  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 10, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) Yeah, cuz Illinois fans are the only ones who complain about officiating. No, Illinois fans just wrote the book on it and teach the seminars! Thanks for joining the thread today.
  2. That was a foul on Craft, but kind of a cheapie. Don't think the ref had much choice since it was right in front of him.
  3. Biggest difference so far today... only 8 turnover's by IU. They had been turning the ball over at a rate good for 2nd worst in the Big Ten. Killed at Illinois. Let's hope that pace continues these last 3 minutes.
  4. Random note: Thomas gets away with hooks an awful lot. That's not a comment on the foul on Zeller, but on a few plays earlier in the game. That said, he's a good player and knows how to make moves.
  5. Sheehey has got to make open 3 pt shots for this team! As I type that, he buries one. 1 of 3 today, all on good open looks. Need 2 of 3. He doesn't shoot them that often. Not going all Illinois fan on you, but that should have been Craft's 4th foul.
  6. Abell has struggled big time since conference play started. On a separate note, did anyone see the Michigan St. - Purdue game last night? Is it true that Purdue fans were chanting "IU sucks" while down to MSU by 15?
  7. I'm signing off for the night, but the turning point for me in this game is the wide open 3 Jordan Hulls passed up with IU up 8. He shot faked, drove and we turned the ball over. Illinois immediately buries a 3 taking it down to 5. Hulls is one of the best 3 pt shooters in college basketball and cannot pass up that shot. We'd have likely been up 11 and the game likely over. Oh well. Again, congrats to the Illini for a gutsy performance and a big win. Let's go steal one in Columbus Sunday!
  8. Can we stop b****ing about Griffey now? He was very good tonight.
  9. Ok, no more rushing the floor jokes IlliniK! Props to the Illini. They showed guts and didn't give up. The way things have gone, they could have folded easily. No excuses, we simply got beat. Congrats.
  10. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 7, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) You've missed some hilariously bad offensive possessions. I believe we have 4 air balls/bricks. Might be 5. Illinois has had no flow on offense at all, you're right. After a few early threes, Illinois didn't seem to know which way was up. I'd like to think IU had at least a little to do with that.
  11. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 7, 2013 -> 05:58 PM) So IU fans will be shocked if they blow us out? I'm starting to wonder if you guys own TVs. I won't be shocked, but I'm not expecting it. I was shocked when we beat Purdue on the road by 37. It's a road game sandwiched between Michigan and Ohio St. Right now, IU is rushing things in the half court. They need to get themselves under control in the half court and run when they can. You can't fast break in the half court offense!
  12. Not feeling real great tonight either. I think either we win by a blowout or Illinois comes out hot from 3 and makes it very difficult. If we come out flat and end up chasing Illinois, their confidence will rise along with my blood pressure. If IU comes out aggressively and Illinois tries to run with them, we'll run them out of the gym like we did Purdue. Unfortunately, I'm much more thinking along the lines of the former than the latter!
  13. Interesting article about the talent produced by the state of Indiana. Indiana produced 12 of the current 60 B1G starters. Story goes back to the Oden/Conley days. Wall St Journal Article
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 07:42 PM) Bielema took a good amount from Wisconsin. Only 2 coaches remain from his staff. For the most part it only hurt because it was late in the game, Andersen did really well and picked up a few interesting guys that werent even on Wisconsin's radar. Wisconsin probably lost 1-3 upper level recruits over this. But that isnt to bad given the fact that Andersen was only coach from late December. I was just curious if any of the longer standing staff members that had previously stayed when Chryst left, went with him.
  15. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 10:49 AM) Funny you say that, given this article I just ran across...http://www.mlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/02/michigan_michigan_state_just_t.html#incart_river Sure, Indiana gets some calls at home, but this is pretty timely. Hopefully, that article was tongue in cheek, if not it was the dumbest piece of writing I've ever seen. Did he get even one fact right?
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) I dont even look at star numbers anymore. As long as Wisconsin gets reasonable talent, they will have a shot. Supposedly Andersen was able to keep most recruits from switching so Wisconsin should be fine again, even if they dont have the gaudy star numbers. Been meaning to ask you... did Bielema take many assistants with him to Arkansas?
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 01:45 PM) Badger, can you let us have one today? First one to 2 wins?
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 08:39 AM) So Oladipo apparently did a windmill dunk as the clock expired, which is why Crean had that weird stare. Classy. He did, after the time expired. Didn't count. Not something I would recommend doing, but it was after the clock expired and I have to assume he was doing it for the fans. I'm sure they will tell him not to do so again because the opposition could perceive it a different way. Seemed to more of a celebratory thing than an "in your face" kinda thing.
  19. Board down tonight? I haven't been able to pull it up til now. Oh, and..... Go Hoosiers!!
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 12:23 PM) Is that a joke? They should trounce Illinois by double digits. If they break a swear I'll question their Final Four chances. No. I don't assume anything with Big Ten road games. Plus, it's a potential trap game sandwiched between Michigan and a road game at OSU. But yes, IU should win. Things don't always play out that way.
  21. Not to skip past Michigan, but Indiana is 4-0 on the road. Impressive. But....... Next 5 road games: Illinois Ohio State Michigan State Minnesota Michigan Getting back to Michigan... Saturday's home date with the Wolverines is quite important.
  22. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 08:39 PM) Rex, no "clinic" posts this time! We saw what happened 2.5 weeks ago. No clinic posts tonight but that was an impressive win. Granted, Purdue was terrible aside from AJ Hammons, who was awesome. If that kid can find some consistency, he'll be one hell of a player for awhile. For a 7' frosh, he had very good post moves and hit 10 or more FT.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) beat me to it. I know the SEC sucks majorly in basketball but Florida is just absurd. It will be interesting to see them once they get into the tournament and play against non SEC teams. legit Final Four contender, IMO
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2013 -> 02:06 PM) Dontre Wilson James Clark Von Bell Corey Smith Cam Hunt Skipper Timmons Clark and Wilson are on officials right now. Rumors thought he may be close to flipping. I would be shocked if Elliott flipped, they change status to soft verbal when they take visits. His family said he's solid. Gotcha. I didn't know he was visiting Missouri until today. It's funny how teams recruit different players. The only two guys I've heard of on that list are Cameron Hunt and Dan Skipper.
  25. It was a helluva game. I think both teams played well despite some oddities. For most of the game, Zeller was no factor at all, especially on offense. He has really struggled lately. For MSU, Appling was in foul trouble all day and played very little role. I thought Trice played very well in his absence. Didn't hear a lot from Derrick Nix either, but Gary Harris was damned good. Looks like we'll likely have #1 against #3 next Saturday night in Bloomington, or possible #2 vs. #3/4 if Michigan loses tonight.
