Uniform question- when did the pinstriped uniform add the large white area in the side from the armpit down? It looks odd to me. Yankees don’t have it, and the old Sox unis don’t have it.

I agree - tough weekend to be a Sox fan. It hurts to care about the outcome rather than performance and development.

I can’t imagine he has anywhere near the influence now that he had in the early 90s. Why would anyone listen to him?

How about Meidroth to SS or 3b, Sam to 2b, and Grichuk, Junior, or Bene in LF? Keep Acuna for ghost running duties if we go extra.

Yep. Looked out, but they wouldn’t have overturned it. Live, I thought Acuna looked out, but on the replay I didn’t see enough to overturn. I guess it helps if the reviews are done by people who are likely Yankees fans.

His first homer still hasn’t landed, so I’m not so sure his power is park aided. I hope they keep him as a utility player when Mune comes back. Get rid of Acuna. His only value is as a pinch runner. It’s brutal to watch him bat.

Roch came into the season as the consensus top pick, and he performed to expectations. He had a bad playoff (10-12 at bats), and now there’s doubt? I hope the Sox don’t overthink this and pick out of positional need. Just pick the best guy and if there are too many at that position in the system, it’s great trade bait. Some of our young guys who are performing well now might have a sophomore slump à la Gordon Beckham (or Quero).

I’ll reserve judgement until Ohtani runs off tackle a few times.

I always thought he looked like Tony Phillips looked in the video where he was on the tigers and our starter (Wayne Edward’s?) hit Ken Kaiser in the mask on the first pitch of the game. Kaiser then called a ball before the second pitch was out of the pitcher’s hand, and the close up of Phillips with his eyes bugging out of his head is hilarious. Bonus - Terry Bevington!!!!

There are a few guys who need to improve their situational hitting. It’s ok to let it rip on the first pitch, but they have to change to a contact approach when a fly ball will get a run in. They leave way too many potential runs on base.

This seems to be more important in baseball than any of the other sports.

Schriffen needs to learn that it’s ok for there to be a little silence in a baseball broadcast. He fills every second.

I love reading the game threads after the games are over. Lots of hot takes. Not taking shots, either. That’s kind of the point of the game threads. That’s why we’re fans.

Just finished binging the seven seasons of West Wing. Great show. I think it took my wife and I around 6 months. Somehow, most of the political storylines (Israel, Iran, lobby reform, you name it) covered in the series are as relevant as ever today. Not much I don’t like about the series. My kids were young during the first run and I never even considered watching it. I’m glad I finally got around to it. It ranks highly among the best tv shows of all time - including Sopranos, Wire, etc.
