QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 06:09 PM) Awesome That site is awesome during football season too. Lists every televised game and all coverage maps. Have been using it for 4-5 yrs now.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) It will be interesting to see how they fit all of these kids in. I don't think they are going to have as many kids who are able to make the NBA jump this time around. Holy Tom Crean! How is Kentucky going to manage the roster. They currently have two seniors listed on their roster and Noel. They now have 7 commits. That's double the match Tom Crean has to make work and Kentucky is not a state known for it's math skills.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 05:42 AM) Callipari apparently went to Tom Crean's class on why you don't need to play zone on an under the basket out of bounds like 99.9% of other coaches do. Not sure what you mean. Crean almost always plays zone on out of bounds plays, to the point he gets criticized for it.

Have to post here too, just for emphasis. Kentucky loses to Robert Morris tonight, 59-57. Top seed in the NIT had to go on the road to face the Colonials and laid an egg. This just breaks my heart!! -
My problem with Florida is this.... They are 0-6 this year in games decided by less than 10 points this year. They are 26-1 in games decided by 10 or more. Which Florida team will show up? They can't escape close games the whole tournament. How will they respond?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 07:44 PM) Ha, ha, suck it Kentucky! Where is that LIKE button? EDIT: When I posted this originally, I didn't know Kentucky had actually lost. Now I am even HAPPIER! One thing I have a problem with is what was in ESPN's recap of the game (many have made similar references, not just ESPN): This batch of Wildcats (21-12) hasn't been the same since center Nerlens Noel went down with a devastating knee injury. Kentucky lost six of its final 10 games, I'm sorry, but Kentucky wasn't worth a damn all year, before or after Noel got hurt!

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) IU will make it to the Final Four because Cosmo thinks Will Sheehey is one of the hottest guys of March Madness. All I know is a good friend of mine got all hot and bothered when she got a glimpse on Will's chest tattoo on game. The jersey covers it up and she's been dying to get a better look. She calls him her future ex-husband. That's the only time I've ever seen the tattoo. The camera caught him bending forward lining up on the FT lane.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 12:59 AM) Since I live in Kansas I'd love your opinion of KU and its fanbase. Do you all ever run into Kansas fans? As far as this region ... Kansas has iffy point guard play in Johnson and Tharpe. Ben McLemore who is a 2 guard, however, is good. Say what you want about Bill Self. He is a good coach. I think Kansas might get upset by North Carolina this time. If KU survives that game and also the Michigan game, I think it will win it all. Those 2 games are very very difficult for Kansas IMO. I can't see the J-hawks beating Michigan. I haven't run into the Kansas fan base in a long time, but IU played KU a few times in the early 90's and Kansas fans were always courteous. I don't recall anything negative about them other than they beat IU twice in 1993, which was the last great team IU has had. I really felt if Alan Henderson wouldn't have gotten hurt, we'd have won the 2nd time in the Elite 8, but KU was good that year.

A couple more games I'd like a few .02 on..... VCU (5) - Akron (12) - I'll admit I don't know much about Akron. But Ohio beat Michigan last year and Akron handled Ohio in the MAC final. As tough as VCU is to play, they can struggle to score and if guards can handle the pressure, they are beatable, even by a lesser team. I know VCU is everyone's darling pick, but could this year by Chaka Smart's year to fall to the 12/5 jinx and by higher expectations? San Diego St (7) - Oklahoma (10) - Gut says go chalk, but not for a specific reason. Upsets? Minny over UCLA? UCLA's PG is hurt and won't play. Who the hell knows what you'll get out of Tubby and Co. Florida Gulf Coast over Georgetown? I think G'town plays defense too well, but they can struggle on offense. AND, the last 4 appearances for G'town have ended in losses to double digit seeds. Thoughts?

I liked the Jackrabbits as a possible upset team before I saw the draw. To me this comes down to no matter how good Wolters is, Michigan still has the best player in the game in Trey Burke. SD St. doesn't play good defense, so this one should be at least very fun to watch!

Tough region! More questions for my $50 bracket entry. Here are the games I'd like opinions on for this region. Colorado State (8) - Missouri (9) - I know Col St is tough. Total toss up in my mind. Oregon (12) - Oklahoma State (5) - Classic 12/5 upset? I think Oregon is seeded wrong big time. They are 21-4 with their PG and were 5-5 when he was gone. Memphis (6) - I really don't want to pick Memphis. Give me a good reason why.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) Duke as the 2 with Louisville. They need to stop using the phrase 'No. 1 overall seed' because anyone who thinks Duke is the eighth best team in the country is an idiot. They probably had Georgetown as the #8 but due to bracketing rules couldn't put them with Louisville. They couldn't put Ohio State in the East with Indiana so they had limitations. Bracketing rules consistently mess up the "S-Curve". Perfect example is Oregon and Cal were both 11 seeds but had to be dropped to the 12 line to make the bracket work. Most of the time we don't know what adjustments were made.

