Sit down you overpaid hack.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) Unrealistic expectations and hope are not the hallmark of being a fan. Expectations of your team and hope that they win are not indicative of being a fan? Really? What is? b**** and moaning and constantly saying negative comments about the players, coaches and front office?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) You don't need blind hope in the post season to still watch the games. Some people call blind hope "being a fan."

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) It is true technically, but this team hasn't show any consistency for fire this year that would be necessary to pull of a legendary run like that. We don't rally late, we don't score a lot of runs early, we aren't sure who our fifth starter is, our first starter hasn't won since July, we can't run the bases for s***, and we don't field the ball. I just don't see it happening. That really doesnt need to be a legendary run. Det can lose 9 of ten and we are right back behind them is some of those games are against us.
-
QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) No, they aren't. If you think they are, then just turn off our TV/radio/gameday and move on to the Bears. Amen, dont waste your time watching something hopeless and posting on a message board about it when you could be working, working out, doing something constructive with yourself.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) Detroit is just way too far ahead of us. But we all know that. No, because we were tied with them a little over a month ago until we went into a several game slide in the period of two weeks, the same can happen to Det especially if we beat the s*** out of them head to head. There is so much time left.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) Detroit about to win again. We should be mathematically eliminated fairly soon. Hahaha. Yes. If somehow today's game is worth 15 in the standings.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:03 PM) Not very fast. They may start teeing off him. Its all about location and movement, and he's showing he's good at both right now.

Way to help yourself out Carlos.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) What is the fastest fastball Torres has thrown today? 91 i think
-
Backhand grab in the hole. Good range to his RIGHT.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) Me neither. I say we offer 2/$7 and take the chance that he can hit like this for another year or two. That way, if Mitchell comes along earlier than expected, you aren't killing yourself too badly with a bench player making $3.5 million. You could get him for cheaper than that. Give him a million and a team option for year 2.
-
Wow Gordo, two pretty easy pitches to hit in that at bat.
-
PODs is seeing the ball very well out of Dempster's hand.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) He always pitches out of the stretch. He did it last year in the AFL. I don't think it's a Coop thing. I swear he had a small abreviated windup once he was called up.
-
Whew, almost a double for Torres. Hawk, Wise didnt just miss it, he hit the ball like he usually does.
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) Probably, because he makes contact so little that each time it’s like a pleasant surprise. Every time I watch him hit a fly ball, I see him glance at the OF'ers to see if they are running back to the wall. At that age, you should know when the ball is going somewhere, s*** I can tell distance when i hit a golf ball, and I'm no pro.
-
Carlos's control looks good, getting ahead of hitters then throwing soft stuff low.
-
Did I see someone ask why Torres is pitching from the stretch? Most likely its a control thing that Coop was working with him on. His walks were very damaging to him.
-
Why does Soriano think every time he makes contact with the ball that its gone?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:42 PM) Thunder, I'm just saying it's hilarious and a sign of our laughable season that the man so many despise is responsible for arguably our two finest moments of the f***ing season. At least Wise has contributed to a few wins. Has Rios? Wise has produced better than Rios so far this year for the Sox. I would bet Rios will produce much more though in the next few seasons though. Rios is also much more talented than Dwayne.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) Why a straight steal? Why didn't batter swing? This is another example of 2 bad teams playing. Looked like a missed sign there. Either way Alexei still knocking in runs.

QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) Come on... AJ is one of the only guys on the team who is HITTING the ball. Look at his splits the last two months: - July: .356/.364/.506/.869 - August: .330/.374/.473/.846 And since no one else in the lineup is hitting squat, it makes perfect sense to have him third right now. RBI's in those months: 6 and 9. 15 RBI's with 5 HR. Dont tell me how you hit, tell me when you hit. I'd like SOMEONE to point out where I said the guy doesnt hit. I said the guy doesnt knock in runs.

QUOTE (JoeCredeYes @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 08:15 AM) 1. Hanley 2. Bartlett 3. Jeter 4. Asdrubal 5. Escobar 6. Aybar 7. Tejada 8. Tulowitski 9. Scutaro 10. Reyes when healthy 11. Rollins 12. Guzman 13. Theriot 14. Andrus doesn't have the numbers yet but he's 21 15. To make 15 I'll toss in Freddy Sanchez, who has played some SS. You know when you have to toss a 2B in a list about who you would take over a SS that you are stretching, apparently that didnt cross your mind.
