  1. I think Viciedo hasn't been THAT bad. Not league average, but he really reminds of 2008 Quentin out there.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) The Sox home record would indicate the team is going to finish in the bottom five of all teams. How bad they freefall is anybody's guess, but you can't have this kind of home record and even be close to .500. you have a very odd preoccupation with our home record. let it sort itself out
  3. Needs to be starting in the minors. The only plus of putting him in the pen was that his fastball supposedly got up to mid 90s in those situations -- it has instead dropped. Let him go down, get healthy, figure things out, whatever he needs to do.
  4. lol, Ohman gets pulled in the middle of at bat
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) Chen is a Sox killer. It's an automatic W for Chen when he faces the Sox. I am saying I hope it's not the same for Luke this year when he faces the Sox up to five times. I was talking about the complete game
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) I beg to differ. This has complete game by Luke written all over it. I hope next time we face Hochevar we have a clue lest he turn into another Sox killer (see Chen). wtf are you talking about??
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) Wow, just terrible at bats...Jake, you jinxed it! thought you unjinxed it for a second there
  8. Is it the black jerseys or is AJ looking slimmer than the beginning of the season?
  9. I need to see Paulie go the other way a bit -- always been his slump buster
  10. This should be Hochevar's last inning
  11. Dunn looked at Hochevar like he was about to beat his ass after that quick pitch.
  12. You'll be hard pressed to find a group of fans that doesn't think they get beaten by "nobodies" and "the league's punching bags" etc. too often
  13. In other news, Nate Jones is one of the most talented men in the MLB
  14. some people get some kind of sick pleasure in seeing the Sox fail why don't you just predict good things to happen so you can stroke your ego as we win?
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 10, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) League doesn't seem to visit the board anymore, so... Kyle had a whirlwind 2010, making stops in Kanny (A-), W-S (A+) and B-Ham (AA). His A-ball stops were very impressive, posting a combined ERA well below 2, striking out more than a man an inning, and inducing plenty of ground balls. The 2009 5th round pick was looking like a fast-mover. But he struggled in Birmingham, his walks blew up, and the next the we knew he was injured. He missed all of 2011. Here in 2012, Kyle is at Winstom-Salem, and is doing pretty well so far: 15 IP, 10 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 14 K. At age 24 he is now a little old for level, but he's got too much talent, pedigree and results to give up on him. He may see AA this year, and if he does well, there, it may be time to start talking about him again. It would be good to hear some scouting info from this year, to see how he is doing after the injury. I remember when he seemed fast tracked for the majors...wonder if he'll ever get there now. Missing a whole season is just such a huge setback.
  16. QUOTE (daggins @ May 12, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) He's done a pretty good job of sitting the Sox down so far. I guess I should say, they have done a pretty good job of sitting themselves down. I'm not all that displeased with our at bats
  17. It's one thing not to catch it, but he needs to keep it in front.
  18. Wow Brent! Best AB all year.
  19. lol game threads are getting bad when we fail for not scoring in the first inning of the ballgame
  20. I recall Sale's draft scouting reports saying that his better pitch was his changeup. Bizarre that he doesn't like it anymore -- maybe a side effect of the time spent in bullpen.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 12, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) Well I never! Well, IF we lose again this season, you'll get to show that you put far more effort into yours than I do mine
  22. A streak is alive. The Sox have won three in a row and look like a real baseball team again and I'm 4-0 in game threads this year (oops, had a little hiccup not starting one a while back ) So tonight, we have CHRIS SALE starting and if he plays his cards right, maybe even closing. he's going against this asshole (really, that's him) DON'T STOP NOW BOYS!!!!!!!
