  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 1, 2017 -> 09:03 PM)
    Chip Kelly out in SF, Mike McCoy out in SD

    Soon to be LA Chargers. I wonder if Phillip Rivers just ends up retiring. He flat out doesn't want to live in LA with his 8 kids as he's stated multiple times, that's not a place to raise your children.

  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 05:34 PM)
    Robin Lopez is the least of the Bulls problem. I actually think he's had a nice season.

    The signing of Rando and Wade still remains a joke just like the Bulls organization.

    Here's the thing. Rondo was brought in for pacing reasons and Hoiberg wanted him. Rondo also helped get Wade to Chicago. GarPax needs to go before anyone else, but it won't happen. They sold the rest of the squad as good up and coming talent. They passed on Harris and Nurkic (not to mention Zach LaVine) for Doug McDermott. They passed on Giorgiu Dieng for Tony Snell. Mirotic and McDermott are in their 3rd year in the NBA, Mirotic played professionally overseas and McDermott was a 4 year college player IIRC. They are still as inconsistent as 8th men on good teams are. Thing is, they're supposed to be the 3rd and 4th option. Mirotic will have his excellent 3 weeks of terror, as will McDermott, and people will be fooled again into thinking they have anymore of a future than which is true - they're average players who are supposed to be shooting specialists, but they can't shoot that great from 3.

  3. Paxson, like Kenny Williams, tried to quit, but JR wouldn't let him. In addition to that, Gar will never get fired because his and his wife's relationship with Michael Reinsdorf and his wife. Hell, Gar's wife runs Chicago Bulls charities with Michael's wife. They're all best friends. It'll take a year at least of Bulls fans chanting "Fire Forman" for them to even consider it. Most Bulls fans don't know who's really running the show, so that chant won't be started.

  4. Hey guys, Nite from Oak Lawn; first time caller, longtime listener. One deal I think they should make is Robertson for Soler if the Cubs are willing. They have a logjam in the OF, Soler needs to play everyday, Cubs need a closer, but don't want to break the bank on the Jansen/Chapmans of the world. To me, it makes too much sense. I'll hang up and listen.

  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 05:05 PM)
    If we don't trade Sale hen I am fine with it. We are taring to see prospects from our own system devel;op. You build around pitching-that is still the name of the game IMO. We get what we demnd for a player of Sale's ability or we don't trade. PERIOD END OF STORY

    I'd be fine with it too. As someone else noted:

    Some Team: Hey we want to trade for Sale.

    Sox: Ok, it'll take Prospect A, C, D, G

    Some Team: I don't want to trade Prospect A. There's a chance he might be as impactful as Chris Sale, even though he's proven almost nothing at the major league level.

    Sox: Ok, *click*

    I understand the Dodgers not dealing Urias if the Sox want other top guys in addition to him. I don't understand a trade with Houston where they don't move Bregmann. We're not asking for Carlos Correa there, though Sale should be able to fetch somone of his caliber (Sale is legit Top 3 pitcher in baseball and probably the 2nd best lefty given performance and longevity and contract).

  6. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 01:49 PM)
    I use Exodus and Phoenix for pretty much everything. Most can play at around 720 with some at 1080. Not bad for the price and infinite library. :P

    Exodus, Phoenix and ProSport. There's also some 4K add-ons if you're internet provider doesn't have data caps.

  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 11:40 PM)
    iPhone 8 rumors already swirling. My contract is up but I'm gonna wait out for the 8 rather than get the 7.

    Anything specifically? I've been considering getting an iPhone, but want to make it worth it. It's either that or the Pixel for me.

  8. I had a Surface Pro 3 and it was probably the best machine I ever owned. I used the main dock which had sliding ends to plug in. Apparently, now they sell a USB Hub style docking station that I'm not a fan of. Anyway, the machine was a beast. I'd write notes in OneNote, use Miracast to send it to any one of our Flatscreens in the conference room, configure switches and routers and at home. It was by far the best tablet I ever owned, and laptop I ever owned. But hey, some say cucumbers taste better pickled.

    As far as the FireTV, I have a few of the sticks with Kodi on them. Easy to install. I want to try a FireTV though which gives better performance, or perhaps a nVidia Shield.

