Heading to the 5th...6 outs from an official game. Hopefully this is a fast inning.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Swinging successfully. And, let's give a shout-out to Jim Leyland for the intentional walk. If we're going to criticize Ozzie when a move backfires, it's only fair to point it out when the other guy's plan goes bad, too. So there you go on that one. Didn't really backfire. If they turn that a hair quicker, the inning ends.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) He sounded like an oldie. Did he say the term "blue collar" 3 or 4 times??

JUANNY!!!! 3 RUN BLAST!! Wow, that ball was annihilated!! Way to prove me wrong there.
-
If they tried to Intentionally Walk Juan, I think he'd just strike out swinging.
-
A.J. with the slooooooooooooooow grounder to 3rd, but they only get the in between man. So it's 1st and 3rd with 2 outs for Uribe.
-
Leyland with another GREAT move, IBB for Crede so it's 1st and 2nd 1 out for A.J.
-
You gotta get him over to 3rd there at least Paulie, come on.
-
HAHA!! When your hot, your hot. Jermaine with the oppo duck snort short off the foul line, and a hustle double for Jermaine.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Exactly. So obviously, when there's a righty on the mound...BA should sit. BRIAN ANDERSON CAN NOT HIT RIGHT HANDERS. AND WE HAVE TO REST HIM UP FOR WINTERBALL. Ozzieball: It's FANNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC
-
Jon got away with one, and that was hit pretty hard, but we'll take it. Heading to the 4th up 2-0 with the meat of the order up.
-
Thanks Cubs, free out Neifi is retired.
-
That's ok, run scored and the middle of the order is up next inning. Toss up a goose egg Jon.
-
Pablo swinging the magic wand, got the pixie dust working, w/e you want to call it, but it's an RBI bloop single, 2-0 good guys.
-
And now Brian with A TRIPLE!! BRIAN FREAKING ANDERSON!! First MLB Triple!!
-
2/3 of the earth is covered by water, the other third by BRIAN FREAKING ANDERSON!! WOW!!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) How many guys in our starting rotation have had better velocity than Jon this year? Jose sometimes hits 95, but aside from that? Your right, but Jon still doesn't have plus velocity on his fastball in general, which is more what I'm saying. If our other guys pitches had the natural movement that Jon's do, they'd be fine.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:15 PM) Man I like Dye in the 3 hole. Gooch is beyond awful against LHP, and our lead off hitters seem to be retarded. And pitch effectively inside. Jon IMO is a prime example that in many cases, movement >>> velocity QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) yeah said it twice yesterday... He had a real nice game yesterday, but has still been struggling a bit at the plate. Speaking of which, A.J. whiffs. He hasn't had a good at bat in quite a while.
-
Crede pops it up, damn we've been saying that a lot lately.
-
The rest of the staff should take note with that Jon has shown since he's turned it around, which is it's amazing how much success you have if you can do things as simple as keep the ball down, not walk guys, and not give up homers.
-
Jon with the power sinker, and RACK 'EM UP! QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) I still would like to see what Anderson could do in the 2 hole next year...especially if there's no dropoff in how he's been playing since June 1 before the end of the year. Agreed, especially since Brian hits rights and lefties pretty equally (and actually hits righties better).

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) I think Dye cares more about making the playoffs then winning the MVP. Oh of course he does, but it would be a crime for him not to win MVP if we make the playoffs.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) I don't think anyone thought it was going out. I thought it was going to be extremely close, Hawk has gotta be better ready than that!!
-
The one thing that is a shame is if we make the playoffs, Jermaine Dye SHOULD win MVP bar none, but he won't.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 10:22 AM) I pretty much agree with you on this. The bill sounds like a happy medium to me though. Surprises me since lately the bills that are in Congress/HofR are heavily sided one way or another. Yeah I actually think this is a great compromise, for once they got it right.
