QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) The Badgers aren't the ones with the pressure on them today. Indiana is the one who needs to figure out how to beat Wisky. Duh! We're 0 for like forever against them! But I was kinda wanting a Wisconsin perspective on the game, Mr. Buckeye. Beat MSU today and I'll ask you the same tomorrow. Til then, leave my Hoosiers alone! ;-) Edit: See Rock, I read this and assumed it was you butting in! Didn't catch that it was SS2k chiming in. Even though you didn't post it, you probably thought it, so my response stands Rock.

I'm rooting for Southern Miss right now. Would love to see more of the mid-major types this year. Lunardi was on ESPN Radio a couple of weeks ago and stated that even though a bunch of upsets in mid to small conferences makes his job harder, he is rooting for that to happen this year because the bubble is abnormally weak. When asked why he had Tennessee in, he basically made it sound like he flipped a coin without actually saying it. It was kind of like "who else is better?". I hope Ole Miss gets pounded today. Maybe combining that with a Southern Miss upset of Memphis and the SEC gets relegated to two teams in? That would be sweet! Though it would not shock me if Tennessee somehow still sneaks in. -
Badger, I'd like your thoughts on Wisky's keys to victory today. Aside from the obvious control the tempo and make shots! Who's been hot, who hasn't been? Who might surprise? Where might the Badgers have problems? Any words of wisdom from the Cheese State?

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) People who schedule fall weddings are assholes. Is there a Like button on here?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) Thats awesome. Sometimes you gotta plan ahead. Football season is worse. We have family weddings that have gotten moved because the game got picked up on prime time. There is the flaw in your family. In the South, the football schedule is reviewed before fall weddings are scheduled. Typically only done days of bye weeks, road games or cream puffs. Every once in awhile someone screws up and attendance is low. lol

Nice exclamation point from Oladipo!

That was a terrible possession for Illinois. Ferrell bailed them out with the foul. Krush, Dakich was asked on his radio show the other day why he's nice when broadcasting games but such a jerk on his show. His answer "I'm just the real me. Everybody that knows me personally knows I'm generally a jackass".

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) Go f*** yourself. I was about to sing Kumbaya, but your post woke me up. F**k Illinois!
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 11:34 AM) I wasn't trying to take away from him, he's had some good finishes, we just keep letting him have open ones too. I understand your frustration. I was also about to say I told you so until Illinois missed those two 3's. Still too close with too much time left.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) Yogi Ferrell's also really good at making uncontested layups. f*** you could make a drinking game out of it. Here's the lane, why don't you take it. Rex I see nothing that leads me to believe we can actually get back in this, unless we make 2-3 3's in a row or something. To me, this doesn't have the same feel. LOL, I was being more general in nature. He's smooth using the left hand and that's not something a lot of kids can do well, open layup or not. I'm not sure I agree with you on the feel. I think the only difference is the game isn't in Champaign. Maybe that's enough. But if Illinois can hit 2 or 3's in a row, the momentum could swing quickly. I'd be much more comfortable if we were up 18-20 right now. A 10-12 point lead scares me because I think this team goes on cruise control sometimes. I'm hoping they learned from the last Illinois game.
-
Yogi Ferrell is as good with using his left hand as I have seen in a freshman, esp for a PG. This game feels a lot like the first game at Illinois. Indiana controlled most of the game, but let Illinois hang around and didn't put them away. Credit Illinois for not quitting and finding a way to get hot late. Let's hope that doesn't happen again!

How many years has there been a Big Ten tournament?
-
Remy Abell makes his first shot since December. Or seems like it anyway.. Edit: There's the Abell we've come to expect since January!
-
If Hanner Perea could get the confidence to be under control, he could be dangerous. But right now, he gets up for rebounds, but can't haul them in. He has trouble catching the ball in traffic and when he does catch the ball, he misses the bunny shot, usually long. It's like me on a long pool table. No touch!

How crazy is it that Zeller and DeShaun Thomas were not unanimous 1st Team All-Big Ten? That may have been the craziest sequence I've ever seen when nothing happens! Did Zeller really travel there? I'm not sure he did.
-
Indiana just going right after Illinois and drawing a foul on almost every possession, called or not. Indiana is very good when their spacing on offense is good. Has been good the last 7-8 minutes.
-
Mike Sanzere - one of my all-time favorite officials!
-
Abell has sucked since January!
-
Would be really nice to see Sheehey get hot and score about 15-20 today.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 10:17 AM) Illinois hasn't taken the time to get a quality look on offense yet. I've seen this movie before. I was going to tell Krush, if Illinois is going to win, they better figure out how to score more than 51. But after seeing both teams shoot so far, I might be wrong. First one to 50 wins?
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 10:11 AM) Illinois playing good D so far, despite the calls I'm complaining about they're letting quite a bit go on both ends. Not sure what you are complaining about. They called Zeller on the foul he deserved. The screw up was the call they should have made on Hulls but instead gave it to the screener. Then they don't call one when Zeller practically gets shoved out of bounds after Oladipo tried to draw a foul in the lane and missed. Not sure how much they are letting go since it seems there has been a whistle every 30 seconds.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 08:47 PM) Of course not. Stop being logical and worry about losing tomorrow morning. Sorry, I'll go back to grandstanding with a large dose of homerism!

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) The Big Ten will have 2 8-10 conference record teams in a tournament to win a National Championship. The "why even have a regular season" because the tournament has too many teams ship has already sailed. 8-10 or 9-9... or even 10-8. Records are deceiving because of unbalanced conference schedules. That's why they look at the whole body or work, not just the conference season. Iowa screwed themselves by playing NOBODY in the non-conference part of the schedule. The committee has said year after year, if you don't schedule good teams, there is no automatic benchmark for qualification, aka 20 wins or .500 in conference play. The tournament is perfect as it is. The whole regular season matters. There is a good mix of little guys and major schools. It is entertainment at its best! The only change I would make would be with the conference tournaments in the smaller school leagues. Neutral sites don't work in the smallest of leagues. The team that wins the conference should be awarded a home court advantage. There are a lot of ways to do it, but that would help protect the Middle Tennessee's of the basketball world.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 10:32 AM) There have been reports on him staying another year and then some on him going lottery. I wouldnt mind seeing the kid jacking up shots one more year thats for sure. I never thought he would develop as a team player the way he has this year. He's not a senior??? Son of a bithc! -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 08:45 AM) DeShaun Thomas outscores every player on the first team. Outrebounds them as well I assume (without looking). I'm a big Thomas fan. Wish he had been wearing candy stripe warmup pants the past four years!
