  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) Eddie lacy could go bats*** crazy and run for 250 yards. not with briggs back
  2. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) There is zero chance the Packers beat the Bears or the Steelers without Rodgers.* *Unless the Bears already have the division locked up. fixed that for you
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) As a fan it's aggravating, but it's the right thing to do. Packers will be in the playoffs every year as long as Aaron Rodgers is healthy. It's also going to be hilarious when the Packers win the division with Matt Flynn as QB. you guys beat the falcons and the cowboys and now that means winning the division? nope. and you will be lucky to make the playoffs half the time during rodgers career. Heard the same nonsense with favre after the late 90s run. You are probably bummed that Rodgers is such a quitter.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 03:21 PM) There's a big problem there. It's really, really, really tough to keep Deng, get a top draft pick, and have the money to bring in Mirotic. By my count, the Bulls have less than $10 million under the cap if they amnesthetize Boozer. Part of that gets chewed up by a draft pick. $5 million+ is probably required to bring Mirotic over. That leaves literally zero dollars for Luol Deng. IIRC, the Bulls would have to renounce his Bird rights in order to be far enough under the cap to bring Mirotic over. what about if the bulls sign deng before the picks? then sign the picks and get in the luxury tax(I know wishful thinking, but hypothetically speaking) but there's gotta be a way to bring in the new guys while keeping deng. Disclaimer: Only interested in bringing in Deng at a discount.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 02:52 PM) Whoa, that is a blast from the past! good to be back
  6. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 02:34 PM) I think he meant in a "we're not going to win squat for a while and everyone is just going to be thinking about the good old days". we're not going to win squat with the roster currently constructed.... but the following CAN happen... Top 3-5 Bulls pick 11-15 Bobcats pick Bring in Nikola Amnesty Boozer Rose returns to form (felt this way ever since the news that it was NOT an acl) sign deng to lesser deal? (was not a fan of bringing deng back, but that depends on what what spots we land in the draft) That team can contend. Every one of those scenarios is not as crazy as the 1.8% chance we struck years ago.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) The 90s Bulls are about to become the 85 Bears. in what sense? Are you really comparing 6 rings to 1? Not that I would be ok with not winning additional titles, but for my lifetime, as a bulls fan, I feel like I am playing with house money. 6 championships in a lifetime is a lot more than 90% of fan-bases(in any sport) can hope for.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) As for tonight's game, it looks like the 2009 Bears are a similar, mediocre 9-7 type outfit as the 2008 Bears. There are some differences, bettter at QB, worse at OL, but it's just another .500 ish, "blob" NFL team that will play a lot of close games and split most of them. Bears were in it until the end on the road against a decent Green Bay team Beat the defending World Champions pulled out a comeback victory in a game we should have won regardless, but it was still on the road @ Seattle Doubled up the lions 48-24 And a forte fumble away from our winning FG drive against one of the top 10 teams in the NFL on the road. f*** YOU ^^^^ Yes mods go ahead and suspend me
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:49 PM) On a sidenote, I want more Wolfe. When he's in the offense looks so much better, well at least the running game looks semi-existent. agreed. It looked like Atlanta wasn't ready for Wolfe, and it showed during his limited duties.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:42 PM) What Cutler has done so far this year with absolutely no o-line support and no running game is absolutely amazing. The guy has made so many huge throws and taken a beating. I can't wait to see what he does when he has time to throw the ball and has a running game to help him out. Yea he made one bad pick (the other was a good read, bad throw) and s*** happens. Cutler once again did what was needed to help the Bears win the game and than some. The guy is a f***ing stud with ice in his veins, he just couldn't over-come all of the oline f***ups. Real bad loss. I'd rather be a Bear fan at 3-2 with Cutler than a Bronco fan at 5-0 with Orton. Cutler is going to win us a lot of big games.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:43 PM) ??? I'd have to check but I think Peyton Manning has more 4th quarter comebacks than any QB in NFL history. However, Cutler has been money in every 4th quarter so far for us, to include Week 1 where the game ended in a INT because prior to Payne and Vasher blowing coverage as usual, he had given us the lead. I'm talking about the series of events with all the penalties. Cutler got us from 3rd and 25 to 4th and 1.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) In the end, Jay Cutler can't over come all of the stupid penalties. Cutler can play for my team any day. Peyton Manning would not have gotten out of that mess. I hate the loss, but I am f***ing happy that we have a qb with balls in crunch time. Bad ending, but that was fun to watch that 80 + yard drive.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 07:42 PM) Domimant DE's are very valuable. Gaines has the tools to be that. Its a ballsy move but the Bears wouldn't have had a shot at this type of physical specimen in the 2nd round of next years draft. I don't like mortaging our picks, but in this case I don't mind it. I'm done trading picks though, at least without getting more picks back. That said, I expect that we'll deal Urlacher for something in the off-season and pick-up a pick. won't happen
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) Don't they need linebackers and DBs more than DL? No. A fierce DL will make the LBs and DBs better. C'mon, you know better than that. Domino effect DL////LB////CB _ This gives the bears the best DE rotation in all of football. Now we have Ogun's replacement.
  15. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 04:11 PM) Ahh shush, you both knew what I meant by line, (stats)
  16. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) Orton's line is still better than Jay. I agree, Ryan Clady is a beast
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) as a Bears fan, I am not looking forward to the Jared Allen/Orlando Pace matchups coming later in the year Right now I think Jared Allen is the most dominant defensive player in the game, but I think Pace would have a harder time with someone like Dwight Freeney.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) Easily, he's the most dominant force on that team right now. Vikings MVP's in order Allen>AP>Favre
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) I wonder how many TDs I'll lose by to Badger. 3
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) I'm just saying that based on his opponents his numbers should be astronomical right now and they're just very good. I mean 69 yards against the Rams? He only broke 100 yards once so far this season and everyone keeps saying how they haven't played anyone yet. That tends to happen when you only get 15 carries. Did it cross your mind that maybe the Vikings are saving their workhorse for the Ravens and Steelers the next 2 weeks? Is it really worth AP racking up 200 yards in a game that was won in the 1st quarter?
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 10:42 AM) Averaging under 100 yards/game isn't all that impressive these days. The TDs are impressive though. he's 6 yards away from leading the league in rushing. Ap is the last rb I start to doubt. Forte,Portis,Jacobs,Jones Drew,Turner,Slaton and Deangelo Williams have been dissapointments so far, not AP.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) AP isn't the dominant force he should be right now. He isn't taking over games like he has in the past. he's on pace for 1500 yards and 22 tds at 5 yards a carry. Not sure what you are watching.
  23. lol this would be funny if it really were the manning brothers