  9. With any deal, you have to aim for near ready guys who have been nothing more than September call-ups. Anyone who is already up will severely limit the other pieces you get. The White Sox need quantity as much as quality. 3 good near-ready players > 1 great player and mediocre/bad prospects.

    So if you're aiming for Urias, you're not going to get Bellinger & De Leon to go with him. If you're aiming for Mookie Betts (just an example), you're not getting Moncada and Devers to go with. A 1 for 1 deal does the Sox no favors. They need a minimum of 3 good players in any trade.

  10. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 02:31 AM)
    No doubt that Verlander had an amazing year last season, his best in a while, but he will be 34 before the seasons starts and still makes $28M a year for through age 36 season, plus a $22M vesting option for age 37 season.

    Obviously not saying he's a salary dump, but I feel like the Dodgers can hold on to their top pieces if they wanted Verlander. The worst part would be it's one less suitor to drive up prices for Sale and Q for the Red Sox/Yankees/Astros/Rangers, etc.

    I think the Dodgers are better off with Sale. They are so hell bent on getting a big name pitcher without paying the full cost of one though. That's why they went after Greinke at the deadline. Money be damned to Friedman, he cares about his prospects a little too much though.

  11. It really bothered me the moment it happened when Roberts decided it was more important to get Chapman out of the game, to the point that he would gladly walk inferior hitters. At that point, he lost sight of the task at hand which was getting out of that inning unscathed. After seeing him for a year, pulling guys with no hitters, I'm sorry, but to me it's been obvious he is worse than Mattingly.

  12. I'm ok with Lawrie, but I'm ok with all the pieces individually. As a whole though, they don't fit. So in some respects, I think you're going to have to take steps back to vastly improve another position. Or as others say, plug a hole by creating maybe another one.

  13. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 02:11 PM)
    No, Urias is under control for 6 years I believe, a lot more team friendly situation even compared to Q.

    If I'm being honest with myself, I'd ask what is my biggest need right now if I'm the Dodgers. They probably need a 2 or a 3 right now, which they have the cash to go sign without losing a top prospect. They just need Urias to fill in as the 4th and 5th starter next season and soon enough he'll grow into that 2/3 they're missing. And if I'm rebuilding the Sox, I'd definitely take Urias for Q straight up.

    Dodgers have an abundance of starters and are going to want to keep the cheaper ones except in ace situations (Kershaw, Sale). Only way the Sox get Urias is dealing Sale.

  14. As someone who follows the Dodgers, you have to realize certain ships have sailed. I know many people were advocating keeping Sale and Q thru this past season instead of trading them last offseason, but you have to realize, the prospects who you want have values that rise and fall. That's why if there's someone out there you want, you have to pounce.

    From the Dodgers, you are not getting Urias in a trade that doesn't equal Sale. They simply won't do it. He's under team control for a long time and is major league ready and already has showed success.

    De Leon, who I actually like better than Urias, can be had. For Q, you'd hope for a De Leon/Verdugo or De Leon/Puig swap. Again, for Q, you are not getting Urias. It simply will not happen.

    As far as Puig, you're not getting him for the same price you could have had him for at the trade deadline unless he does something drastically stupid in the playoffs. The Sox have the players to get him, but I don't think they're going to want to pay the price.

    Just trying to be realistic and temper expectations.

  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 07:27 PM)
    I feel like barfing. We've lost an extraordinary talent well before his prime to what looks like a freak accident. RIP to him and his two buddies.

    I do too. He was a shining light in America's past time. He was a great player with electric stuff, an electric personality and a great story. RIP to him, his friends and may his family and friends and now future baby find peace.

  16. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 08:40 PM)
    Well, it's September, so far

    Royal Rumble --> Styles debuts to massive roar.

    Then goes on to feud with Jericho in some great matches, leading to a solid Wrestlemania match. Jericho, oddly, goes over.

    Then goes on to fight Reigns for the title in some brilliant matches.

    Defeats Cena 2 times in 1on1 action and has great overall matches.

    Now defeats Ambrose to become World Heavyweight Champion.

    This gurantees he's to headline a few more PPV's before the year is over. Namely Survivor Series.

    What an incredible year!

    Hopefully he gets to headline Wrestlemania. Guy deserves it. He could put on a 5 star match with a crash test dummy. He's that good.
