Well Nifong did get his goal acheived in this case......frame the rich white kids against the black stripper long enough to get the african american vote in Durham and be re elected. Too bad karma is knocking at the front door.

7/126 is too powerful to overcome hatred for a organization/team. This is not a surprise.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Okafor> D Howard that is all. If serious, that's the dumbest statement in the entire thread. By far. And wow, Tyrus and especially Wallace were dominant tonight. -
http://dispatch.com/sports-story.php?story...1215-F3-00.html And the "unique situation" thing that happened with Gordon doesn't hold water here. Honestly, hearing this pisses me off far more than the Gordon thing does, although Sanctions is out of his league recruiting against Matta (although who isn't?) Few? Try 700 plus. Might want to do some homework before making egregiously inaccurate statements like that. You can say he did nothing wrong in regards to Gordon (which is fair), but that statement is still amazingly wrong.

Armando Allen is the best player in their class other than Claussen. His sub 4.3 speed is a perfect fit for an offense that spreads it out a lot with 3 and 4 WR sets. He will make things a whole lot easier for Claussen as he goes through his growing pains. I know ND also has gotten I believe 2 defensive backs with good speed so far, plus Tate could be a candidate to play there, so their #1 weakness (defensive backfield speed) seems to be being addressed.

Tigers shoulda signed him, he and Rogers know all the pine tar tricks of the trade.

First of all, ignore all Teddy Greenstein articles, he's the Tom Lemming of sportswriters. However, I will say this: the ONLY problem I had with Eric Gordon was he continued to lie to the staff and tell them he was going to Illinois until 2 weeks prior to LOI day. Thus, the staff assumed they still had him, and was screwed when he left since it was too late with others. If Gordon had just told the staff he was looking, and then committed to IU afterwards because he liked Sampson, that's fine, but you shouldn't just lie to the staff up until 2 weeks before LOI day. That's my only issue, and it's the same way I feel about football recruiting, if your going to decommit, just give the staff your leaving more than a week or two when everybody else is off the board to fill your spot. Also, Marvin Austin removed Illinois from his list today. It sucks, but he was a longshot anyways, and Illinois has more guys intersted than scholarships anyways, so they'll get somebody else that can play with Austin's spot, perhaps Sagesse from Canada.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 08:05 AM) Bye Javy..... Yep, and hello Alex Rios. As for Wells taking this deal, I think he realizes that he, like all of us, can live with 7/126 million in a place he might not like. As diverse as the Blue Jays TEAM is not, Toronto is a VERY diverse city (I've been there a few times) and a pretty cool place, so yeah.

QUOTE(Nokona @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) Iowa landed a 4 star DB today and seem to have Jordan Bernstine (4* DB) all wrapped up. Fixing our holes I like it. Morrow is a GREAT pickup, a 4 star out of Ohio that had Indiana his leader for months. And Bernstine is equally as huge, another 4 star that you keep in state. Plus, D Back is your #2 need besides wide receiver right now IMO.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) Northwestern losing at the half to WHEATON COLLEGE They win by 2, as a game winning 3 by Wheaton rims off at the horn. This comes after NW beat North Florida by only 1 on a late basket, and LOST to Cornell. Yet, they beat DePaul by 10 and also beat Miami of Florida. Bizarre. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) So if Benn has committed, Tez would likely be playing DE? Tez will start at OLB. The fact that the Illini are willing to let him start there and Notre Dame wasn't is a huge factor as to why he's almost assuredly going to announce for the Illini next week along with Brent. Tez keeps saying he wants to play on both sides of the ball, and he has the ability, but I doubt it. Not as strong a tie as Dan Disch, who recruiting verbals and best friends Troy Pollard and D'Angelo McCray, is from Jacksonville, and is very close friends with the HS coach at that school.
-
McCray to Illinois, yeah buddy.

