  1. Sale was mixing in his change today. One of his best pitches in college as a starter.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) I am sure Cox sent him on the flyball - you know being aggressive I dont disagree with it.
  3. You should be excited Coke, your gopher balls all went foul. And I think he was safe there.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) Well, there you have it. Everyone thought Danks should have been done, Ozzie didn't, and the lead is cut in half..... sigh... f***ing same thing as last night. Seriously, the Sox should hold a contest where a fan gets to manage for a week.
  5. Worst manager in baseball. And Jackson's swing is total garbage, tons of moving pieces.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) The OF is only tied up by guys like Milledge and De Aza though, and Morel at 3b isn't "Tying it up" while on the bench. And then there's Beckham. And AJ. Well, Rios and Viciedo. Morel, Alexei, Beckham, Konerko.
  7. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) I'm glad he wants some young starting pitching, but I want young position players too. We lack that just as much.. True, but if you really look at the big team, you have the entire IF and most of the OF tied up for the next few years.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) Hudson and Stewart are almost identical in where they were in their careers when they were traded. Hopefully the results are similar. Except huddy was younger with more minor league (although brief) domination.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) The time is actually now right for the Braves to move for a bat. McCann got hurt last night on a throw, probably an Oblique injury, probably a DL trip, and Larry came back, played 1 game, and went back to the DL. They be shoppin. If the Sox lose this afternoon, I expect Q to be gone by friday night.
  10. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Filthy Danks absolutely Filthy Nasty factor of 70.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Then it's gonna be real hard for them to match up with the Phitin's. Well then take a look at the Braves system as an alternative. Those are the two that are hottest after Q.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) If they're not moving people from their big league club (i.e. Brown), then the other guys that would match up for Q are their A-ball level pitchers. Kw's main goal right now is to stockpile quality young pitching. Not sure about low level guys though.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) Is Dom Brown possible? I'm not familiar with their system, but I know they are further along in discussions than background work.
  14. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) Buster_ESPN Buster Olney Source: Phillies have done background work on Carlos Quentin, who could be middle-of-the-order bat they covet. Its more than background work....
  15. To be fair, terrible pitch selection by Avila. Low inside slider to a lefty after busing him with fastballs? Terrible.
  16. QUOTE (shakes @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) He loves Domingo Santana, but is more impressed with the arms in the system than the bats. I guess it depends on who the Sox would be dealing to Philly. He also loves Jesse Biddle. Not sure much of their good talent is near ready. Lets say we are dealing an all-star OF'er plus a good pen arm. What would be a good return?
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) I didn't. I just didn't feel like including his name in there as he's made no major impact as of right now. If there really was an offer for the Sox to get Rasmus, I will be PISSED. Because AA basically played Kenny. AA is a hell of a GM. He's buying low on great talent (Escobar, Morrow, etc.) and he's getting good returns from them thus far. I'm willing to bet that Rasmus will turn it around. Not every buy-low turns out, I think we've seen that first hand. And I liked Holmberg the best out of that trade, I hate Huddy's arm action and think he's a shoulder injury risk.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) I'm going to wait until Sunday. Sweet, cant wait to hear your opinions on the next deals coming down.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:02 PM) I went to school in missouri. None of my friends are happy. Regardless of whether they "liked" him, absolutely all of them would rather have kept him than received this package. Its a terrible package in theory, unless Rasmus just falls off the earth somehow. It does seem odd that no other offer was better than what they received though. Why is that?
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) Please, that was just one thread. How about people that get paid to cover this s***? Find one that doesn't believe the Cardinals got sodomized. Kevin Goldstein. http://twitter.com/#!/Kevin_Goldstein And it was one thread on a s*** Cards board thats not even populated. Its not a good deal for them, but you still cherry picked the posts that proves your point of hating KW and the Sox. And still you wont follow up on your statement to take a break from the Sox and this board. All talk no action. You love to be as miserable as possible.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) Cardinals fans after learning of their return for Rasmus: Cherry picking I see. How about the guys who call him lazy, or uncoachable, or a bust?
  22. QUOTE (shakes @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) I know it pretty well. Actually have a friend who scouted for them for a long time. He is retired now, but keeps up with them, had a hand in some of the lower level guys in the system. None of them working out too well. I saw they had some nice lower level bats, anything worth taking?
  23. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) Please stop. Rasmus makes minimum wage compared to Rios. For your sake, i hope you're just being sarcastic with the Rios trade talk. I think its fairly safe to say that the Cards got less for Rasmus than we did for Hudson and Holmberg. A year ago I would have thought that was crazy talk.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) I think someone asking earlier if he's a big named prospect is one of the most unintentionally funny moments in this board's history. Apparently its Shelby Miller not Trevor thats coming over to us. JK
