  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 12:14 AM) Paulie looks like he see's Lester well. Apparently not good enough
  2. 2 outs and the pitcher can't put the Red Sox away again
  3. But those solo homers can help somewhat B)
  4. Our offesne with 8 last night will most likely suck tonite if we see any more fiascos like the 2nd inning. Situational hitting is lacking again
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) If Freddy gives up 10 runs in 3-4 innings will he also be out of the rotation? With Mark totally s*** since perfection day our rotation is pretty iffy. Freddie Garcia had his one bad game to start things off for him this year so now it's time to rebound. I am in a cautiously optimistic mind set that Garcia and the Sox win tonight
  6. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) No, it shouldn't. You don't dump a veteran who dominated the playoffs and World Series for you (and not to mention recently came back several months ahead of schedule from a potentially career-ending Achilles rupture) out of spite. Under Kenny, the Sox have done much to repair this organization's bad reputation in the way that they handle veteran players. DFAing a player like Jose would be completely counter-productive, especially considering that the rosters expand soon and that he might be useful in long relief. You are so right. Contreras is a veteran who has contributed much to this organization. You don't throw him under the bus as a statement. Hearing some comments from Ozzie and also others in the organization it makes you wonder if Jose didn't get rushed back from his injury rehab. He is a proud fellow and can obviously be dominant when right, but my guess is this is his last season with the Sox.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 04:41 AM) Cowley, like others, said he's going to the bullpen. Peavy will talk to Cooper tomorrow, and if he feels good, he'll start Saturday in New York. That game is carried by WGN also. I will be excited to see that. Sunday is TBS Sunday game of the Week also
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:09 AM) Man, a 7 spot off of Buchholz, hard to complain about the offense here. Can we get 2 more? I hope so and that our pitching can hold the Bosox
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:06 AM) PK can get us back in this thing w/one swing I predict you are RIGHTTTTTTTT!
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:03 AM) good spot by buccholz.....jermaine stinks right now Our big boppers don't bop. JD is sinking for sure
  11. Beckham must have been one jacked up rookie with that homer. First game in Fenway Park
  12. QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:55 AM) this is so bad, I really want to change the channel And we might see more of the same all week long.
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:54 AM) I hope our guys are pleased with their product tonight. The cool thing is that because its against the Red Cubs they will have enough time to digest it as its played over and over and over and over on ESPN. We will be getting our noses rubbed in it plenty tonite
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:47 AM) this is about to become a f***ing blowout I logged on to Chisox.com to see MLB Game Day. The story about the Sox jumping out to an early lead didn't fit the box score when it loaded
  15. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) I can't wait until Podsednik is off this team for good. Here we go again
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR? Or something. If History serves me right yes it was! But, I am in for the lesson we will all learn from this crew. Whatever that might be
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 03:58 AM) I'm surprised there hasn't been a "then why do you keep watching the games" post yet. That's easy for me anyway-yes!
  18. Thursday versus Boston is on MLB Channel Saturday is on WGN as we take on the Yankees Sunday is the TBS Sunday National Game of the Week See you all behind the big screen I spelled it wrong I know but I mean we need to sew it up these two series to stay in competition. Or I guess our fate might be sewn up if we lose. But, we seem to rise to the occassion in big series
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) So if they won last night, I'm guessing we wouldn't see this thread. Well we would have been a game and half out if we won. At least we aren't out 3 1/2 games. Look for the positives I guess.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) LOOKS like the Tigers are down 4-1 now after a 3 run CUST jack against Porcello. Yet, at no point in the 9th inning did I truly believe that we were going to come through....the last time I really had faith in our ability to make a comeback consistently was the final series of the first half against the Red Sox and Papelbon in July of 2006. We had our moments last year, but we still were a very much flawed baseball club. Truly a dissapointing performance yet again. I can't believe this team with its talent is just barely above .500 and we lose the series to a team with the second worse record in the AL. I just didn't think we were going to pull it out either and that's sad
  21. QUOTE (rockren @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 01:53 AM) He looks warn down IMO. I think he'll get it going again, but JD has given everything he's had to us since he's been here. What you said
  22. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) If they're going to play Lillibridge, they should put him in for Beckham. Give the guy a day off. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  23. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 05:13 PM) This has the makings of a repeat from Friday. Easy win on paper then the offense forgets to show up. And we probably have never faced this guy before so I am hopeing we don't get the blah blah blah of why we didn't hammer this guy and instead got shut out. Anyway, I am listening on XM today as I do yard stuff. Ramirez is my PTC
  24. I'll be behind the big screen as WGN presnts exciting Sox baseball. Hopefuly we don't fall further behind the Tigers so let's DO IT!
  25. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) I am much more happy that Rowand is gone than Uribe. Uribe never lost games and his glove won plenty. I do not consider failing to drive in runs as costing a team a game. Ramirez does not make either one of those 2005 plays but that is beside the point. Uribe gave everything he had and I appreciate that. Exactly plus I believe some tend to forget that his defensive plays at 3B saved us last year and sure helped us get into the playoffs. I think we lost Juan simply because the front office didn't want to pay $4.5M to a platoon player. It was all bizzness
