Cy Sale vs Cy Chen
If Dayan keeps his approach to the middle-opposite field, I see nothing but good ahead for him.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) the issue is not going to effect the election. maybe in your mind it will, but overall it means nothing compared other issues. non-factor basically. I don't think you realize the portion of Americans that vote based solely on social issues...it's a staggering amount

Why Is Addison Reed Still Closing?
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) Reed has hit the rookie wall plain and simple, he will get over this and be a better for it. Woah optimism

The Republican Thread
Don't know how to embed youtube videos, mods feel free to edit this post to embed Short of giving a different answer, I thought Mitt handled it as well as he could. Still goes to show you how important this issue is. I know the typical response is "this shouldn't be a top campaign issue" ... but if as much as 5-10% of the population is being shorted part of their rights as citizens (or at least, much of the USA perceives it as such), this IS a big deal. Things like this conversation will keep happening and it will hurt Mitt.

What you never see is Nate Jones enter a game without men on base. Feels the same way with Thornton.

Why Is Addison Reed Still Closing?
While the ERA isn't such a huge deal for a closer, he hasn't been good for quite a while. At least a month.

Shooting in CO at Batman premiere
The notion of state governments is exceedingly antiquated. Makes things unnecessarily complicated and inefficient.

Game Thread 9/7
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) Well, if you look at the whole picture (stats on the year), you'd see that something killing the Sox is their bullpen. I would definitely agree if the statement looked like this.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) Lineup tomorrow ought to be based entirely on who has the fewest at-bats against Chen in a White Sox uniform. Basically the lineup at the end of the Twins' drubbing

Game Thread 9/7
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 10:14 PM) Dude, we can't beat the Royals. We can't beat the Tigers. We've looked like a crappy team since the ASB I don't think these are over reactions. They're affirmations of reality. You gotta chill out...we haven't played well for about 10 days. That's okay. We haven't been healthy either, hardly seen anything from Dunn and Youk is hurting as well (I realize he just had a child). Let's see how this series ends and how we play the Tigs at home. It's easy to read into everything that happens into the final month, but this season is more than that. We've won some huge games and have shown some major cajones. Those things still count when we can't pull through. Don't forget to look at the whole picture. Dismissing all important wins as mere happenstance and seeing every failure as proof of our mediocrity doesn't make any sense. If you were a baseball player with that attitude, you'd be Gordon Beckham.

Glad to see gross overreactions in the game thread. Anyways, terrible call to end it on.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) This story doesn't surprise me one bit. The rules have never applied to the mods. It's like they are trying to drive away their posters. Many of them long-timers. Also in his mind, SS2k5 is never, ever wrong. Good night sweet prince- Updated MLB.com Prospect Rankings
QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) Not impressed with the new MLB.com prospect rankings. There isn't a single White Sox prospect in the Top 100, and the organization Top 20 has me scratching my head as well. 1. Trayce Thompson 2. Courtney Hawkins 3. Charlie Leesman 4. Nestor Molina 5. Keenyn Walker 6. Scott Snodgress 7. Carlos Sanchez 8. Erik Johnson 9. Jared Mitchell 10. Keon Barnum 11. Josh Phegley 12. Jacob Petricka 13. Jhan Marinez 14. Kevan Smith 15. Simon Castro 16. Tyler Saladino 17. Brandon Brennan 18. Andre Rienzo 19. Marcus Semien 20. Chris Beck Other notables from position ranks: Keon Barnum #10 1B Carlos Sanchez #7 2B I'm okay with 1,2, 4. Mitchell, Barnum, Sanchez all need to be much higher. Castro should probably be our top pitcher and in the Top 5. Joey DeMichele should be in the Top 20.- REMINDER
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) I ignored somebody and it is great. And NOBODY ever quotes this person which may say something about that person's posts. Of course I am on many ignore buttons as well. Quoting this so that everyone knows that Greg posted- The B and B boys give speeches
The debates are usually worth watching, but they do what they should do and respond to most things ideologically. "What will you do with taxes?" Romney: "I will empower job creators to grow their business and hire people instead of paying for welfare" Obama: "I will get those evil corporate elites to drown in their tax obligations! Go middle class!" ooooo, ahhhh - AJ Did Not Test Positive; No Story Here
