  3. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) simply having Wise in RF shows how much having a good defense helps. i really hope we stack our defense during the offseason. defense wins games
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Getz on second with the SB and AR walks. Let's see if .195 hitting D Wise cdan come through I guess not
  5. Getz on second with the SB and AR walks. Let's see if .195 hitting D Wise cdan come through
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) kotsay was safe, bad call. Q was so far out on his front foot on that swing. We are the recipients of lots of bad calls it seems
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) Carlos, sit back, wait for YOUR pitch. He ddin't and K's and Kotsay out stealing
  8. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) I actually do too. Seems like a good guy but the Cubs need to trade him. It'll in the best interest for both parties. He is washed up/overrated etc
  9. Beckham took the outside pitch up the middle which is the right thing to do. He must have felt our Karma
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) Torres was Jake Peavy-like. Jake must be rubbing off on the rookie already
  11. Who picthes the 8th and 9th? Thornton I hope as he would bring a completely different look
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) If anything, Wise has been contributing defensively. And he has stolen a base or two so he has speed
  13. Way to go Wise! Out at the plate. One more out for Torres so let's get out of the 7th with a 1-0 lead
  14. Nice pitching by Torres to that there Ramirez guy.
  15. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) I don't for one second believe CQ had a fluke year in 08,the man has real talent and I believe he'll come back strong in 2010 as long as he stays injury free. No argument here, but he is still playing hurt and as I said I think he is trying to hard and overcompensating. He is a battler for sure
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) Whenever Carlos isn't completely healthy, he's just insecure, or so it seems. He was horrible in 07 when he was half-way injured and the same is the case this year. He over compensates I think. He wants to do so well and make up for his own mistake last year when he cracked his wrist and then the foot injury
  17. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) Torres=stud performance 6 real strong innings. Does he go for 7?
  18. I am going to make a rather obvious observation adn say that Torres likes that cutter and it is working
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) I think he bought into his own hype from last year. Last year he was an impressive hitter who destroyed the ball based on a solid approach. Now he is trying to make it happen, and is pressing too much. A home run should be the result of a well executed swing. When you go up there trying to hit home runs, sure you may run into one. But you become Rob Deer and generate outs in a large amount. Hopefully he gets his perspective back and goes back to being a hitter. His natural swing will generate enough force to get the ball out. He doesnt need to go up there trying to hit a homer. That is a good observation and I agree. He swings like a mad man at almost everything.
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) Carlos has been a joke this season. The off season rest will be good for him
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) He had a short quick swing, excellent bat speed and a great eye. When he thinks right and right center first he is a very very dangerous hitter. Now he is getting more pullish, and his power numbers have went up however his effectiveness has went down. He doesn't have enough of a power stroke at this phase in his career to value homers over doubles. He should be looking to get on, and drive the ball into the gaps. I said once before I would rather see 40 plus doubles from him rather than 20 plus homers
  22. I likee what I see from Carlos through 5
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:29 PM) So when did Gordo quit trying to drive the ball the other way? That was what made him so effective. That's what I want to know about it
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) The 09 Chicago WHite Sox don't get big hits with men on base. Period. I think Dumpster overmatched the rookie on nothing but changeups and got GB to pull one to 3rd
