury dinner this evening, after the bad throw last inning and the bad route he ran this inning. Yep. Garcia showed his lack of experience today
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 07:07 PM) Next start at Texas for him. I hope people have helmets on in the bleachers We will hear all about how he needs to do better yada yada but he will be here until seasons end. Pelfrey too
  19. Pelfrey gives up the usual and also obligatory homer. A three run shot and it's 8-0 KC in the top of the third
  20. Derek seems to get two strikes quickly on the hitter and then falls apart Renteria pulls him for Pelfrey
  21. Holland gives up the usual and obligatory homer and it's 5-0
