QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 12:06 AM) well who else, lillibridge? Pods because if you decide to use a lefty versus Sabathia at least go with a better contact hitter
-
QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 12:04 AM) oh, bcuz in my post i put beckham and u said the dead arm thing but i wasnt talking about buehrle. this is gunna be a really ugly game You could be right
-
What is Thome doing in this game versus CC anyway?
-
QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) am i wrong in thinking beckham needs a breather or is he just struggling and thats it? Sorry that all I saw was the "B" when I replied and thought you were talking about Mark B
-
QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 12:01 AM) ? beckham not buehrle ..or what? Buerhle. Becham might need a rest too
-
We can win this one. We score 5 off CC the last time we faced him. If it's raining hard enouhg or long enouigh maybe we will get rained out before the game is official

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) Buerhle needs to be DFA'd or Cooper needs to be fired. But seriously, look at the lineups. There's about a 5% chance of the Sox winning this game going in. I will agree that the Sox can get to CC but Mark has got to start holding the opposition down. He threw a good change up to Matsui for the K which is a good thing

Buerhle gives up another homer this one to Damon and then Texeira doubles
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) Buerhle neds to show up tonight OK Buerhle gives up a lead off homer to Jeter, which makes about 6 0r 7 given up by Sox pitchers in the last 3 games. Plus he has given up three more hits through two innings. CC on the other hand has 6 K's through 3. Mismatch in the making?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 04:03 AM) Konerko, Thome and Carlos hit and we win. Is that so difficult to do, guys? Man, Beckham and Lexi need to flip flop in the order. Beckham seems to be slumping. 1-3 on the road trip. Better than 0-4. If we're going to win a game vs NY we will really have to earn it. After kicking their ass 3 of 4 at the Cell, they are going to want to put a whomping on us. Beckham is in a slump and didn't look good at the late at all. Time to send him down for more seasoning Good job by CQ, PK and JT but I was troubled by the bulpen effort again. Dotel imploded and Jenks gave up the homer in the 9th to the first batter mind you that he faced. Good thing it wasn't another 2-2 game.

This game is on MLB television channel so I will be watching. I guess it's Danks and I am hoping for a win to salvage this thing

Source: Peavy likely out as Saturday's starter

Whoever pitches we need a win. I am getting very concerned about our chances. Detroit isn't winning every game, but enough to go with our continued losing so they gain a game here and there on us. -
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 09:06 PM) Since the ASB Dye's average has dropped from .302 to .267. He is batting a measely .197 in the month of August. Until he finds his swing again, he shouldn't even question or worry about who KW aqcuires. He didn't question it as far as what I can see. Dye is a veteran and has the right to express is opinion if he wants, however, all I have ever seen from Jermaine Dye is that he is a team player. Dye might be slumping but so are a lot of others on this team and it seems that some folks are in constant search for scapegoats. Rios is here now and what has be done so far himself? There is no need for individual comparisons to make as you win or lose as a team.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) Expect Getz to hit 40 points higher now. I may have asked this before, but why isn't Hriniak the hitting coach? We seem to send our guys with continual hitting problems to him, and he seems better than Walker. Also, how do you pronounce his name? I have just figured it was her-nee-ack. That's what I want to know about it
-
Ozzie says the Sox future (infield) is Beckham-Ramirez and Getz. No mention of 1B, but hopefully that includes PK. I like Nix, but he is the super sub. Maybe if Chris is back in sept we can stil make a run at this thing
-
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 12:48 AM) Lester is dealing. . Yep and even though we have done well against some real top notch pitchers in past games this year I am not optimistic about this one
-
The fifth was a nice inning for Garcia
-
2 hits by our offense through 5 is not encouraging
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 12:28 AM) 70 pitches for Garcia through 4. Can he go at least six?
-
Freddie has the strike outs going tonight. 4 innings and gives up 2 runs is encouraging if we can get some offense going
-
Nice block by AJ on that swinging strike
-
The Bosox get all doubles for hits it seems and that's not good
