  1. LET'S WIN THIS MOTHERf***ER
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) Yeah, the WHIP definitely suggests he's doing alright. I feel most of his runs have come in situations where we were down by 3+ too, but I could be wrong on that. Some have hurt, but that's baseball
  3. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) It's funny. Ohman's WHIP is 1/3 of his hits surrendered are home runs. He hasn't pitched that badly. Brett Wallace inventing a new way to get a double there
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) Haven't people mostly complained about him playing too deep? The reason he plays deep is supposedly because he doesn't go back well
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) GMAFB. Who is going to take the 3 roster spots on the 40 man that for some reason you need clear by releasing the guy? I meant I've given up on criticizing people that suggest that. I'm on your side here
  6. ADA getting much better going back on balls
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:41 PM) Seriously, how on Earth is this something people are repeating without being scoffed at? I've given up on it. You and I don't see eye to eye on everything, but the old "disregard talent, only care about MLB production out of position at age 25" thing is getting old. If things were as clear in real life as they on baseball-reference, you'd all be getting paid to make roster moves
  8. Welcome back, Paulie
  9. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) Could be true. Humber could slide in and be the new Stewart. He would be servicable in Stewarts current role. I think at this point it's gonna be pretty damn hard not to keep starting Quintana with the way Floyd and Humber have been throwing. this is why they are slow playing this Danks stuff. See two more starts worth of Gavin/Humber, two more starts of Q to see if he's for real, and the choices may become obvious in that timespan
  10. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) forget about Youkilis, we need to find a couple starters Found them! Meet John Danks and Jose Quintana
  11. He still has good stuff. As a sinkerballer (which he seems bound and determined to be, even out of the pen) he's going to have a hell of a time being consistent out of the bullpen.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) Would he have been safe? Or you're just saying the pitcher might have dropped it or the ball might have gotten kicked or knocked away? ball beat him, but you have to at least challenge the pitcher to put his body near home plate, catch the ball, get the tag down, etc
  13. I love PK, but I have to say he's been allergic to hustle lately. Doesn't like running out of the box on ground balls and not sliding there is stupid. Half the pitchers in baseball are terrified to put a tag on a sliding baserunner at home
  14. Paul can't do anything right anymore
  15. I'm getting sick and f***ing tired of Tank being unable to turn around a fastball in fastball counts
  16. Snyder is one of those annoying catchers that keeps telling his pitcher where the pitch was supposed to be.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Play at home is pathetic ALL year................anyone that thinks this is good baseball is nuts. The idea that any team plays good baseball all the time is the one we have a problem with. People that lose their mind over short bouts of bad play are bad coaches/players and are boring media members and annoying fans. I don't believe that the "poor play at home" has anything to do with anything. Bad luck. They aren't taking a different approach to the game at home or anything like that. Let it work itself out over the course of the season. By the way, another thing we like to do is call games before they are over. That too is annoying.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) I have no clue why it would be "Mark Parent" calling all the pitches. He claims to do the pitch calling, per frequent cuts to him doing so and his interview on 670 this morning.
  19. The person I'm most upset with is Mark Parent, if he does indeed call all the pitches. Sequences are bad, pitch variety is bad, everything. Makes it harder to be a pitcher. We don't have one pitcher that will use his changeup against a same-handed batter, which is really, really stupid.
  20. Good to see Soxtalk retaining its sanity
  21. Pitch calling remains f***ing stupid
  22. The thing about Humber is the walks. His BB/9 has never been like this at any level...makes me think something is up. Can we fake an injury so we don't have to use anyone's option when Danks returns?
  23. This should open a rotation spot in AAA for Zach Stewart
  24. I don't have a terrible taste in my mouth today. I expect him to pitch well next time out
