QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) hughes to notre dame nice pick up for the irish. They should be ecstatic that Walker left. Instead of Walker in 2007, you get to see Prince and Armando Allen, plus now they get Hughes, which never would have happened had Walker stayed, and they finally beat the mighty Illini for a recruit, so congrats there too.

Well, if Weber isn't on the hot seat yet (which based on the chatter of the only people that matter in college athletics, the boosters, he is) he's certainly be after a loss tonight. A loss tonight to the team that outdid him for the only good recruit he ever had, on ESPN, on the home floor, eliminating the Illini from the tournament, officially starts a clock that may reach zero by the end of next season. I wouldn't mind it pesonally, I'd love to see a coach that can actually bring in players that can do something. Only guy worth a damn Bruce has brought in is Pruitt. -
I hope Reggie enjoys his offseason long time to practice celebrating his dances, I hope the Saints can get their asses fixed from the soreness they have from the pounding it took today, and I hope the people of New Orleans enjoy the prosperity and ending of problems that the Saints run apparently brought them. (And yes, once again, that was the nice speech).

Dome teams are a money loss in this weather, and wow the Bears played well. Not much else to add there....but I must say I have to eat crow on Mr. Manning, he came up HUGE today and will be in Miami. Amazing that the PATRIOTS were the chokers today though. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) No doubt. I just get sick of talking about our repeated f*** ups, so I must look at something else for my own sanity. I just hate, on average, how it takes the average fan a year longer to figure out a coach should be on the hot seat than people like us. Once I start hearing we might get a coach that can bring in the talent that the last 2 coach we had did, I'll feel better. -

Those are some lowball offers considering those 3 guys were their entire offense last year run production wise. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) I know, I'm not saying it's the reason we lost. I am just saying the refs did indeed play a part in the end of that game. Obviously we need to hit more FT's, obviously we need to get better shots off but that has been rehashed countless times and I don't feel like beating that drum. True. Game still coulda been won after all that, but we kept drawing up 3 point plays for Chester Frazier. Nice call, coach. -
I don't know who made a more idiotic decision here, Samardzija or the Cubs. This baffles me to no end. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 02:23 PM) Jeff always had the reputation of not being the smartest guy alive, but $8 million guaranteed is $8 million guaranteed. Don't know what he'd get by being selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, but my gut says more than $8 million. He'd have probably got twice that much in guaranteed money alone as a mid to late first rounder (which he was) based on the current salary structure, plus a few million per year addition in base salary. Which is why I have no idea he did this, skipping that to be a bust relief prospect. And the Cubs, giving 5 years and 8 million to this guy and putting him on the 40 man?? HA!!

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) Haha. If you say so. But I guess being down 2 with the ball or being down 2 without the ball makes no difference in the game... It makes a difference, but that's not the reason Illinois lost. If the free throws are made, Illinois probably has a half a dozen point lead at that point, but this isn't the only game free throws has lost Illinois. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) Tyrus is actaully growing on me, never would have expected that. He is a complete basketball dumbass, but if he learns how to play at all, he's going to be awfully good. And the fact that Thabo hasn't taken all of Duhon's minutes yet makes me want to punch Skiles in the throat. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) So we have the ball with a chance to tie, same concept, no? Not nearly the same concept as shooting free throws to tie, especially since Pruitt was out so our only chance to score probably would have been McBride banking in a three. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) I'll be at the UC tonight, too bad I won't be able to see the Rev on the Jazz bench. Bulls need this game. The #1 seed is there for the taking. I wish Duhon would go away and Big Ben would really get hurt though (not seriously, just enough so he doesn't play for a long while), this team is better with the 2 rookies getting those minutes. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) You doubt the Landry call matters? If that basket is no good Randle is shooting 2 FT's for the tie... And you obviously didn't watch the whole game if that Wiscy shot off the side of the backboard was not piss poor. You don't shoot free throws on an offensive foul, so no he wouldn't have been. The reason Randle got free throws was the foul was called after the shot, thus wasn't an offensive foul. If Randle makes both of those free throws (which of course, he didn't), the only net the call has is Wisky has the ball instead of Illinois. And yeah, that side of the backboard call was bad, but I was just talking about fouls, plus that was in the first half. -

Deron, Dee, and the memories of what Illini basketball used to be bring Utah to the UC tonight. Bulls only 1/2 game out of the best record in the East, so the games keep getting bigger. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Actaully our athleticism had nothing to do with any of the blatantly f***ed up calls. Like Tucker flailing his arms into Randle and getting a foul in the first half, or a Wisconsin player bricks a shot off the side of the backboard out of bounds and it's called out on Illinois when it was clearly never touched, or where Tucker puts Frazier on the floor after a loose ball, or when Landry clearly charges before the ball was released and it wasn't even close. Would these calls have changed the game, who knows? But they were still clearly wrong no matter what way you look at it. Oh please, the only piss poor call was the basket by Landry counting and I doubt it matters. Both teams shot the same amount of free throws almost, and Wisky made theirs, unlike Illinois. That and talent level is why Wisky won the game. -

