  1. Hey! I know a LH hitting shortstop that puts up numbers like that. Would you be interested in acquiring him?
  2. I read to much crap to remember where I saw this. I think it was at one of the Chicago papers' websites.
  3. They probably hadn't before Vizquel was signed. But now that he has signed, the Tribe will certainly "offer" arbitration. They have until December 7th to do so. Unless Magglio signs before 12/7, the won't get a draft choice.
  4. Regarding all this speculation about signing Koskie and trading Crede. I like the idea. What Koskie will bring to the table is well documented in this thread and I won't rehash it. Crede does have value and I attribute the fact that there isn't much interest is because he's not considered available. Jeckle mentioned that if we have Koskie, then Crede's value will go down. No way. Crede's value has nothing to with us having a replacement. That does not compute. I think Crede will eventually be a damn good all around ballplayer. It just won't be with the Sox. Just about the time he gets good and starts producing like a quality major league 3B, he'll be gone. Why? ...... Boras. Trade him now before we are over a barrel with him. Sign Koskie for 3 years, which gives Josh Fields plenty of time to get ready.
  5. The Sox have also expressed interest in Mantai, though he prefers the Cubs.
  6. Maybe. But I think it will cost us Brian Anderson, too.
  7. I don't know about Beltran, but I know why I wouldn't want to go to New York. Too many damn New Yorkers there.
  8. LMAO .... I see it as Renteria having the same OBP last year as Uribe. Earlier I said he wasn't worth 8 million, so I damn sure don't think he's worth 10. Let's just agree to disagree on this. Neither one of us will convince the other.
  9. I'm not trying to defend it. I'm just saying we shouldn't be so quick to condemn when it could be a fatal decision to do what is correct in this instance.
  10. Mark my words folks ... when enough people get enough money into investments that would have been in SS .... the market will crash and burn
  11. I know it's a steal. Renteria is the thief though.
  12. That was last year. He's a little older, stronger and smarter this year. He may be what we need yet. It's worth a shot.
  13. Nuke ... The Giants deferred the money.
  14. Some of the money was deferred. The point he's overlooking is that you do have to pay it out at some time.
  15. When I said Moriatti had it right this time, I was talking about the call for JR to sell the team. He's had 25 years and still not even a sniff of a World Series. As far as Boras' clients are concerned .... they are all overpriced and wanting too many years. Just about every major long term contract has turned into one the team ends up regretting and trying to get out from under. Look at the proposed Sosa deal ..... Green, Sosa, Piazza, Floyd
  16. I believe a catcher can make all the difference in the world with a pitching staff.
  17. Renteria is looking for $10 million per year average. No thanks.
  18. He's right Nuke. Hell, they've cut beheadings down to only once a week or so. :rolly
  19. One thing I find disturbing about all this is that the UN will not turn over any records on this issue. However, if the UN wants to hold on to all of the records, it's ok with me .... as long we stop funding the UN. They can get their asses off US soil too.
  20. I think you have to take into consideration the type of stuff the terrorists have been doing when you judge the guy that pulled the trigger. I mean, someone "playing dead" suddenly moves, a hesitation on your part could prove to be fatal. This incident didn't "look" good and is being used by the enemy for political purposes, but when you think it might be your ass or his what choice do you have?
  21. I made a mistake earlier in this thread. So it's cool. Just don't be so quick to think you have an arguement won or to refer to someone else's lack of knowledge. You kind of set me off this morning, and that's my fault for letting that happen.
  22. Ok. Now let me ask you this. What was your opinion of Aaron Rowand and Paul Konerko one year ago today?