Scoop Jackson wrote an insulting article basically saying A.I. hasn't been traded yet because he's too black for Utah, Minnesota, Milwaukee, and Indianapolis since those cities aren't urban enough. What an absolute moron, apparently he missed the memo on the popularity of Kevin Garnett, Karl Malone, Michael Redd, and Reggie Miller in those markets. Oh wait, I guess they aren't true thugs like "The Answer". Somebody needs to put Scoop and Micheal Irvin onto the proverbial slow boat to China, it's a disgrace that black people can be blatant racists and nobody says a word, but white people are on 24/7 watch.

Well, I am of the belief that when your guards and bigs aren't good, your team will tend to struggle. It's kinda like a similar theory I have with football that if your offense and defense suck, you might have issues. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Are we talking Canadien or U.S. dollars? Exactly what I thought, 126 million in Canada is like 900 thousand here isn't it? QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) sure is a lot money for a career .336 OBP. The Cubs set the market on crazy contracts for guys that don't get on base with Alf.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) No SIU vs. Central Michigan? Weak! Central has a 0.00 percent chance of scoring 45 or more in that game, or holding SIU to under 65. So yeah, not missing out. -
QUOTE(Fotop @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) Loss for ND, for sure. But at least they're all going to UofI where they wont interfere with ND in any way. Much better than going to USC, Michigan, et al. Yeah, wouldn't want him at a school Notre Dame plays against, like Army, Navy, the Air Force, Coast Guard, Stanford, Michigan State, North Carolina. They are already loaded, after all.
-
QUOTE(Fotop @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Lemming is paid by ND? That sounds ridiculously untrue. Any solid source on that, or is that comment hold the same validity as a "zook pays his players" statement? No, he is actually paid by ND, although I don't know what the title is or if it has a lot to do with recruiting. I'll have to look out for the link on that though, haven't seen it online in a while, I last read an article about it in a newspaper.

The Central is up for grabs, Detroit has had a bit of a dropoff, with Cleveland inconsistent. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 06:21 AM) Do you trade a guy in Ben Gordon who could be nothing more than a 6th man specialist in his career (I have serious doubts still he's ever going to make it as a starter) for a Troy Murphy, who's shown flashes of decentness, OR, do you hang Gordon and try to draft a PF in the draft if you miss out on Oden? That's my problem here. Gordon won't be anything more than a 6th man specialist shooter in his career, but I don't know if I'd want Murphy either, since he's inconsistent and this draft will be as loaded with bigs as any in history. Plus, I wouldn't want Davis (oft injured ballhog) either, although I'd take a flyer on J Rich, even with the knee.

15 points, 20 rebounds, 5 blocks for Ben Wallace tonight in as dominant a game as I can remember seeing a Bulls center play, as he held Chris Wilcox, who is having a solid year, to 4 points and 3 rebounds. And Orlando loses, at home, to Toronto!??! What's up DBAHO?? -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) Sleepy, can you please tell DePaul to make up their mind on wether they want to be good or not? Thanks. This team depends all on the play of Chandler and Meijia. If those 2 are more consistent, DePaul will be, and if they aren't (like it's been so far), they won't. DePaul should at least win 4 of their next 5, if not all 5, due to their only schedule letup though, so they could easily be 10-5 heading to Villanova and then hosting Pitt. Oh, and Iowa State won, so Heads will be happy. They better watch it next game though, hosting dangerous Bradley in a trap game since their game after is at tOSU. -
Apparently the FSU staff got a call from McCray with "bad news", his annoucement is at 2:30 tomorrow our time, so soon after that we'll know, but it won't be on ESPNU until like 6. Also, a week from tomorrow (the 21st), Josh Brent and Martez Wilson are having a joint presser (it was moved back a day so it can be on ESPNU) at Simeon, and virtually every Illini reporter from downstate has been invited. So in other words, things looking good on all 3 of them. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) Golden Tate is also Irish!!! Him and Armando Allen are 2 of the most athletic players in this entire class, they are great gets and the kind of players ND has to get if they plan on playing with the Michigan's and USC's of the world every year.

Jones will be gone this offseason anyways since Benson is now "ready", but it's nice Ced is getting more and more carries even now, since he's better.
