  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) Give him time. "Streakiness" was entirely reasonable. He's still hitting better than I expected him to be. He gets all the time he wants. I just want to see an effort to cover the fastball and not just swing out of his shoes at every offspeed pitch
  2. Tank just can't hit a fastball and he can't lay off of them either (especially inside)
  3. 2-0, time to relax
  4. Harrell sucks, but his stuff has improved since he left Chicago/Charlotte
  5. Humber showing a lot of run on the fastball. As long as he can control it, it will treat him well.
  6. The sport is going nowhere as long as it is on PPV put it on a network
  7. No one is drooling over a 28 year old with no position and no track record of hitting, other than a power surge last year in limited time against favorable matchups.
  8. game thread. where is it
  9. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 09:51 AM) Denver Post speculated today (6/10) that Padres will offer 3B Chase Headley. Another possibility for a more journeyman 3B, and less expensive in trade, is Rockies infielder Cris Nelson. Tulo is coming off DL in a week or so, Nelson would be available. He is okay defensively, can hit a little bit. An upgrade over what we have now at third. If we make a move for someone like that, we'll probably wait a couple more weeks to see if Hudson heats up.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 10:19 PM) It should read best team in the AL CENTRAL, but I couldn't edit it later, only a mod can do that. It also should read "inevitably" as the fourth option. Obviously, the White Sox are not better than the Rangers, that's a given. f*** the rangers!!!!!!!
  11. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) Wowza looking ahead, Sale's next start is vs. Kershaw. That is a big time pitching match up. I have to think that favors us since the LA offense is nothing to write home about.
  12. With an injured Danks and current down performances of Humber/Floyd, obviously we've needed this great run from Sale and Peavy to stay in it. However, I expect Floyd to get real hot soon and Humber to return to at least being an above average innings eater...and I think John Danks will be just fine based on what we hear from ptatc. Losing Sale in the future may not hurt as bad if those other parts of the rotation return to normal. It'll at least allow for a regression on the part of Chris, or perhaps just an unbelievable run from the Sox
  13. Just didn't get good games from any of the Boston perimeter players. Rondo played adequately, but not adequately given the performances of Pierce/Allen
  14. I still think Chicago had it right by not double teaming LeBron and Wade...making the rest of the team have to beat you one on one. Brandon Bass is playing his ass off on defense and they finally realized they need to keep LeBron in front...but they have to rebound and they can't let Bosh run around unguarded. I love Rondo, he's really impressed me in this series, but he isn't keeping them in the game down the stretch on offense. Need more post touches. Fewer bad shots. Fewer turnovers. I don't see the foul on Wade on this three point play??
  15. Looks like we're in for a dogfight. A player getting hot will probably decide this.
  16. Pax/Gar would be my hero if they traded Watson for a better draft pick
  17. I wouldn't even do Mitchell for Volquez straight up. No f***ing way. Not sure that I'd even do it with Quintana.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) He could take Humber's spot... I'm not about to give up on Phil Humber. Seems like Robin and I have about the same amount of patience for struggling players
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 05:48 PM) Stewart's the first one in AAA when Danks comes back. I think Quintana and Humber stay. I hope to god we don't f*** another guy (Quintana) by putting him in the pen for no reason
  20. You know when you're up 10-0 you're supposed to miss over the plate, right?
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) The punchout on the previous AB for Danks was a joke though, the base umpire couldn't even see what happened with the shadows/light playing tricks on him. Not to mention the pitch he just struck out on was a pretty tough pitch
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) I'm ok with pulling Sale after this inning, honestly. If we are going to truly practice innings management with him, there's no reason to push him today. I'm an anti-innings limit guy. There's no way to know what kind of innings limit to put in there. I would look at number of starts and number of pitches/start as the best measure. Shouldn't be Chris's fault that he pitches efficiently.
  23. Also, Escobar > Lillibridge
