  1. What the f*ck is happening that Wisconsin has more dunks than IU? Would be nice is Watford would show up in the 2nd half.
  2. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) Dammit. Hoosiers had some momentum until that Sheehey foul. Which was a stupid call. But until they start getting good looks on offense and play better D, nothing else matters.
  3. IU should just keep feeding Zeller and see if he can get 40. No one else seems to be getting clean looks.
  4. This is not Indiana's best lineup. Sheehey has been cold lately. Oladipo and Hulls back in which should help.
  5. Remy Abell has played out of control a lot lately, after playing well for most of the year. IU needs to figure out how to play D against Wisky. Here is a quick secret about IU. When Jeremy Hollowell enters the game, he is guaranteed to shoot almost immediately. EVERY time!
  6. Kentucky in a tight one against Tennessee @ Rupp. 49-48 UK w/ 9+ minutes left. In other news, Tennessee may have the ugliest unis, I have ever seen. #0 is wearing the all orange uni, orange shoes, orange socks to his mid calf, and orange compression sleeves on both knees and his left arm. That is WAY too much orange! Can't read the names on the back either. Whoever designed that uni should be fired!
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 11:36 PM) No problem. I thought you were piling on the earlier comment about the Indiana fan who has a bad feeling because they have to watch Wisconsin basketball: "I do too, but that feeling could be because I'm going to have to watch Wisconsin play basketball." Which is just so hilarious as Bo Ryan credit's Bob Knight for teaching him a lot about basketball. Non-PC or not, Wisconsin and Butler are about the only two teams I can think of that can out "white guy" Indiana. I was kind of hinting at the irony. The bottom line is the ball has to go in the basket to win. None of the rest matters other than goofballs like us talking on a message board.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 11:23 PM) Wow it's been that long since IU has beat Bucky? I never would have guessed that. I wouldn't really say Wisconsin has dominated IU in that time. I mean their record the past 5 seasons is just 10-0 with their closest win by 2 pts on 2-13-08, the first of the 10. After that, IU has stayed within 10 points 3 whole times and been blown out (big enough differential I didn't feel like hurting my head trying to do the math) 4 out of the 10. Here's a quick list... 2008 - 13 pt win @ Wisky, 2 pt win @ IU 2009 - 2 blowout wins 2010 - 2 blow out wins 2011 - 9 & 10 pt wins 2012 - 7 pt win @ Wisky, 8 pt win in BTT So I don't see how it's been THAT bad! Can you say pain in our proverbial ass???? Let's hope this crap ends Tuesday night!!!
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) Not sure who you are referring to. The reason Wisconsin hasnt lost to Indiana since January 31, 2007 (Indiana stormed the court that day, guess their fans knew it would be a long time before they beat Wisconsin) really hasnt had anything to do with non-athletic white players. If you are referring to Rob Wilson last year, he is actually a black athletic player who never got a lot of minutes because he was to careless with the ball. The year before Wisconsin got 28 points and 39 points out of Jordan Taylor, another non-white player. There is a certain irony about Indiana fans saying "non-athletic white guy". That being said, I guess you can make up any excuse for why Wisconsin has beaten Indiana, but seeing as Im pretty sure not one player on the Indiana team has ever been part of a team that has beat Wisconsin, I think its a little more than the fluke you make it out to be. To be clear though. Wisconsin should be a severe underdog tomorrow, no real reason to believe they will win. Outside of the Illinois game, they havent been that good and its on the road. Don't that personally. It wasn't a slam at all. And its more perception than reality, because you're right Wilson is the one that truly came out of nowhere. My comment was really a backhanded measure of respect because Wisconsin seems to get the most out of their players. Accurate or not, I think that's a fairly common perception. And you're right, there is an irony in the comment when coming from IU. Also, a reason I made a comment which by some may not be read as very PC. I hope your feelings about Wisky on the road are right. I think IU will take care of business, but level of respect for what UW has done in past years, especially against IU makes me 2nd guess.
  10. I'm with Badger. I see no let down with IU tomorrow night. In fact, I think the 2nd half may cause them to be even more focused. That said, Wisky always seems to find some tall, non-athletic white guy to go off against IU. So we shall see.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 07:32 PM) Duke. I believe Louisville is the best team in the country but Duke deserves to be ranked 1 at this point IMO. I'm thinking I would go.... 1. Duke 2. Louisville 3. Indiana 4. Michigan 5. Kansas 6. Evansville!
  12. The Purple Aces of Evansville took down Wichita State this afternoon in the bustling metropolis of Evansville, 71-67.
