I don't think we need Eric Bedard. My guess it's either Garcia or a rookie

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 05:57 AM) Peavy to Make Sox Debut on Saturday By Mario Scalise SoxNet The much-talked about debut of Jake Peavy has arrived. Peavy will start against the Royals Saturday at the Cell. After having his original expected/hoped return date set for late August, there is little debate on whether he's ready to go, because.. MORE I already knew this yesterday so humph to the scoop I believe that Saturday's game is on WGN so I am excited for the chance to see Jake throw that horsehide.

Freddie as a fifth starter brings experience and the knowledge of how to pitch. He is a competitor and doesn't give in even when he doesn't have his best stuff. I like Garcia as an option for next season

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) He might have been a great player, but he had a very unique approach and really its typically the mediocre guy that had to work at everything that ends up making the great hitting coach. Plus communication is a huge factor on what makes a coach good and Thomas was never known for his communication abilities. I think you are correct on that. However, let's call Walt Hrniak, who Frank worshipped adn was darn good if not the best.

I would think that this will be Walker's decision

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) Probably would have had higher ratings if we would have just lost a damn game. That's the whole thing right there/ We swept and TV fans like close back and forth serieses. We were just too darn good

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) I have a feeling Pedro would get rocked in the AL. My feeling is he would be better than Colon

QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) A-Rod pays a shrink to help him w/ his hitting from a metal side and a personal trainer to get his body ready. My point is that a guy who makes that much money (alex rios, a-rod, jeter, etc) should have a good sports shrink & a good personal trainer. I hav seen Rios actually connect on balls, but the ball just dies. I think he needs to bulk up properly-with a trainer. Maybe, get 1 or 2 sports Psychologists to work on his mental approach to the game. Are you suggesting steroids

QUOTE (b-Rye @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 03:55 AM) Probably not but we need a power/high avg hitter who can drive in 100+ runs. That's another hole in this team. Vlad Guerrero/Abreau/Matsui will all be free agents next year too. Interesting take cause when we have those guys, and we still have those kind of guys, and they are clicking we are happy. When they slump like now and in the past we have folks calling for their heads and saying we need to retool into a small ball club. I personally think we have the pieces right in our own backyard to compete in 2010. A new year can make all the difference

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) So the carrot didn't work, now they are trying the stick... I hope it isn't with Rios' "stick" as they wil most likely miss him

9/13 Sox @ LAA - 2:35pm CSN - Buehrle vs. Kazmir

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) Jermaine Dye sucks. Why isn't he benched? Wise can be doing this. If he is hurt, he needs to sit, he is just hurting the team. Doesn't really help to have Wise play for Dye if he doesn't do any beter than Dye. That makes as much sense as saying let's trade Buerhle cause he has only 1 win for his last ten starts (which he has) There are plenty of slumping players on this team. Not having the left handed power bat of Thome in there anymore doesn't help either. -

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:43 PM) I think he is saying that the next game is when Dye is going to bust out...kinda like next year is the year for Cub fans. Thanks for the clarification. I meant the thinking by the player and manager is that this game has got to be when he busts out and so he goes into the line up -

There Angel announcers are pretty wild. One of their guys gets a hit and all of sidden he is Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Willie Mays and Ichiro all rolled into one. But, they were right about MB. He gives up the long bomb. 26 this year -

QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:40 PM) Winning games is more important than respect and loyalty to a play. Undertsnad but there is alot to be said for the other also. Plus I am sure every game the thought is"this is the one" -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) MB with only 83 pitches thrown could go to the 8th at least and hoperfully we get him a run or two Well, I spoke to quick and jinxed it. Hunter homers -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Well that is because our offense sucks. We are currently 11th in the AL in runs scored. Only the Royals, the Mariners, and the Oakland are worse. Then again, most managers would move a guy hitting .150 in the second half out of important 3-4-5 roles. But hey, getting a guy who is struggling terribly lots of ABs is a good thing. That's loyalty and respecting a veteran player -

My heart is crying for Dye and Rios. They are something like a combined 15 for 140-150 or something. You know they are trying so hard to contribute. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) I'm eagerly awaiting for the Sox to be eliminated so we can get Flowers some at-bats and Hudson/Nunez more meaningful innings. I don't understand why Flowers can't start in place of the second string cathcher anyway -
QUOTE (RME JICO @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 03:26 AM) I saw this little nugget in the post game wrap-up: So he is 9 out of his last 23 compared to 9 out of his first 86? That is a huge difference. Are slower players running on him lately or has he actually improved in this area? The dig was against Sox pitchers not holding on runners and then their slow deliveries to the plate didn't give AJ a chance. He has looked pretty good the last few games I have been able to watch, but you see guys like Buerhle and Danks holding runners close. Contreras weas one that runners etole on a lot because of that slow move to the plate