Again need help picking games for a $50 entry pool. Here are the games in this reason I would like some insight on. Already saw some on ISU - ND. Wisconsin (5) - Ole Miss (12) - I have Wisky picked but am hesitant to really believe in them when not playing Indiana. I've bashed Miss all year so I don't see myself changing my mind, but I'd love alternate thoughts. Notre Dame (7) - Iowa State (10) - I went against ISU last year against UConn and they bit me in the ass. Does anyone have a strong argument for the following upsets? - Boise State/LaSalle over K State? Belmont over Arizona?
-
Filling out a bracket ($50 entry) and need some insight. Please give me your thoughts on the following games and the odds of an upset. Anything you know about the teams to support your comments would be great. Here are the games for this region I'm looking for further analysis. Montana (13) vs. Syracuse (4) - Note: A 13 has beaten a 4 each of the last 5 years. Is this the one? Marquette (3) vs. Davidson (14) - Is Davidson good enough? Illinois (7) vs. Colorado (10) - Find it interesting that Colorado gets a higher seed than Oregon. Don't know much about Colorado.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) NC State could be an epic second round game, definite shootout potential. IU should have the edge though because NC State can't defend at all. NC State is talented, but defense notwithstanding they have one major flaw. Mark Gottfried as a Head Coach.

Anyone familiar with selling tickets on Stub Hub? If I list tickets there but sell them on my own, is there a penalty or fee to take them off Stub Hub or should I just raise my price so high that I know they won't sell to avoid penalties? -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) But youre just not going to push pace against Wisconsin. It happens maybe 1-2 times a season? It just is a game plan based on planning for the best case scenario. You push the pace on missed shots. If you don't try and get Wisconsin to do what they normally don't, you play right into their hands. I don't think they can shoot this well in the 2nd half. If they do, they'll win. If not, IU will pull away and win by 7.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) I just am not sure what the Indiana game plan is here. On the offensive end they have a lot of good match ups, yet they seem more concerned about frantically pushing pace than just settling in and taking advantage. The idea is to push the pace and get points off the fast break or secondary break. If its not there, to pull the ball back and set up. Sometimes when you are trying to push the pace and the other team is scoring, you tend to play too fast and force shots. It's not the game plan, its frustration they aren't getting enough stops on the defensive end.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 12:26 PM) They can eat donkey feces. WHAT THE HELL. THE GAME STARTED FORTY SIX f***ING MINUTES AGO. I MISSED NEARLY THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF. I ARE F*cking pissed!!!!

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 11:05 AM) If you are a Wisconsin fan the keys to the game are pretty simple. 1) Contain Zeller. No easy run outs, make him stay planted under the basket on the defensive end and make him bang against Kaminsky/Berg every possession. 2) Offensive flow. Wisconsin needs to work inside/out. They can not just sit around the arc and jack 3 pointers. That results in giving Indiana easy defensive possessions (where they dont have to work) and also leads to fast breaks (long 3s= long rebounds.) 3) Ryan Evans. Wisconsin cant survive a 1-10 game. He needs to be efficient. 4) Brust/Dekker someone needs to shoot 3s The reality is there is only 1 key, keep the game close whatever it takes. Wisconsin has won something stupid like 54 out of 55 games when winning with less than 5 minutes. In a close game at the end I think Wisconsin has the advantage. The problem is if Indiana gets up 10+ Wisconsin could panic and just play dumb Thanks for the analysis. I can't argue with any of it. I think the key to Indiana is to get the game to the 70's (or as close as possible) and push the tempo on missed shots. Missed 3's make it easier as you said. If Indiana is not super efficient on offense, they cannot get lulled into a slow paced game that stays in the 50's. Hulls seems to be a bit under the weather. He's been coughing a lot the past few games. He didn't score much yesterday so we'll see if that affects him much. Watford can't be passive on offense. Wisconsin shooting like they did in the first half yesterday wouldn't hurt!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 10:10 AM) Lets just get this out of the way. f*** you Rex. Now good luck. On Wisconsin. I was much more diplomatic in the way I said it. Just shows us Hoosiers fans have class and you Buckeyes are well.... Just fill in the blank with your favorite derogatory word or slur!