  13. Wasn't mentioned yesterday, but I was really brokenhearted yesterday when Texas A&M beat Kentucky at Rupp Arena! Terribly brokenhearted!!!
  14. If you're a poll voter, who do you vote #1 this week? Duke, who lost this week? Or Louisville, who lost to Duke? Both losses occurred without a regular starter. Does Indiana move up to #3 or do they go to #4 with Michigan just dropping to #3? How do you differentiate between that many teams with one loss? Where does Kansas fit? Should the losses of Duke, Michigan and Arizona this week really affect their stature?
  15. Damn, Burke's shot got as much of the basket/rim as possible without going in!
  16. Looks as if OSU may hang on.... not over yet, though.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 01:20 PM) Every game Trey Burke has an "omg" crossover or drive. Kid is sick. That was a helluva play. He's kinda good.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 11:31 AM) Sweet! The "Justin Kiss of Death"! Seriously, Minnesota scares me more, as a Michigan fan, than any other team in the Big 10, despite losing yesterday. Their bigs could cause big problems on both ends. Minny is not that big. They just rebound well. Their front line is 6'4, 6'7 and 6'8.
  19. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 12:54 PM) Michigan getting exposed.... Jump shooting team that doesn't play very good defense. They sorely need an inside presence. McGary doesn't have the basketball IQ to be that huge difference this year. I said early on I thought the play of Jordan Morgan would be the key to how far they can go this year, for that very reason. Winning on the road is proving to be VERY difficult this year. It always is, but it seems to be harder this year with the top half of the conference.
  20. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 01:55 PM) Either that or I know how that 40 is a much, much, much, much, much, much higher number than 15. Indiana should have had an edge in free throws, they were more aggressive. But you can't possibly tell me that they deserved 25 more free throws than an aggressive Gopher team. It's not why we lost (not showing up offensively or defensively for the first 20 minutes is pretty obviously the reason), and it's par for the course in the Big 10, but you're fooling yourself if you think things were called equally on both sides of the court. Bull$hit. Looking at the # of foul shots at the end of the game tells nothing about how the game was called. It doesn't reflect how the game was called. Come up with a better argument for your point. How many of those FT's where toward the end when Minny was frantically trying to come back? At least 8-10. How many FT's did IU shoot in the first half when they built their lead? A lot less than the 2nd half. I thought the game was called well. I don't get wrapped up in a call here or there because that happens in every game. Sure I thought there were calls we could have gotten that could have gone the other way, but I saw several of the opposite variety. Fans see what they want to see. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but "calls" in no way affected the game. There were very few cheap calls and the game was very physical. IU also drives and causes more fouls simply because of the way it was played. I assure you if I thought we were benefiting from bad calls in a lopsided manner, I'd sheepishly admit it, be thankful and move on to the next game. But there was no major imbalance there today. EDIT: IU shot 4 FT's in the first half while they built their lead. So most of the FT's they shot was while they were losing their lead. I'm struggling to see your point. Maybe we should have just asking the refs not to call the fouls, because obviously we played better without them.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) 3 fouls on a three point jump shooter and leaving Hollins inexplicably down the stretch. Yeah it was incredibly stupid. Meanwhile, Illinois tells Minny your first half wasn't bad enough. Not arguing with that. You didn't say he made stupid plays. You said he plays stupidly. If you watched any of the rest of the game, or other games, you'd realize I'm right.
  22. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) I saw the 2nd half of the "clinic" - wasn't very good. I'll help you then. The "clinic" was good enough to that it built a lead that Minny couldn't overcome. IU played too defensive/conservatively in the 2nd half trying to protect the lead rather than trying to win the game doing what they did in the first half. That said, Minny turned up the pressure and IU had 6 missed FT's from 90% FT shooters. Give Minny credit for the first and last five minutes of the 2nd half especially. They hit some amazing shots. From the looks of it, the "clinic" must have left Assembly Hall at halftime so it could make it to Madison, WI. I see it is there now.
  23. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) Awful first half, but glad the Gophers at least showed up in the second half. Shame they didn't get the same calls Indiana did, but if we had showed up in the first half it wouldn't have been a problem. Still frustrating, but such is life for the road team in Big 10 play. You've been hanging around the board chatting with Illinios fans too long!
  24. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) For being a good defender, Oladipo doesn't play very smart defensively. That's just stupid. He's one of if not THE best defender in the country. No one is perfect and he made mistakes today, but to say is doesn't play smart is terribly inaccurate. But thanks for your valuable insight!
