Rocker's a bone-head, but it's unfortunate that political correctness has made him an outcast. I mean, I don't like the guy, and I think what he said was ignorant, but there's plenty of minorities who've said similar things about whites (or other groups) with little or no backlash. I can always CHOOSE to bundle up and go to any game I want...unless of course you'd be at the gate banishing me from the cell for not getting my 'chill on' back in April. Of course then the talking wouldn't be from a message board.  It would be face to face and I have a weird feeling all the attendance bashers wouldn't come off the same way.

If you look closely at my post, it says "COLOR=green." I was being sarcastic (I love a dumb attendance argument). I tried to use the color option. Didn't work for some reason. Still don't know how to use it. This would be unnecessary. More like it.

The Yankees are always going to score runs, that's a given, although their lineup isn't as deep as it was last year. They never should have let Miguel Cairo go for Tony Womack, but the worst decision was not resigning Jon Lieber when they could have picked up his $8 million option. Now they're stuck with Kevin Brown and Jaret Wright who had Leo Mazzone's Magic Touch written ALL over him.

1996-2000 Yanks always had guys like Brosius, O'Neill, Tino, Girardi, etc. who were good, solid ballplayers. Gus who would give themselves up for the good of the team (Bunts, Sac Flys). After they lost to the D-backs, they decided to build an all-star team. Lots of selfish players. They'll put up runs and win their share of games, but things get tough in the playoffs when they have to pick each other up.

 

Kind of parallels (on a different $$$ scale) recent Sox clubs. Big stats, little to show for it at the end. Thank God KW decided to go the speed, pitching, defense route, finally.

Honestly, I can careless what anyone says about attendance. 

 

My personal view is I ain't paying money to freeze my ass off.  The players have to be out there....they are getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to be in that cold....me I have to pay for the right to be in the cold.  FUNK THAT!!  It's just not fun..and part of the reason I go to the game is to have fun and watch the sox win. 

 

So if Kruk's fat ass wants to cry like someone took away his donut...and people on this board want to cry about....go for it...I ain't losing sleep. 

 

The players know how cold it is....and I gurantee there ain't a chance in hell they would be watching a game in that weather if they didn't have to.  I'm sure they appreciate the diehards, but they ain't knocking the people that don't want to freeze.

Better hope it's unseasonably warm in October. If not, front row seats fopr me.

As for ESPN, sure they don't give CWS enough credit or airtime. Here's what I do. If Baseball Tonight starts at 8pm, I turn it on at 8:40 for Sox highlights. Same way for Sports Center.

If you're basing it purely on the strength of Boers and McNeil having experience together, that would be pretty bad.  I hope that you're not thinking along those lines.  I've been listening to the Score daily since 1992 when I was a freshman in high school, and nobody can tell me that there has been a better show that B & B.

The original Monsters/Heavy Fuel Crew line-ups were way better than anything they have on the "snore" now. MJH is really solid on am1000. B&B tend to get a little too morning zoo-ish with their uncontrollable laughter at semi-funny things.
