Why is everyone so high on the Indians? Millwood is one of the most overrated pitchers in baseball and will only get worse in the AL. How is their bullpen solid? It was one of the worst in baseball and the only addition is Rhodes. Not much help IMHO.

Funny, the article again mentions KW being 'under the radar'. He's so smooth. At least we know greed exists in players outside the U.S. It's hard to really gage market value on players in Japan.

Well said, I'm tired of their hype. Their will be a lot of expert analysts who will pick the Sox third behind the tribe. Some will pick them fourth behind the Tigers. I don't think Arthur Rhodes will solve their bullpen problems.

It amazes me how little some of these guys care about winning. Milton is rumored to the Yankees and ends up on the Reds, a team who has no chance of finishing higher than fourth in the division for the duration of the contract.

Millwood will only get worse in the AL. I look forward to facing him several times this year. He'll never be as good as he was with Leo Mazzone.

Your right Steff, I was just generalizing. Jerry gets a lot of bad pub because he is the only one speaking to the media. Besides, I don;t know the rest of their names.

Jerry is a big reason for the current CBA. He thought it would play to the sox advantage because we are a major market team.

I think Willie needs a little more time to develop, so I wouldn't mind seeing a platoon at 2b. Willie was still working on becoming a leadoff hitter. The Sox obviously stressed seeing more pitches in the leadoff spot and at times it hurt Willie. The problem was he is looking at good pitches until he has two strikes, and he is not a good two strike hitter. With Pods here he may have a much better year in the 9 spot.

Sadly, he may make a team in the east.

I say good. I'm not thrilled, but I'm happy. I think it was important to change the dynamic of the team, and that we did. Whether or not that will work out, we shall see. That's why they play the games.

I know we didn't quite get all the players we were hoping, and some are certainly not happy witht the C. Lee trade, but it could be worse. There has been a lot of negative talk around here lately, so I thought I would try to spin a little positive thinking. I don't like posting linueups, but going into 2004 opening day our starting rotation was: Beuhrle Elo Garland Scho Danny Wright Closer: Billy Koch Now, we have lost some offensive firepower, but some will argue we are more balanced. We certainly have a better defesive outfeild and I believe we are stronger defensively up the middle. I also believe IMHO we have a much stronger bullpen. My only complaint is catcher. Compared to last years rotation I am feeling much more confidant going into this season. Thoughts? Happy Holidays!!

Not to go off topic, but the Bears secondary worst in the NFL? You do realize that the 2 starting corners and free safety were injured this year. When healthy, their secondary is top 5 in the NFL.

I was excited yesterday with Wade Miller, Cora/Eck, and AJ being available, hoping the Sox will at least upgrade at 1 or 2 of these positions. After reading this thread, I think I'm depressed.

If the stros non-tendered him, they may know something we don't. Although, they are about as cheap as the White Sox.

What worries me is Kenny keeps saying he is not going to spend money just to spend money. It sounds to me as if they are wating on a bargain type pitcher.
