  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2017 -> 04:31 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen‏Verified account @CST_soxvan 2h2 hours ago Daryl Van Schouwen Retweeted Daryl Van Schouwen Twenty-four of White Sox' first 62 scheduled games are at home. As Hawk says the schedulers have done us no favors the last two years. However. With more games at the former Comiskey in the warmer weather we might see more Sox offense
  2. We get singles and can't get clutch hits with RISP
  3. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 7, 2017 -> 08:34 PM) Covey should be in AAA developing but because he was a Ruke 5 pick, he has to develop at the ML level. Seems like a victim of circumstance. Pretty much it
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ May 7, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) I don't know how many times it needs to be said...the rebuild is on and what is the right thing to do. But Dylan Covey has no business pitching in the big leagues. Two different things. What we know about Fulmer is he's very talented and a mature person. Maybe this is his time to come and show he's progressed. The Sox saw something in Covey. Hard to figure it out right now. But, Fulmer might deserve to be up but di the offer Covey back or just wait it out? I am guessing Pelfrey or Covey is out when Shields is back
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2017 -> 05:38 PM) Whatever happened to all the rebuild guys, team must lose for draft picks? The guy has sucked. He is a rule 5 guy, and there is a 99.9% chance when you throw a rule 5 guy directly in a major league rotation, he will suck. The team is going nowhere. Why are the White Sox widely criticized on this board for "rushing" prospects, but every damn time there is the first sign of a guy sucking or of a minor leaguer going on a roll, the same people who b**** about it, want them to do what they b**** about? Let guys develop. It isn't necessary to see what some of these guys can do at the major league level yet. Make sure they are ready. Let Covey get destroyed while that happens. A good week, a good 2 weeks, a good month isn't proof. If you really want a rebuild, you have to be patient or it isn't going to ever work. It's more frustrating listening to the fans carry on about how bad a young player on the team is and then want him released and management to bring up a prospect, who they admit isn't ready. I guess they just want to complain and/or vent. Everyone seemed to want this rebuild and now that it's here they cry over every bad play, or poor pitching outing. You just have to get used to it for awhile.
  6. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 7, 2017 -> 07:03 PM) Can we just release asche No cause he hit a home run so we have to assume he can at some point hit another. And we are rebuilding
  7. QUOTE (daggins @ May 7, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) Still pretty early on Q, but he hasn't looked right in any of his starts, aside from dominating a bad Royals team. He probably gets moved in the offseason for one top 50 guy and some scraps. There us NO reason to force a trade
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2017 -> 06:48 PM) Yep it's great that of the three most important players on the 25 man roster for the Sox future, one is seemingly dead, one forgot how to hit and field and the other one can only get Royals out. We are rebuilding says everyone
  9. Everyone needs to simmer down now
  10. The Sky is literally falling and it's bloop hits
  11. The Orioles doing what we couldn't.
  12. We never got a ball out of the infield
  13. Let us strive mightily for the win
  14. Asche homered. Let's sign that guy to a long term deal
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2017 -> 01:31 AM) 4 innings for Covey...time for a new option. Went a bit to long with him
  16. Covey with two scoreless innings. Cooper must have fixed him
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ May 7, 2017 -> 12:11 AM) Don't think he has it in him. He'll be gone after tonight, and an arm will be added tomorrow. I will hazard a guess that Dylan will still be here after this game
  18. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ May 6, 2017 -> 05:15 PM) He's got a decent scouting report but seems to have had some setbacks. I haven't paid close attention to him pitching but if I remember correctly he got lit up at least once this year. Maybe he'll slide to the bullpen when Shields or Rodon gets back instead of being sent back to Oakland. Stone Pony and the guys keep saying that he is a sinker ball pitcher but he leaves everything up
  19. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ May 6, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Would it be so terrible to do that, or would it just be better to keep him up here to tank and see what this kid has? I guess it's what a rebuilding process looks like
