  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) Toronto scored 5 runs QUICK in this game. We can do it to. How bout 6?
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) And yes....here comes Hawk with his juiced ball theory. My personal theory isn't that the ball is juiced. Rather, the pitching around baseball sucks this year. Well. It's something. The number of runs scored in early April is pretty staggering.
  3. They are treating us like we are Matt Clement and David Wells. Mercy.
  4. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) Wow - bunting with Anderson on deck. Trying to show confidence in his hitters.
  5. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Wow, if Dye weren't a monster, we're down 3. Thank god he's got an arm, what a throw and relay! Javier is done, and his ERA has ballooned to 6.94. I just can't make sense of this pitching staff. Let's go offense, you did well so far, it's too bad we need to get more. 5 runs should be plenty with the pitching staff we have, atleast on paper. If Dye would have hit the cutoff man, Javy might have gotten a DP out of the third hitter.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) Some big pitches coming right up here. Made a good pitch. Cmon Javy. Leave them right there.
  7. Pablo looks good at the plate so far this year. As per his usual with us.
  8. Nice K by Vazquez. Hillenbrand was seeing him well.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) I like how you pull these posts up after something good happens. Try replying to them when they are actually made, rather than later. LOL. It was such a stupid comment there was really no reason to reply. Seriously. "Pablo is horrible." Don't get pissed at me because Pablo made you look like an idiot.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Ozuna is horrible. ^^^^^^
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) I think Fathom was referring more to Podsednik's second half, where he was pretty bad, by putting up a .284/.326/.356 line, and 14 caught stealings compared to only 15 stolen bases. Yah, but much of that was in late July/August when he was really hurt. A lot of guys are terrible when they are really hurting as much as he was, which is why he went on the DL. But in September and October he wasn't healthy and still not nearly 100%, but not hurt as bad as late July and August. He put up pretty damn good numbers in September and October and he wasn't near 100%, which goes against being "a pretty terrible player when less than 100%." Now if he's just talking about his base stealing I'll totally agree. He obviously is not a premier basestealer when he is not 100%, which makes lots of sense.
  12. That's two pretty bad losses to SEA. Cleveland's pitchers looked pretty terrible. Their hitters sure are raking though.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Here's the biggest problem: It's brutally obvious that Pods just is a terrible baseball player when he's not 100 pct. We saw signs of this last year, and he's just been flat out awful so far this year. However, we don't have anyone that we can really place in LF for him to start on a regular basis. It's a tough call for KW and Ozzie....and I think it's a damn shame to mildly negate a red-hot 2/3/4 like we have right now. I'm not sure I agree with all of this. He wasn't 100% in Sept and Oct, healthier than August I'd say, but nowhere near 100%, and he was pretty awesome in September and October. I think he's just going through a slump like most of our guys went through last year and will go through this year. Unfortunately it is magnified at the beginning of the year. I do think this slump is exacerbated by the fact that he was injured at the end of spring though. He's obviously not "right" Hopefully he'll break out sooner than later.
  14. QUOTE(ShoeLessRob @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) That's good, now I'm wondering since I've only seen him pitch twice this year. Once in ST and the other a couple of games back ... Has his windup changed drastically? Looks more fluid. He's definitely throwing a lot more strikes, so I think it's a small change in mechanics and a big change mentally
  15. QUOTE(ShoeLessRob @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) so in other words ... Thornton looked pretty damn good, eh? Very much so. The best part might have been how he stayed composed. 3 of the weakest hits of the day loaded the bases, and instead of getting flustered by the bad luck, he threw more strikes and then K'd Granderson on another nasty slider to win it. I was really impressed.
  16. QUOTE(LoFiStew @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) Mostly fastballs. But he got the final out on a nifty curve for a called strike three. He also K'ed Guillen on a nasty slider.
  17. I laugh at all those Iguchi posts from the spring.
  18. Awesome outing for Thornton! Looked like the best pitcher today.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) Quick question....why Thornton and not Cotts? I don't get it. He pitched extremely well. Same could have happened to Cotts.
