2026 NFL thread
I think they said it's about 126 degrees on the field. And they were already bad. Also, I do not like paying DeAndre Swift when they have big money they have to pay for folks like Caleb. Bears D is trash. I think we have a live dog in Carolina, but I think the Bears pull it out 30-27

Mike Shirley resigns
According to the Railyards thread, that's also about to be an issue.

New Sox Stadium instant reaction poll
I think owners just simply see it as too cost prohibitive for the ROI. I'm okay with open air. #SockWeather #ChicagoTuff

Quero recalled
Just saying he would've been better. He's had a hot August and he at least played more than 1AB. They needed pitching over everything though.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Sorry, I get my environmental studies from professionals on Soxtalk… 😌

Still don’t get the move unless it’s just another favor. Robert would’ve been preferable if anything, but they need innings eaters. They need to go full end game and call up Thorpe, Schultz and Bonemer to get this over the finish line.

New nickname for Downtown Railyard Sox
If a dinger isn’t hit into murky waters by the good guys, send it back…

Can’t wait for the environmental studies to come up.

Looked to see how pissed off Tray would be and it didn't disappoint.

2026 NFL thread
Agreed. BJ said he feels like it's underrated. What's more likely is they knew they weren't going to keep Gervon long term, and with Van De Berg looking like he's potentially a player, they decided to move on. With that stated, record wise, they're going to take a step back. It'll be interesting to see what happens when they are in the dog days of Dec and snow is pouring down and they're not able to drop 35 offensively. I don't say this as a "Bear-Weather" guy, but the snow does mess up your timing. Your run game will be good, but what are you going to do with your defense who I would argue is weaker than last year which was pretty weak already. I hope a Maxx Crosby move is coming.

Eugenio Suarez put on waivers
I wouldn’t omit the context. As I understand it, it has more to do with their lack of outfield depth. They are limited there which causes Antonocci to play LF. Since he has to play there pretty much everyday, Chase is best suited to play most days at 2B. If Vargas played 2B, it would give them more flexibility.

Eugenio Suarez put on waivers
My guess is the Sox pickup Littell. I wouldn’t be mad at them picking up Robert or Suarez, but pitching is the mystery that needs to be solved.

Next year's positional starters
If Montgomery is gone, which I don't think will happen (but I would make it happen), I think Bonemer replaces him. From there, I don't think you see Roch until a year afterwards. I think you'll see Vargas at 2B before you see Roch make his debut.

Rest of Season Rotation
One thing's for sure in my mind, even if he's struggling, Venable has to stop wasting Castillo start days. Let him get lit up for 20 for all i care if it helps the bullpen the next few days. That, or stack the bullpen with nothing but starters.

Is It Time To Call Up Bonemer?
you might be right. I didn't mind their deadline, but in hindsight, for me at least, it's a deadline that says "We're the Dodgers or Phillies or Yankees", not "We're the White Sox". The White Sox haven't established they are a playoff team yet. They needed larger upgrades. With that stated, Getz may have just wanted to hold onto as many top guys as he could to get another year of "what do we have". Or, because he knew the lockout was coming and he was ordered by ownership to keep payroll as lean as possible while considering Mune was getting an extension.

Rest of Season Rotation
Fedde has to start out of necessity. I don't think he was bad as a bullpen arm, but the Sox don't have many bullets for the starting rotation. If the playoffs started today, Anthony Kay is your 2 and Sean Burke is your 1. That's insane. What's more insane is my thoughts - Go full blown youth and supplement with age. Fedde Smith Burke Martin Kay Use Schulz as a swing guy at this point. Sox must pick up starting pitching the hour they are eliminated from the playoffs. They simply can't do this going into next year. I would trade Colson for a starter if I could. if Seattle didn't have Colt Emerson, I would think they would be interested.

Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.
I saw it on social media and I can't see it. Colson Montgomery is Joey Gallo. Bring up Bonemer. Trade Colson Gallo before it's too late.

Sports Media Discussion
He's been trash. Calls out others as knows it all, but gets mad when someone gives him crap for a bad take. Like legit gets mad and has beef with folks. The guy is also always on vacation seemingly. Not sure the value ESPN sees in him. I think you can pair damn near anyone with Tom Waddle and have the same show tbh.

I wonder the reason. I listen to ESPN in the morning as I think Shea balances out Kap quite a bit. He also seems to give JHood energy so every time Kap brings up the Cubs, they call him out. Mully and Haugh was a weird pairing, but I thought it did work. I wonder who works mornings. I wouldn't mind Leila Rahimi with Haugh, then find a new midday. I would also love to see them poach some of the young talent like Tyler Aoki and Shea Norlin from ESPN.

Southsiiiiiiide standddddddd uppppp!!!

Do you think Schriff will be back next season?
I don't mind Schiffren anymore which is shocking. Kind of wish he brought back the "Southside Stand Up". It was terrible when we were losing games left and right. Just like I'm sure Ben Johnson's Good, Better Best would be s%*# if the Bears only won 4 games.

Future of Positional Core
I think some folks are looking too long term and some too short term. They're not going to have the makeup of their entire team, including bench, after this offseason. You'll likely see a platoon of Peters and maybe Doyle. I think after next season, they'll make a decision on Colson, Bonemer, Carlson. Mune is the only lock to get an extension. They'll likely trade some of the middle infield depth for SP. Seattle, for right now, looks like a good trade partner. Pittsburgh could be too, but they may want to hold onto the SP if they don't plan on ever getting any hitters outside of Bryan Reynolds. I expect one impactful move in the offseason outside of a resigned Mune. Two max.

Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
He's had some good games. I think, at the very least, he should be an adult arm in the room who can give you some innings.

I also wouldn't be opposed to the White Sox adding depth and signing Zack Littel for the rest of the season.