Most damning loss of the season for Illinois IMO. The fans will b**** that the refs decided it (even though they didn't, Illinois' lack of athletcism is why they always foul so much). Illinois played as well as they can, and STILL lost, at home, by 7. That is just a sign that your players aren't good enough, which is an indictment of the recruiting. I'll never regret the Illini losing Self, but I regret the man they hired to replace him. Thad Matta was there, but instead, Ron Guenther and his lack of creativity heads to Carbondale. -
The fact that Katrina could kill hundreds and hundreds of wonderful people, and forget to take a douche like this with it is pretty sad. New Orleans is a hell hole, was a hell hole before Katrina, will be a hell hole for all eternity after Katrina, the unfortunate victims still live in FEMA trailers, and will be pretty sad Sunday night after their franchise, which was a joke for 39 years, loses. This game WAS the most important Bears game in my life due to the stakes alone, but now, the stakes are even higher: shut up the morons and Katrina mongerers. I ask though, if it's true that every action has an equal and opposite reaciton, does that mean New Orleans will be re flooded when the Saints lose?

Just got back from the Pavillion. Damn, that Oak Hill school does a great job recruiting, like 5 high major prospects, mostly 4 and 5 stars. But they really don't play any defense, and Simeon did a nice job exposing them. Rose has to be the best HS guard i've ever seen in this state, he dominated the game on both ends, like 27 and 10 and he shut down Oak Hill's stud point guard, who i saw balling his eyes out after he fouled out on the bench. Scary that that Simeon team will have trouble even getting back downstate since they will have to go through St. Joe's again, and equally as sad that Rose won't spend his 1 and done in Champaign. Thanks Bruce. -

Beras game went exactly like I expected, it's good I predicted a game as it would go right for about the 3rd time in 100 tries this year in the NFL. Also, I give Marty a TON of credit, only he could coach up a team that good and see them lose to a team that weak (and yes, the Patriots THIS YEAR are weak, just like last year. Got away with it today though). Brady was piss poor all day, but if you give him 8 chances, he'll wake up like he did. Enjoy your trip to Miami Colts fans, I hope i'm wrong but I think you'll be playing the Saints. -

Manning is still a pathetic, brutal, awful choker, he looked like Rex today. But damn, that defense is on a mission. And wtf is Andy Reid doing punting there? That was maybe the dumbest late game decision since taking the wind. And as great as the Colts were on defense, hopefully this game also helps people realize what Steve McNair and Jamal Lewis are: washed up and bad. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 03:01 AM) Whitesoxfan101, I like you, but wtf are you smoking? They're barely a playoff team without Nash, if that. Have you seen them without Nash? It's brutal. I LIKE YOU!!! Man Borat is awesome. But yes, I have seen them play without Nash....but not this year. He deserved the last 2 MVP's, but you could put an average player at PG with this years cast of characters (Boris Diaw realized he's good, Amare, Barbossa, Marion, etc etc) and they'd be nasty. He's having a great year, but there is no way he should be an MVP. Dwight Howard might be my MVP right now, i know they are in the east, but Grant freaking Hill is their 2nd best player. -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) I love Murphy. He's the ONLY show in town to turn to during the offseason for baseball talk. I'll just assume your joking, and hope i'm right. Based on this logic, you love Murph and White Sox Weekly, maybe the 2 worst shows in radio history, because they talk baseball 12 months a year. Just because they talk our sport doesn't mean they have a good show. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) Please get started. There arent many gm's out there in any sport that has brought 6 championships to a city. So please continue. I could say with confidence, a lot of it, that YOU, RockRaines of soxtalk, could have won 6 rings if you were handed Mike Jordan and given Scottie Pippen for Olden Polenyce (sp?). Organzations do win Championships on occasion, but not those 6. There is a reason the sleuth was one of the biggest jokes in all of sports his last several years here. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) Hmmm, you're not much of a basketball guy, are you Dick? Chandler is at what, 11.5 rebounds per game? He's a potential rebounding champion at the age of 24. His help defense is also bordering on elite. Worst trade in the history of sports? Good God, man. To call Chandler's help defense anything more than average is pretty far out there, but overall I agree. Tyson would have been a much better player than Brand had he given a damn about his offensive game and improving his still epically bad hands (he'd have 15 rebounds a game instead of 11.5 if he could catch), so the trade had logic behind it, unlike most Krause moves post 1998. -
Boers and Bernstein on anything but the radio could be a disaster, based on the appearance those 2 have. Faces made for radio.

There are so many since their lack of any weight is a huge turnoff, but to answer the question specfically is EASY, and i'm amazed she hasn't come up yet. NATALIE PORTMAN is the obvious, obvious choice here. She is extraordinarily ugly, yet there are a lot of people that love her. I can't say I would kick her out of bed because she wouldn't get near the bed in the first place.
