QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Bye bye, Evan. You pale skinned, b****. He really is a fat f*** now. They didnt stand a chance in that jungle.

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) I like Brown, but Quentin is the kind of player you build around not trade off. He's had his injury issues but he's playing a pretty solid RF and is a yearly 30 HR/ 100 RBI threat. Brown has a long way to go show half of what Q has shown. They say he's maturing and not so hard on himself anymore. The guy was going to be league MVP if he doesn't hurt himself two yeasr ago. If De Aza shows anything, you have a young OF of him, Q, and Viciedo for years to come. I wouldn't be mad if they traded and recived Brown but I'd rather keep Quentin. You dont build around a guy who's career high in games played is 131. He's injured constantly and is inconsistent offensively. He's exactly the type of guy you sell high.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) LHolmes670 Laurence Holmes I'm told a lot of unrest w/ Bears Free-Agents: One player told me: "Bears are p****-footing around, on a lot of guys." Blah blah blah. Those guys think they are going to just get offers immediately. I like taking the patient route. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 10:43 AM) Ha what? You think Kreutz would drop them to only winning 4-5 games? Wasnt he rated one of the worst blocking centers in the NFL last season? -
QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 10:45 AM) The Daily News writer covering the Phils proposed a Brown, Singleton and Cosart deal for Carlos on Tues. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/phillie...the-farm--.html It was interesting to see the 61 comments on his article. Would a 1 for 1 deal be that far fetched? There was apparently alot of internal discussions with the Sox on this from then and moving forward. Like I said before more than "background work." The good news is KW is waiting for our series with Boston to be over to make a serious move and that will only move the price up for desperate teams. You HAVE to move CQ for that package.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) @cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Breaking News: The city of Toronto wanted me thrown in the deal, but Chicago said, "No way, not Mr. Handsome.'' Sorry Toronto. That's not douchey, not at all. It is ironic since he is hated in Toronto, probably more than here. -
QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) geez i know, stupid yankees (arod) and orioles ( ripken) listen i was not saying do this. it was just an idea. instead of just locking into looking for a 3B what if we could get a legit SS. moving alexi to 3b would give us a good glove and arm there, as well as good bat. A-rod was not GG caliber and either was Ripken when he moved. Alexei is one of the best SS in the league, he IS legit.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) That's crazy if true. Mozeliak blew it. It said he confirmed it. Holy s***. Thats much better than the Toronto offer and frankly anything our offer would have been. -
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) He gets traded away and he's still doing charity work tonight in Chicago. Seems like a classy guy. He is actually a very good guy from what I hear. Its too bad his contract blows.

Pretty stupid to move a gg caliber SS to 3B.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) Viciedo could be a bust, and so could De Aza, yeah that would be sweet.... hell, Dominic Brown could be a bust too though it's less likely than those other two guys you mentioned I honestly dont see how Viciedo can be a bust. He would be one of the best hitters on the team right now if he put up last seasons numbers. And that was before he knew how to take a walk.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) Hollowell is a five star basketball recruit. It was a very big story in Indiana, and he got it dead wrong. It wasnt totally off the wall though. Rumors are rumors. -

I heard the Sox WERE talking to an NL central team regarding our pitching, so this may have legs. I think a few posters will back me up that i mentioned it this morning. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:33 PM) I dunno, his seems more an opportunity problem; a .760 OPS (101 ops+) at age 23 in 148 at bats wasn't terrible. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gamelma01.shtml He had 17 at bats last year, and only has 27 this year. The rumor doesn't even key on who the Sox are offering up and might be completely bogus, but hey, it's Trade Winds! Pitching. -

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) I really wish Rios would just go back to his old stance with those hands way low. At least he had an awesome first half last year with it. But I guess it's academic now since we'll be seeing De Aza out there the rest of the year if he can produce like he did today. A nice series win, but if the manager of this team was Soxtalk, we would most likely have swept as all of us could see Peavy was done after the 5th yesterday. Really what a joke to give a win away like that. How about trying something new and dont completely take your legs out of your swing? His stance is ridiculous. -
QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:11 PM) mlbtr is reporting that some think Pence is off the market. With Beltran moved, does this make Q the best available bat? Time to go farm-raping. Q is the best power bat out there. Philly and Atl are in on him at the moment.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) .555 OPS vs .733 It's not even close. Rios is utterly useless. Yes, when you compare that one stat. But you also take into mind their age, defensive ability and actual dollars involved in their contracts. Rios has 3 years at roughly 12.5 per and Soriano has 3 years at 18 million per. Thats 15 million dollars more to take on an aging, broken down crappy DH. -

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/artic...or&c_id=tor Thank you sir. And I wonder what Colby will do not getting to face the Astros, Cubs, Brewers and Pirates pitching day after day as opposed to the Red Sox, Rays, Yanks and O's. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) I'd say the Cubs are a lot more likely to eat salary on Soriano than the Sox would be with Rios. Maybe, but all things considered, Sorianos contract is worse. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) Dude, there's no f***ing way. He's harder to deal than Alfonso Soriano. Not so sure about that. They are probably equally hard with Rios possibly being a little easier. -
