  1. Those conspiracy hate sites that are pulling people from the middle to the extreme edges are the root of the problem in this country. The misinformation is too readily available and is presented as far too believable. If Trump wants to make America great, start by governing and removing those.

  2. I don’t respect the opinions of people anywhere defending or humanizing white supremacists. You are certainly entitled to it, but nobody has to give two shits about it and i certainly don’t. This alt right conspiracy theory bullshit is ruining the minds of people across the country.  The fact that this “movement” is back after decades of operating in the shadows should scare everyone.  I know if my grandfather was alive he would once again tell me about his experience fighting these assholes.

This most recent kid going on a senseless rampage wearing a nazi t shirt (if it’s true) isn’t the end. And I personally won’t ever accept it as a valid point of view.

When I came to Chicago for a visit last fall I tried to get into Brother Rice to go say hi to the basketball coach and couldn't get in. I'm sure if I rang the bell, etc., I might have talked my way in, but I was kind of busy and left. But I guess it's nice my visit proved you just can't walk up to a private school and get in any more. I also tried to get in Queen of Martyrs church to look around and the doors were locked and I'm thinking it's because it's connected to a school. Kudos to them. Of course who knows what happens if a madman shoots off the locks and a madman enters.

I think part of that is also its location.  Most schools will have a main office door unlocked, but everything else is locked from the outside.

I got a little baby and my wife keeps saying he ain’t going to public school all the time now.  Sorry wallet 😐.  Thanks morons.  Frickin animals always ruining things.  Wait can I say animals here?

Our local private schools are probably less secure just by judging the outside.  I dont know if thats universal.

  5. I have to go on a run to work this out internally.  I'm sure im not alone in being sick to my stomach.  As a parent, you send your kids to school with the understanding you get to have them back when its over.  I cannot imagine that level of pain.

You know, I was a youngster during 9/11, but I always thought that when they found Osama, they should bring him back to the US. Tie him up in the middle of NYC. For a $5, you can punch him once. You can get unlimited punches. Every dollar given goes to the victims' families.

Maybe we can do this for these idiots, too.

I want a fucking ban on putting these school shooters names in the media or anywhere.  Make them a nothing.  Report on the victims.  These idiots want the publicity.

He's 17 right? The Texas penal code penalties for making firearms accessible to minors only apply if the shooter is under 17.

Gross.  It should be anyone but its lawful owner.  I get its texas though.

I cant believe more people have died in schools than members of our military in 2018.  Lets swap some funding?

I don't understand how he had the space to make pipe bombs and pressure cookers without anyone finding out or thinking something was messed up?!?

Oh and fuck the media for plastering the names of these guys all over. It is exactly what they want

Exactly, they are learning from each other.  Stop putting every piece of info out there.

KIds dad is part of the problem here. He should definitely be prosecuted for careless storage of a deadly weapon.

Let's be honest, all of the same people who 20 years ago were calling things "relationships between consenting adults" are perfectly willing to dig into the Stormy/Trump thing for political gain.

It absolutely has to do with the letter after the name

I think both should be impeached for lying.

How can you defend yourself from Home Invaders Coming To Rape and Kill Your Family if you don't have loaded guns stashed around your house in strategic locations?

My main home defense firearm is a shotgun.  Its located not far from my bed in an extremely secure safe.  The shells are in another biometric safe.  Common sense.

checks all the boxes...Nazi insignia/cross on trench coat worn at all times despite Texas heat, bullying victim, was once an honor roll student, father supports Loesch/NRA, access to guns at home, social media postings about guns/violence/born to kill, white/middle class background, seems parents were separated?

NRA members should know better than to leave guns unsecured, right?

It says in that article that his teammates said he wasnt bullied.

Also, while we're at it, can we just kill these assholes? Why is this guy allowed to live out his days in a prison? Just get rid of him already.

The parents of the victims should be able to have that option.  I know thats inhumane and all, but jesus christ.

I would imagine he means after school starts. You obviously couldn't have that situation in case of a fire.

Our high school has an open campus, alot of the kids leave for lunch and come back. It saves the school tons of money and valuable resources.  There is no way to put that genie back in the bottle.

god I hate to think this way, but tactically, what a setup for a shooter that would be. You get position and either you have a stampede when you take your first shot, or you have all of your targets trapped, or funneled into a single area.

Thats literally a sniper's dream.  Funnel every target out one exist.  He could mow down 50 before reloading.

No. However, something like a ban on all semi-automatic weapons could be the next step from greater regulations in ammo, magazines and vetting (all of which I'm am in favor of).

I mean, its legal to purchase armor piercing bullets.  WTF would you need that for?

Ill add, they arent supposed to manufacture it.

  16. Just now, ptatc said:

I fully agree with this. I don't have a problem with it personally.

My entire point is that when people say, "the slippery slope" complaint won't happen in this case. i think they are wrong. Once the barrier of gun control is broken down, the regulations will be much greater then these.

Today people arent allowed to own every "arm" that is made.  So this restriction already exists.  I dont see clamoring for RPG's.  From my experience with other owners at ranges etc, these are people who have a purpose for their weapon.  Hunting, protection, whatever.  And banning certain types of ammo, accessories, models, and increasing regulations wouldnt effect them.

The ones who are in office and in power are representing their constituents quite well in this case.

I'm not sure I agree with this.  Every single poll I've seen has a very large majority of people in this country in favor of more gun control.   There are obviously some "areas" where that isnt the case but it has to line up with a majority of the politicians in office.

    I agree with this.

Just because you don't see a problem with the "slippery slope of gun control" doesn't mean that those you do don't have justifiable concerns.

People who are upset with more vetting and certification for owning a gun are exactly the people who shouldnt own a gun.  More laws wouldnt impact me in the slightest with mine.

  19. 8 minutes ago, Jenksismyhero said:

Have a political rep advocate for it! A much easier sell than changing gun control laws, an effort that has failed for decades despite numerous tragedies. Again, try something different if we're not satisfied with the change in gun laws. Try a different angle to prevent/limit the problem. Why continue to focus (solely) on an issue that has zero chance of changing in the short term. Why not try something that actually has a chance?

We had better control a couple of decades ago.  Its not impossible.

I agree something has to be done, but its more than adding some locks to schools.  Mass shootings are happening everywhere.  If its not the gun itself, you need to work on making sure the politicians reflect what the people want, which is more common sense control over who owns these weapons.

Go back to 4chan with your buddy.

There are more members of white supremacist groups than MS-13 In this country.
